CHAPTER TWENTY ONE : "murder plan??"

— sunwoo pov.
- 1st person.

"don't do that again." i tell her strictly. "you might faint at any point. i'll give you something to eat and drink or medicine if you like." i say to her, moving her to the sofa.

her body felt weak and tears were cascading down her face as she struggled to breathe and talk. as i was going to ask her if she needed anything, her eyes close.

out of nowhere, her arms fall from my grip and doah collapses on top of me. the first thing that caught me off guard was the fact our lips had just accidentally touched. i know it wasn't intentional but my mind was going places already.

and the fact i was extremely hungover made my head hurt even more. i needed to do something quickly before her state gets worse and before i think about what just happened.

i panic, slowly moving her body off of mine and lay her down on my sofa. i put my hand on her forehead and quickly walk out to get some water and other things incase she wakes up or something else happens to her.

i arrive back and sit next to her, "doah why are you doing this to yourself? and to me?" i ask with a sigh. why would she run all the way here anyway?

i take out my phone and immediately text donghyuck, not giving a shit if he was still hungover. since i was still really hungover too and i know how crazy he gets if something happens to her.

i sit next to her side and move her hair out of her face carefully, admiring her beauty. i was still thinking about her falling on me and accidentally kissing me which is something i should not he worrying about at the moment.

i don't even know what happened but if she had to run from the campus to my house in a worry then something is definitely going on with taerae. i assumed it was bad as she was crying so much when i saw her. she looked exhausted.

then, my door bursts open and donghyuck and renjun walk in with their faces plastered with concern. donghyuck immediately runs towards doah and lightly pushes me to the side.

"i literally just texted you how are you already here?" i ask in bewilderment.

"i forgot i woke up in renjun's house and he lives opposite you." donghyuck explains, looking down at doah's state.

"so you're saying she ran all the way from campus to here?" renjun asks in worry, watching as donghyuck anxiously looks at his sister.

"yes that's what she told me, but i don't know why." i shrug.

"wait i think i have an idea to why she's here." donghyuck says, taking doah's phone from her pocket. he presses a lot of things and goes on many apps and he frowns.

"jungmin texted her earlier calling her pathetic." he sighs, "i swear to god if this is taerae's fault i will—" he then gets interrupted by a phone call.

i look at the contact and it was sung hanbin. donghyuck answers the phone and puts it on speaker. "hello?" hanbin sounds like he's panicking.

"what's up?" donghyuck asks.

— "okay basically i was walking to the library this morning to give taerae something and i see doah watching something and she's watching jungmin flirt with taerae then talk shit about her calling her ugly and fragile or whatever and jungmin attempted to kiss him but taerae pushed her to the floor but doah had already ran away saying she's going to you so i hope she's with you but taerae's really upset right now." he explains very quickly, his voice echoing through the phone.

we all gasp in shock, looking at each other.

"wait, so jungmin is the reason for this? she's just collapsed at sunwoo's house."

— "taerae's looking for her and trying to call her since i told him doah heard most of it."

"hanbin tell taerae to stay at campus, i'm going to speak to him." i say as i standing up.

"why are you going?" renjun asks me.

"because i'm going to talk to him. you two can stay in my house and do whatever, you should know where most of my things are anyway." i explain before walking out of the door and making my way to the bus stop since i'm not going to take my time walking to the campus. i was going to speak to taerae.

— taerae pov.
- 1st person.

"don't fucking talk to me again." i say vehemently, pointing at her on the floor. "i would apologise for hurting you but you're ruining everything."

