Alternative Amnesia (1)
Hey guys! So, recently I got a dare from BelieverChick1 and it's for me to write an alternative to the chapter titled "I got bored so..." and here it is!
I strongly suggest going back to read it so you know what's happening!
Okay, here we go!
"Basically I just made all of them dares up, to get rid of everyone, so I can dare you." I explain to Hiccup as we stand in the clubhouse.
"AHA! I had a theory that you were just getting everyone to leave!" Hiccup exclaims, snapping his finger. Toothless comes over and coos
"Excellent, Excellent! Toothless can get in on it too!" I say in a creepy voice, rubbing my hands together. "Okay, now you may not like this, but that's sort of half the point. My dare, for you, Mr Dragon Conquer, is—" I say very deviously but he cuts me off.
"I do not call myself the Dragon Conquer!" Hiccup protests.
"Yeah, sure you don't. Whatever. Anyway, my dare is for you to fake being knocked out, but before you interrupt, that's not it. You have to fake loosing some of your memory. You have to act like you don't know why the gang are talking to you, or who Toothless is, or why you have the metal leg. Basically you have to act like you did before you met Toothless." I explain.
"Really?!" Hiccup complains. "I have to act like I am still useless?!" I facepalm.
Toothless quietly growls in protest. "Hiccup, you weren't useless. People just didn't see your talents, or give you a chance, or listen, or be supportive, or nice, or remotely respectful. But yes, that's how you have to act. And Toothless you will just come in with everyone else and pretend that you know nothing about your riders amnesia, okay?" I exclaim with several sighs. Toothless croons in agreement.
"Ugh. Fine. I accept." Hiccup grumbles. "Not that I have much of a choice anyway." He mutters the last part.
"Good! And yes, you didn't have a choice anyway." I grin, getting up and walking out. "When you hear voices coming just, like, lay on the floor.. or something." I say. I hear Hiccup sigh, but he still nods.
Toothless follows me out and I stand at the edge, looking for anyone approaching. Toothless distracts himself nearby, acting like an overgrown cat.
Twenty eight minuets later, according to my watch, Astrid and Heather fly in on their dragons, closely flanked by Ruff and Fishlegs on Meatlug, and Snotlout on Hookfang. At one point Tuff comes with barf and belch and Ruff switches to sit on barfs head.
They all land at the clubhouse, Tuff chuckling suspiciously.
"What's up with him?" Fishlegs questions.
"No clue. But it's Tuffnut. We should be used to it by now." Ruff replies.
Meanwhile in the clubhouse. (I nearly wrote Meanwhile in Australia there. (You know the memes)
Hiccup paces around the room slightly, thinking about the dare. He's never really been big on things like this. It seems a bit cruel to the gang.
Since our young Auburn haired over thinker is so lost in his thoughts, he completely misses the pile of water in front of him. Too late does he realse its there, as he hears a loud bang which startles him, so he then slips over, crying out in surprise. As he falls, his head slams into a thick metal reinforcer harshly. Pain explodes over his body, and his eyes role back as he slum of to the ground unconscious. For real.
Back outside.
"Hey Sophie. We did what you wanted." Astrid greets as Roxi floes over to me and perches on my shoulder. I give her a friendly scratch (the dragon, not Astrid) and give her a fish from my pocket. "Wait, Where's Hiccup?" Astrid asks curiosity.
"Oh, he's just inside, doing his dare." I explain, then I am quick to realise that what I said might spoil the whole thing. "Oh, and the dare I gave him was to see how long he could last without seeing Toothless, and I came out to keep Toothless company...But it's clear he didn't need it." I tell them, finishing with a gesture towards Toothless, whom is happily chasing a few Terrible Terrors around.
"Oh, okay." Astrid replies with a shrug.
"So all of you did your dares?" I question them.
"Yep. Ruffnut totally doesn't understand the structure of a Rock garden." Fishlegs announces, huffing in annoyance. Ruff glares at him, furious.
"THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME!" She yells. Fishlegs gasps, horrified at what she claims.
Haha. Well Hiccup obviously would of heard that, and taken that as the cue to get into position.
"Yeah, I did my dare." Snotlout and Tuffnut say in sync.
"Okay, Well now I've got a large dare for all of you, so let's go in." I say, thinking that Hiccup should be laying on the ground somewhere. So everyone gets off their dragons and we walk in with our dragons. Roxy is perched on my left shoulder. I look at her and scratch her as we come in, trying to contain my smirk as I a good looking at Hiccup.
"HICCUP, OH MY GODS!" Astrid shouts, gaining my attention. She runs over to an 'unconscious' Hiccup, laying on the ground by the table that goes around the fire. We all rush after her. It takes all my will to not burst out laughing or even crack a smile.
