time skip —> the next day

yesterday, i ended up not getting the chance to talk to sunwoo's mum as she's kind of gone. so i'll never really get the truth and all of the answers. but all i know is that she's forever going to hate me.

sunwoo and i are fine now, we've sorted most things out and i'm glad we can still be bestfriends with each other since i really missed him. it was a big emotional and we cried a lot.

taerae picked me up from sunwoo's house, and then i told him what happened with seungjae. which, in my opinion, isn't a big deal. but ever since i told him, he's been a bit mad about it.

he still slept over though; we watched movies and talked all night but i could tell he was more lovey dovey to me because of what i said. it was actually really cute, it kind of felt like the first time i met him, since he kept giving me butterflies.

but now we're going to yujin's house. his mum invited us and renhyuck over and we're going to pick them up. i was shit scared, i heard a lot about yujin's parents and she seems lovely. i thought it would be easier for me to meet people these days, but i'm really fucking nervous.

yujin had also told me this morning that he's planning a mini party with his friend group, but told me not to tell anyone since it's kind of a surprise. which, i don't know why he made one but it's yujin. yujin is trustworthy most of the time.

"i'm still mad." taerae says, still looking forward while driving. i completely forgot he has some sort of anger issues that come with jealousy. but it's bad that i find it really cute, shows a lot about our relationship.

i laugh. "still? nothing actually happened you know that right?"

"mmm but knowing he tried something with you twice is quite annoying." he shrugs, "he knows you're dating me anyways, he should know his boundaries." how cute.

"it's nothing. i'm sure he won't do anything anymore. second time he was drunk anyway." i try reassure him.

he laughs. "i know that. babe. but he still touched you." i watch as the lights turn red and taerae turns to me with a smile. "and you also know what i'm like when other people hit on you."

i roll my eyes. "he literally only touched my wrists." which still do hurt, what fucker has hands that strong to grip like that? "oh and so you finally admit to being jealous?" i tease.

"it's just bad to see another cousin of mine hit on someone i like." he shrugs, turning back to face the road. "not jealousy."

"sunwoo liked me first, idiot." i laugh at him. "just admit you were jealous at one point."

"i was the first one who actually tried to do something about my crush on you was i not?" he says, "he was just late for you i guess."

i chuckle. "poor sunwoo, but i'm sure he'll find someone soon anyway."

taerae snorts."who? jungmin?"

"maybe, you never know. they seem close, don't they?" i shrug.

he nods. "if only she wasn't some bitch half of the time. but, you know who else is really close these days?"

"gunyeong?" i ask, them two have been SUPER close these days and the fact they aren't dating is beyond me. they're the cutest teen college silly romance i've seen.

"no, idiot. i mean they are but i'm talking about renjun and your brother." oh right.

i sigh. "they've been at each other's houses almost everyday for the past few weeks, maybe they kiss without telling us, or they're already secretly dating." i say.

i've been suspecting this for a long time. two people who like each other not leaving each other's vicinity for weeks couldn't not have nothing going on. my brother and renjun very clearly like each other, but they're both pussies. donghyuck may be the more confident one, but he's TERRIFIED of rejection, which is stupid as fuck.

"did renjun not tell you he took donghyuck on a study late last night? and he wants to like.. ask him out today?" taerae says, making me almost jump for my seat.

"sorry?" i gasp, "RENJUN'S doing it?" i turn to taerae in shock, not believing what he said. "so he's asking out my brother?"

taerae chuckles. "yeah he was talking to me about it, he finally came to his senses."

well my brother had told me he was planning to do the same today, too.

i facepalm. "fucking finally." and by coincidence, i notice that we were nearing renjun's house. "let me text hyuck." i say.