"you're pathetic. doah was just listening to what i said." jungmin snickers, standing up. i stand there in shock and she walks towards me and pats my back, "good luck speaking to her. she's going to love hearing the fact you didn't try defend her at all when she was there."

i take jungmin's hand off my back, "fuck off. i mean it. " i scold, raising my voice to make sure she knows how much that affected me.

i walk away to the library and sit where me and doah would usually be, and where we were supposed to have our study date. i take a deep breath and rest my head into my palms in guilt. if only i defended her at that moment. i don't even want to know if i hurt her.

later.

i open my eyes and notice i had fallen asleep. i check the time and i had only slept for about 15 minutes. yet i'm still stressed about jungmin and what she was saying about doah.

i was even more focused on what jungmin said about doah using me to get over sunwoo. i mean, for me it was obvious they had liked each other and i know doah enough to know that wasn't the case. doah would never do that to me. but i always have the 'what if?' thoughts.

i notice a figure moving towards me and i look up to spot hanbin walking towards me with a sympathetic smile. he sits besides me. "i heard everything, doah heard everything. she's with her brother at the moment i think. she's really hurt taerae, when you talk to her you better not screw it up."

i sigh. "i should have defended her, but jungmin talks too much."

"it's not entirely your fault. i don't even think doah is mad at you, i think she's just upset by what jungmin was saying to you."

i shrug, "i'm not sure. she's sensitive, she might think i was at fault."

hanbin shakes his head, "no. she won't. trust me." he says, rubbing my back in comfort. "just make sure you explain yourself and make sure doah trusts you again, she might not as she could think you intentionally talked to jungmin.

i sigh again, "maybe."

hanbin gets a couple notifications from his phone and he stands up, "i have to go, i hope you're okay taerae. don't think too much about it as it isn't your fault." he smiles before walking away, leaving me alone.

i'm so mad at myself. why did i just let all of that slide? especially about a girl i actually like and care about?

i was about to get up to find doah again, but i get stopped when i sunwoo coming towards me with an annoyed face. he sits opposite me and sighs. "so, what exactly did you do?"

i shake my head, "i did nothing to her."

"well she was clearly crying because of you. did you know she ran to my fucking house? because of you? she was crying her eyes out and then she collapsed at my doorstep. do you know how much that's affected her?"

i look at him in distress. "wait, she did that because of earlier?" i'm in shock.

sunwoo scoffs and nods. "i understand that the situation wasn't your fault at all but you have to help me find a way to get rid of jungmin. she's ruining doah's happiness and it's worrying everyone."

i nod, "but, how? you know i have no control on jungmin's actions and i can't always find out what she's been doing to doah."

he stretches his arms and sighs, "well did she say anything that you didn't even know about?"

i nod, "she's been saying that doah is using me to get over you, and that she liked you. apparently she's playing us. i don't entirely believe it but i just want to know what's actually going on between you two."

sunwoo frowns. "wait how the fuck does she even know about that?"

i shrug, "i don't know, hut can you explain it for me?"

he nods. "doah liked me before. she stopped liking me after the dare and i can tell you she's not using you or playing us. she really likes you and even though i still like her that doesn't mean she's playing us."

i was too stunned to even process what sunwoo had told me. so she liked sunwoo right before me? and he still likes her?

i almost choke on my spit before i tried to respond, "okay.. um so you're saying that it's not true right?"

sunwoo looks at me and laughs, "of course. she literally only likes you, i don't know why you're doubting it because of what jungmin said."

i don't even know why i'm doubting doah.

"i was actually going to get angry at you at first but i ran into jungmin on the way and i realised i shouldn't get mad at you at all." he admits, looking at me. "but i still think you need to speak to doah, i heard she's woken up now. do you want to come with me?"

i nod desperately, "i really need to speak to her."

sunwoo gives me a cheeky smile and stands up, "come on then, let's get your girl back before she starts losing trust in you."

i laugh and follow behind sunwoo as he takes me to a bus stop. "okay, thank you."

one good thing about sunwoo is that he's mature. i'm glad that he's not being a bitch like jungmin even though he still likes doah. i can't lie that i still do feel bad for both of them, i felt like a homewrecker but as long as they're both okay i won't mind.

and still, i still really like her.