"Oh SHIT. I-Is he okay?" I question with fake concern and fear. Then, I realise there's a little bit of blood coming off his head. Huh. He stepped it up a notch. Wonder how he faked the blood? Toothless runs over and nudges his rider a few times. Hiccup now starts to shift. Ha who knew dragons could act.
Okay, get ready for the twist guys!!!
"Gods, dad, stop poking me!" Hiccup moans. He sits up slowly with a hand on his head, just to come face to face with Toothless.
"GAH! DRAGON!" He yells, scrambling back. Horror sets on his face. "N—Night Fury!" Hiccup cries, covering his face as he waits his doom.
WOW his acting has improved massively! Like, just, this is better than I expected! I'd applaud him right now, but that would give it away, obviously.
Toothless pretends to give Hiccup a confused look, moving to nudge him again. But Hiccup shuffles back.
"G-Get away!" Hiccup cries, breathing heavily.
Astrid gently pushes Toothless aside. "Hiccup? Are you..alright?" She asks, real worry and concern present in her words as he breaths heavily in a fetal position.
"A-...Astrid?" he looks up. "Wh-What is going on? Y-you look different...older? wait, why..why are you talking to me?" Hiccup rambles nervously, eyes wide. "Where am I? And who are you?" He looks at me, confusion on his features.
"H-Hiccup?" Astrid stutters, now white in shock as she takes in the situation. She collects herself. "Can you tell me how old you are? What about your last memory? Do you know where you are?" She asks gently.
"U-Uh... I.., fifteen. I mean, I-I'm at Berk... right? I..is this a new building? I..just..where?" he stammers. "I.. the last thing I remember.. Snotlout... I-I...Snotlout pushed me into into the mud." Hiccup obliges and I raise an eyebrow.
Geez he should get an Oscar for thess amazing acting skills!
"Cuz?" Snotlout asks, moving forward. Hiccup's eyes widen in fear and he moves back.
"I-I'M SORRY! I-I didn't mean to! Please don't hurt me!" Hiccup cries, scrambling back and flinching.
"Hiccup? You mean... you don't know where you are? You have no memory of Dragons Edge? No idea why we're friends? No memory of meeting Toothless?" Fishlegs questions worriedly.
"Who's...Toothless?" Hiccup questions.
"He! He is Toothless." Astird exasperatingly exclaims, pointing to the sad looking dragon in the corner. Hiccup flinched at the sight of the dragon.
"What..I...its a dragon, Astrid! A DRAGON! I...I don't... OHMYTHOR WHERE IS MY LEG?!" Hiccup finishes off with a yell, startling the gang, as he looks down at his metal leg, cradling it with his face as white as snow.
What? Is he controlling the elements now?!
Astrid covers her mouth in shock and moves back.
"Oh..my Thor. He doesn't remember anything that has happened." She squeaks, a tear running down her face.
She takes a few seconds to recover. "Okay, H-Heather, Snotlout, go to Berk and get Gothi, Stoick, and probably Gobber to translate." She commands.
"Fishlegs, twins, Sophie, I need you to takes turns on patrol and just keep any dragons away—"
"CAN SOMEONE JUST TELL ME WHAT'S HAPPENING!" Hiccup yells out, standing up. This gains everyone's attention. He runs a hand though his hair out of stress, but his hands show blood. I get an uneasy feeling in my stomach, knowing something isn't right.
"B-Blood?! I-I have no idea where I am! Why is there a dragon there?! How are you guys just standing there next to a dragon?!" He exclaims, gesturing his hands wildy. He starts to hyperventilate. My eyes widen.
Okay. Something is definitely wrong.
"Hiccup! Hiccup! Calm down! Tone it down a notch!" I exclaim.
"FOR THE LAST TIME! WHO ARE YOU?!" He yells at me.
Toothless comes over and nuzzles his rider calmly. "AAH! GET AWAY!" Hiccup screams, scrambling backwards until his back touches the wall. He turns his head away in fright.
"Hiccup! Snap out of it! You did the dare!" I tell him, my voice quivering.
"What dare?!" He yells. My face pales.
Okay. He's...he's not acting.
"Uh, why don't you and Toothless leave, just until he's calm?" Astrid tells me gently, her eyes welling up with tears as she looks at Hiccup.
"I..Im so sorry." I mutter, tears slipping down my cheeks. "I'm so, so sorry!"
"Why are you sorry? You have nothing to b—"
"YOU DON'T GET IT! IT'S MY FAULT! I DARED HIM TO FAKE UNCONSCIOUSNESS! AND HE GOT HURT! AND NOW HE'S LOST HIS MEMORY FOR REAL!" I yell out.
I just run out of the clubhouse before anyone can say anything else. I keep running around random place, until I find myself on a cliffside. I take a seat and I try to come to terms with what I have just done.
I've just gave Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third memory loss.
"Oh, gods. I'm gonna be getting swamped by angry fangirls pretty soon." I mutter, wiping away my tears just for more to fall. "What have I done?!"
It's all my fault.
