Dereck's Pov:

Neither of us said anything and she narrowed her eyes and marched to us. "Well?" She asked impatiently.

"Well what?" I asked as innocently as possible.

She popped us both on the back of the head. "Have you two finally woke up to reality and realized what was right in front of you?"

Vin nodded and wrapped his arm tighter around me. Ariel squealed and clapped her hands. "Finally! See Vinny I told you that day that there wasn't anything to worry about."

"Since when do you two talk about me?" I asked.

"Since she's Sammy's new girlfriend and I was upset and her and Sammy are like ninja assassins and total pros at torturing the truth out of people." He rushed out.

She snorted. "More like his eyeballs almost fell out of his head when he found out that I was dating his sister. Then he turned into a total drama queen and spent like an hour whining about Friday night and you just forgetting about it and how he was totally sprung and-"

Vin covered her mouth with his hand. "Don't believe her. She didn't take her crazy pills today and the voices in her head are talking to her again."

She licked his hand and he yanked it back. "Yeah they're telling me that you need an ass kickin. I'm telling Sammy you said she was fat! Haha She's gonna beat you."

I rolled my eyes at them. "Enough, play nicely children. Sooooo you were freaking out huh? Awe that's so cute." I teased Vin making him blush.

Which I loved because it hardly ever happened.

I turned to Ariel. "I cant believe you're dating Sammy, that's crazy."

She shrugged. "She's sweet and hot. Not so crazy, ya know what is crazy, you two being too clueless to see you've been in love with each other forever. If it hadn't been for me and Sammy you two idiots would probably still be clueless." She declared with her hands on her hips.

"What do you mean you and Sammy? Just because it was your dare that got us to kiss does not mean you got us together." Vin protested

She rolled her eyes. "Well it was my idea that you two morons would figure it out if you kissed. Be thankful I slid that dare in there a couple of weeks ago. Sammy wanted to kidnap y'all and lock y'all in a room naked and make you watch gay porn. Ya know let nature take its course."

My jaw dropped and I silently thanked Ariel for the dare. Sammy would have totally done that and talk about awkward!

Vincent hugged Ariel and whispered something in her ear that made her laugh. He slid his arm back around me and helped me back to the table.

The bell rang and we headed to lunch. Ariel plopped down on my lap and Vin shot her an irritated look.

She patted his head and grinned. " Awe are you jealous I'm in your spot?" She cooed.

He swatted her hand away and huffed. "Don't get any ideas, he's taken."

"You know I want all the details, right? Are y'all gonna make it official? Did you get together that night or sometime in the last two weeks? Are y'all going public? Are y'all gay, bi? Any weird threesomes with the many skanks you two have been through? Who's the pitcher and who's the catcher?" She rushed out excitedly in one breath.

Unfortunately for Vin I'd just taken a drink when she had her outburst. My laugh sprayed Big Red all over Vin. Which made me laugh harder causing Ariel fell off my lap and I laughed even more. Priceless. Gah I loved my life.

"Dare, what the hell!" Vin whined but he was laughing.

I gathered enough breath to say. "Shut up you loved my spit all over ya!"

His eyes lit up with that spark that I knew so well and my laughter stopped. He jumped up on the table and dropped down to his knees with his hands clutched to his heart.

"You've just completed me. All these years I've felt like something was missing from my life! All I needed was for you to spray your slobbery drink all over my face to make me see the truth that's been there from the start. I love you Dereck more then my own life! Please say you love me back. We can run away together and live off the land." He screamed loud enough for the world to hear.

I couldn't stop laughing and I knew exactly what to say to that but, the school didn't need to know this was only partially a joke. I waved him forward and whispered one word in his ear.

"Okay" I breathed in his ear causing him to shiver.

He pulled back grinning then jumped up and gasped loudly. "You're pregnant with Ariel's baby? How is that even possible and what's a mutual sex change?" He fake sobbed.

Ariel jumped up with him and pulled an imaginary gun out and spoke with a cheesy fake Spanish accent. "Si, it is true. Dereck is now Derecka and she is having my baby! You can not have her, I will fight you to the death. Drawl your pistola."

Vin acted like he drew his gun and I jumped up between them just as they made the shooting noises. I dropped to my knees clutching my chest as Vin wailed "WHY GOD WHY!!!"

Ariel wailed "Mi amour don't leave me!"

They both sank to their knees and fake cried into my shoulders.

