Dare 12 - R

Ryan was staring at the boy across him. He never realized how slow Brendon ate, until he had the chance to watch him barely get to the last bite of his burger. Once there were only stay fries left, Brendon took notice to how Ryan was watching him.

"What?" He asked, feeling self conscious for how he ate. Ryan propped an elbow on the table and rested his chin in the palm of his hand. Tilting his head slight to the side, he gave Brendon a small grin.

"You look adorable when you eat." Brendon turned his attention to his empty plate, face glowing red. "Even more so when you blush."

"You're not supposed to watch me eat," Brendon mumbled as he lightly fanned his hot face with his hand.

"How could I not? I finished before you so what else was I going to do?"

"I don't know." Brendon grabbed his straw wrapper, rolling it to dostract himself from Ryan's comments.

"Hey," Ryan whispered. Brendon peeked up, feeling shy toward the man. Maybe they could leave now. Ryan would need to focus on the road, so Brendon had the chance to get rid of his blush. "I dare you to say yes."

"Say yes?" Brendon questioned as Ryan got to his feet. His eyes widened when the older boy dropped down to one knee in front of him and pulled out a small box from his pocket.

"What are you doing?" Brendon was on the verge of panicking. Ryan only smirked, opening the box to reveal a golden band.

"Brendon," Ryan started, causing Brendon's heart to kick into over drive. This boy was going to give him a heart attack. "The time we've spent together has been the best of my life. I want to continue making more memories together until we're old." Looking around, Brendon noticed that some people were now watching them, anticipating the answer following the big question.

"Brendon." Ryan took the boy's hand gently in his own. "Will you marry me?" Brendon couldn't believe what was happening. That ring wasn't real, it couldn't be. Was he really being proposed to on an early Sunday afternoon at Applebees? He was ready to burst out laughing at the situation, knowing this must've been a joke.

"Yes," Brendon said with a smile, fulfilling his dare. He was proud of himself for not turning pink with embarrassment. There were people applauding them as Ryan slipped the gold band onto his finger. They shared a quick kiss before Ryan sat back across from the boy.

"Did you really make that whole scene for a dare?" Brendon asked. Ryan smirked and took a hold of Brendon's left hand, finger caressing the ring.

"I can't believe you said yes." Brendon rolled his eyes.

"Please tell me that the ring's fake at least." Ryan nodded, easing Brendon's worries. "So why propose after we have lun-"

"Congratulations!" Brendon was cut off as their waiter placed a dessert between the pair. There was a slice of cheesecake with the word 'Congrats' written in chocolate syrup. "I wish you a lifetime of happiness. This is on the house." With that the waiter left them alone again. Brendon turned to Ryan, jaw dropped.

"Did you do that for free dessert," he whispered just loud enough for the other to hear. Ryan eagerly picked up a fork and already had the first bite of cake up to his lips.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Ryan hummed happily as he ate the piece off his fork. Brendon chuckled and shook his head in amusement.

"I feel used." Brendon didn't even try to sound upset as he picked up his own fork and had his share of his celebratory cake. "I'm keeping the ring as compensation for my troubles." Ryan stayed silent, smiling happily at his fake fiance. Not that either would admit it, but they both liked seeing the ring on Brendon's finger.