"renjun's being a pussy." i say to taerae as he parks the car outside of renjun's house. "he's getting nervous over a cheek kiss."

taerae laughs, looking at the texts. "didn't you used to get nervous over my own presence?"

pre-taerae 100% introvert doah was awkward. sometimes i forget i was like that only a few months ago, over taerae too. now that i look at it, i spoke too much on text for my own good. i was absolutely bitchless, like even worse than pre-haerin gyuvin.

i hit his arm. "shut the fuck up. you made me nervous a lot."

he looks at me. "i did nothing and you were scared of me."

"you flirted with me everyday i don't know what you expected from me." i shrug, "you always called me babe too."

he snickers, taking my hand into his softly. "at least i have game, doah."

i scoff. "i texted you first. without that you would never even think of dating me."

taerae kisses my palm. "no, i did have an eye on you at one point. i just didn't know your name."

i roll my eyes, "don't lie now. you had no idea who i was. no one did."

he smiles. "i didn't but i remember finding you pretty on the first day of uni. you were wearing donghyuck's really big hoodie weren't you?"

"what the hell. how? and how the fuck did you know it was donghyuck's?" i look at him.

"when i was in his room last night, i saw it and then it reminded me of that and realised it was you." he explains. "so i've basically always found you cute."

i mean i did wear donghyuck's hoodie on my first day, thinking no one would notice me. but if he's being honest, then that's weird. cause i've never seen taerae until the dare.

i look away. "don't be weird, i didn't even know we were in the same department until you texted me."

he laughs. "now that i think of it, i never really saw you a lot. i wish i did though. you would've been my hallway crush."

i turn back to him. "no you didn't i was some quiet introverted freak."

he squeezes my hand, "you're still a quiet introverted freak, my love." i mean he isn't completely wrong, except i'm not a freak.

"no i'm not! i'm way more extroverted now." i try argue. "it's basically your friendgroup's fault. they're way more active than mine." i make eye contact with him only to notice he's been staring straight at me the whole time.

"you still get nervous all the time. it's obvious you do." he says. "i bet you're nervous to meet yujin's mum, aren't you?"

i scoff. "well yeah because what if she doesn't like me? didn't she meet jungmin and she hated her?"

taerae kisses me hand and chuckles. "she never like jungmin. no one did, so that says a lot. but everyone likes you, i just know she'll love you."

i look at him. "i'm scared though."

he smiles, giving me a quick peck on the lips. "if yujin's mum ends up loving you, you owe me another kiss." he suddenly says.

"why are you always wanting me to do stuff for a kiss? what bribery is this?" i scoff.

"it just makes things fun, doesn't it?" he smiles chuckles, moving a strand of my hair behind my ears. "testing how you see yourself."

i lean onto the carseat, "i never said that she will hate me." i say, squeezing his hand.

taerae snickers. "okay fine, sorry. how about we bet on who asks who out today and whoever is right gets something?" he suggests.

i roll my eyes. "whatever. i'm going to bet on my brother, i still think he's going to do it first."

he smiles, "i bet on renjun, who is also currently walking towards us." i turn around and watch renjun and donghyuck coming towards us, looking like their normal selves.

"took you guys long enough." taerae says from the driver's seat, watching as renjun and donghyuck hurriedly get into the car. "good thing yujin's house is really close to here."

"sorry, renjun's weird." donghyuck complains. "he's so out of it i'm telling you."

"i'm completely fine i don't know what you're talking about!" renjun argues.

"he's not being his normal self at all! doah tell him off!" hyuck says, pointing at renjun.

i scoff. "what kind of study thing did you two do?"

"probably make out." taerae snickers. "or maybe even worse-"

"ew. shut up. i can't imagine my brother being like this." i say, turning the music louder.

"shut up doah. you and your boyfriend are so bad." hyuck tries to change the subject. "always kissing. me and renjun could never!"

"didn't you two make out AND have hickeys before doah and i started dating?" taerae laughs, making renjun gulp.

i make eye contact with renjun from the rear mirror and i start to laugh at his worried face. "renjun are you okay?" i ask, still laughing.

he scoffs. "no, taerae just said something absurd."

