5-Treehouse and Roof Jumping
Above is a picture of Patrick.
Ashley POV
I wake up the next morning with a pounding headache. I curse ad then stumble out of bed and face the mirror. I grimace as I see my reflection. I quickly hop in the shower and the memories of las night come back to me. I laugh as I remember the dare I gave Alec but then stop when I remember the dare that was given to me by Hunter.
I groan out loud and slump against the shower wall. I climb out and dry myself off and stand in front of my closet trying to decide what to wear. That moment I realized that didn't have anything to wear that was suitable for this dare.
I rolled my eyes and just picked out a random shirt and threw on some jean shorts. It was the closest thing I could find to a decent outfit. I would just have to go shopping this weekend or something.
I was pulling on my converse when I heard a knock on my window. I jumped and screamed in surprise and whirled around to find Hunter smirking outside my window.
I slam my window open prepared to yell but he interrupts me by distracting me with a kiss on the cheek and climbing through the window into my bedroom.
Still shocked from the kiss, which meant absolutely nothing, I turned around and scowled at him. "How did you get up here?" I hissed.
He raised an eyebrow and smirked. I mentally groaned. I'll admit, he looked hot with a smirk but it was the most annoying facial expression from him by far. "I jumped," he said simply as if it was nothing.
I looked at him incredulously. "You jumped?" He nodded. "Hunter, it is physically impossible to jump two stories up."
"I didn't jump from the ground, duh," he rolled his eyes.
"Then where did you jump from?" I asked my eyes wide. If he could get in now then he could get in at any time.
"From my treehouse," he said while surveying the room.
I frowned and gave him a confused look. The eff was he talking about? "Your treehouse? Why do you have a treehouse in my neighborhood?"
"Correction: Our neighborhood," he said smoothly with a smirk.
Say what? He lives here? I facepalmed and groaned out loud. "You know, I could have you moaning for a different reason, sweetheart," he smirked and wiggled his eyebrows and I slapped him on the arm.
"Perv," I said glaring while trying not to crack a smile.
"But I'm your perv," he said with a wink.
I rolled my eyes and scoffed. "So where do you live?" I ask.
"Just a house over," he answers and I frown. He rolls his eyes at my expression. "There's a tree branch that goes over the house between us and my father built me a treehouse there when I was little just so we could piss off the neighbors, we really didn't like them. To get to your house I simply just jumped from my treehouse and onto your deck and knocked on your window."
I look at him in disbelief. "How do you get back home?"
"I just jump onto the neighbor's roof and onto my deck and into my room," he answers while walking around my room staring at the pictures.
"Why didn't you just do that to get here in the first place?" I asked.
He gave me a look and smiled. "What fun would that be?"
I swear I've never rolled my eyes as much as I have when I'm around Hunter Novell. "So, why are you here?"
"You're skipping today. We are taking you shopping for new clothes," he answers walking over to my bedroom door.
"We?" I ask and he nods.
"Yeah, Patrick and Alec. Plus Rachel and Emily, they insisted that they come."
I stare at him. "Why would I even consider going with you? Especially since you're practically trespassing in my room."
"Aw sweetheart, you know you want me here. Besides, remember our dare and deal?"
I scream in frustration as I grab my purse and he smirks. I could already tell that this would be a long year.
~~~~~~
"So what kind of outfits are we looking for?" I ask Hunter.
He shrugs. "Whatever a normal girl wears."
"Fine. But I only have enough for one outfit not including shoes," I say as I walk into the nearest store.
"Don't worry, sweetheart, I'll pay for everything," Hunter winks as he walks in beside me.
An hour later I, or Hunter, had bought three outfits. We were passing by Victoria's Secret when Hunter stopped me. "You should shop in there," he nods his head toward the store.
I shake my head in disbelief at him. "You're such an immature little perv." He winks.
About two hours later I have ten outfits each with matching shoes. "Are we done yet?" I whined.
"Done? You didn't even get any dresses!" Rachel exclaimed.
I lifted an eyebrow. "So?"
Rachel sighs, "You're impossible."
We walk inside another store and Rachel and I search for a dress while Emily starts talking to the boys. "So Hunter, why'd you choose Ashley for the dare?" If I heard right I could detect a little jealousy in her voice and I raised my eyebrow but pretended to not be listening.
"Because she was only one who wasn't already acting like a girl," he shrugged.
"And she's hot," Patrick added and Alec smacked him. "What? It's true." I blush a little but I still pretend I'm not listening.
Emily ignores them and turns her attention back to Hunter. "So Hunter, the back-to-school dance is coming up soon. Who are you gonna take?" she asks in an attempt to sound seductive.
"Is that coming up? Oh, well, I don't usually go, but now there might be a reason to," he said winking in my direction.
He walks up behind me and I can practically feel his smirk. "Hey sweetheart, let's go to the dance."
I raise an eyebrow. "Excuse me?"
"Well, dances aren't the type of thing that you go to, so it's time that you went to one. You'll even have the privilege of having me as your 'date'."
"Are you kidding me?" I ask him. "I'm already looking for a casual dress! Going to a dance is just too much."
"Hm. I guess Ashley Robinson is finally going to lose a dare," he taunts and I scowl.
"Fine," I say in defeat. "But I'm not wasting any more time finding another dress. One of you can go find one."
Emily snaps up and Hunter smirks. "I'll do it," Emily says at the same time Hunter says,
"You got it, sweetheart."
Hunter walks off in another direction while Emily slumps down against a wall. She looks at me and a glare flashes across her face before she's smiling again. Weird.
~~~~~~
"I have your dress," Hunter says as he walks up behind me.
I turn around and gasp when I see it. It was gorgeous. It wasn't at all what I expected from a guy like Hunter.
I was a gray strapless, short dress that ended just above my knees. "Wow, this is really nice, Hunter," I breathed.
He walked towards me until he was standing right in front of me. He knelt down so close that our noses were almost touching. What was he doing? My pulse started to quicken. He leaned in.
Is he going to kiss me? Oh my god what is going on?
At the very last second, he turns his head so his hot breath is tickling my ear. "I can't wait to see you in it on Friday."
Then, he pulls away and smirks. I gulp and let out the breath I didn't realize I was holding.
The six of us were walking out of the store and I was silent. Rachel was walking and talking with Patrick, Hunter, and Emily while Alec was walking by my side.
"Hey, you okay?" he asked his face a mask of concern. I nod and give him a tight smile. Why was I so nervous all of the sudden? It was just a stupid dance. But deep down I knew that my nerves had nothing to do with the dance. They were about Hunter Novell.