Well that's what it looked like. Vin was giving me little love bites and shaking his shoulders making it look like he was sobbing. Ariel was laughing and making jokes about mine and Vin' s matching hickies.

Oops didn't mean to give him one when we were in the library. Oh well. Now people will know he's taken, off limits. I like that.

We all jumped up and took a bow to our watching audience. When we got to next period people were still talking about our show and high fiving us for spicing up a boring lunch.

Ariel walked in and stopped at the desk beside me. "Move Vinny" She demanded.

"No, this is my spot. I sit in the same seat in every class. Always next to Dare."

She narrowed her eyes. "Fine then I'll sit in Dereck's lap" She threatened with a huge smile.

"No you wont. I'll tell Sammy you're switching teams." He shot back.

"She already knows I'm a switch hitter." She retorted as she plopped down on my lap.

"Don't I have a say in this?"

"NO" They both snapped.

Vin leaned across me to the girl on the other side of me. "Hey, I'm Vincent and this is Dereck. See that crazy looking chick in his lap. She wont get off of him until she can sit next to him. She's his crazy fan girl stalker. His leg's going numb, she's a lot heavier then she looks and I would really appreciate it if you could switch seats with her. Just for today. I'd totally owe you" He said in his flirty voice.

She thought about it for a second and leaned over and whispered something in his ear. He chuckled and nodded. "Deal"

She smiled at us and went to Ariel's seat. Ariel got up and did a booty shake before she got into her new temporary seat.

"I knew you'd figure a way for me to sit with y'all. So are y'all gonna answer my questions?" She said fluttering her lashes.

"Class is about to start." I said.

"We have a substitute today and we're watching Lorax. So we have plenty of time" She said smugly while drumming her fingers on the desk top.

The sub came in and put the movie on, switched off the light and fell asleep at the teachers desk.

Vin scooted closer to me and Ariel moved in front facing us. "Spill" she demanded

Vin grabbed my hand and was playing with my fingers under the desk. "Yes we're together. Yes it's official, No it's not public yet. No we're not gonna invite other people to join us. We haven't done that but even when we do I'm not telling you about it. I'm private about that kind of stuff."

She pouted. "You suck at details." She turned to Vin. "Vinny gimme the deets" She pouted.

"Yes we're together. As in just the two of us. Pretty much since the party. Turns out I get a little jealous when it comes to him. So stop sitting in his lap. We're not rushing anything. But when we do I'm not telling you either. Dare's not into kissing and telling. The only one he talks to about that stuff is me. I'm not gay, bi or straight. I'm Dare-sexual. Lastly no we haven't made it public yet. We will when he's ready."

She awed at him and pinched his cheek then turned on me. "Are you ashamed that this hottie is yours?" she demanded.

"No of course not, it's just complicated."

She rolled her eyes. "You love him, he loves you. What's so complicated about that?"

"That is what's complicated. All the feelings from the past 17 years just kind of rolled over into now and that's.... complicated. What if we're just confused, what if we don't make it as a couple? I just want to wait to cross that bridge until we're sure about us." I defended.

I squeezed Vin's hand letting him know that I did care about him. I'm just nervous.

"Stop picking on Dare. This is too new and a really big step. If he needs time to make him feel more confident about us, then that's fine. Besides how many couples do you know that go public after only a couple of weeks."

"Umm everyone goes public like the first day. Hello that's what facebook's relationship status thingy is for." She pouted.

"You're forgetting that this is new not just cause we're together but also because we're actually in a relationship and that is something neither of us do, like ever. So if Dare wants a bit more time to feel things out before we go public then that's what I'll give him and you are gonna get on board with the plan short stack."

He ran his thumb across the inside of my wrist and leaned over to my ear. "I'm glad it's not that you're just embarrassed about us. Or me." While he whispered to me his lips brushed my ear and I shivered.

Ariel giggled. "I give it a month before the rest of school figures it out. You two just ooze sexual tension." She stopped giggling and in the most serious voice I had ever heard her use said "Seriously though, I'm so happy for you guys. After everything you both have been through, y'all deserve to be happy. I hope that y'all open up soon. Believe me, you'll be happier when you don't have to hide your feelings. The people that care about you wont care who you love. The ones that get all homophobic can suck it. That just proves that they aren't the people you need in your life."

She leaned forward and gave us both pecks on the check. Vin whispered something to her and she pulled back and nodded. She had tears in her eyes and I noticed he looked pissed for a second before he pulled her back and gave her a fierce hug.

She wiped her eyes and giggled. "Gah I'm such a girl."