"i mean he's not wrong.." donghyuck butts in brazenly, patting renjun's shoulder. "we're just better than you, aren't we jun?"

renjun sighs and nods. "sure.. they're actually a couple though."

"i know right? why aren't you dating yet?" taerae teases. causing the two boys sat in the back to go quiet. i smirk and turn the music louder as i watch the two awkwardly sit next to each other.

time skip —> yujin's house.

— 3rd person.

"my god you're pretty!" yujin's mum says as i walk into the living room. "you're taerae's girlfriend aren't you?"

that was overwhelmingly nice. "yeah.. i am." taerae then walks next to me and puts his arm around my shoulder.

"she's a bit shy." he teases, making me shoot daggers at him. "she's a complete introvert." i look up and him and he only smiles at me.

yujin's mum grins. "no worries!! we're all shy most of the time." the woman smiles at renjun and hyuck as they walk in, "welcome, yujin's oddly way older than him friends. i got sick of yujin's other friends so you can be here for a bit."

yujin snickers. "that's because my school friends are boring, anyways come to the kitchen guys i planned us to bake together! then we can invite everyone here."

"you're throwing a party for frog cakes?" donghyuck snickers.

yujin crosses his arms. "i'm inviting my friend group! we did it last year with haerin."

we follow yujin to the kitchen where everything was already set. "can i have two people to help me and two people to decorate the house?"

"you're being serious about having a mini party?" his mum laughs. "yujin i thought this was just a hang out with them!"

"mum i hope you know it's almost the performers show." he rolls his eyes. "and ME and GUNWOOK are the main part."

"the what show?" renjun asks in confusion.

"sspac yearly show. gyurin did it last year and kissed on stage." yujin explains. "basically a concert for people in that college."

sspac performers stage is something i always get told about. miyeong and haerin are always busy practicing since it's their last year of college before they go to university. it seemed fun, apparently it's what drove gyuvin and haerin to get closer, which is really cute.

but still, me and taerae are cuter.

"ew what?" donghyuck laughs. "in front of all of those parents?"

"blame kum junhyeon. ANYWAYS someone help me bake!" he smiles.

"i will!!" donghyuck and i say at the same time. we share a happy sibling look and lock arms.

"okay renjun and taerae you better fucking decorate." he demands, almost shooing them off.

"wow so i didn't know what i was going to do when i come here and i get forced to decorate your house for a mini party i didn't know about?" taerae crosses his arms.

yujin winks at them. "have fun, my mum will help. NOW GO ALREADY!!" he shouts.

"han yujin don't shout!" his mum scolds him. the other two hurry off leaving donghyuck and i look like we're babysitting yujin. 6 and 7 year difference is not looking good for us.

he turns to us and smiles. "okay let's start, and i was hoping you two would do it. i actually want to ask you some things."

"like what?" i ask, twisting the tap to wash my hands.

"so donghyuck when are you dating renjun?" he suddenly asks, causing donghyuck to almost choke on the glass of water he just sipped.

after taking a moment for himself to breathe, he turns to yujin with an offended face. "excuse me?"

yujin smiles as he hands me a towel. "you know, i invited you two here aswell for a reason."

donghyuck turns to me in shock, i only shrug. but i did force donghyuck to bring renjun here since i'm already certain they're about to date soon.

"well.." donghyuck starts, drying his wet hands with the towel and turning to the island. he checks the door to check if anyone was nearby. when he realises there isn't, and sighs. "well i was planning to do it today but we're at your house so like.."

as i was trying to get a bowl, i almost scream. "you're actually going to ask him today?" i better win the bet that taerae randomly created. donghyuck was the one getting the baking supplies and he hums.

"you know you can still do it. just do it like outside or something, no kissing in my house. my mum basically banned it." yujin says, helping me measure some ingredients.

donghyuck chuckles. "well, when are you inviting your friend group?"

"after we finish these, and the other two decorate properly." he says. "wait let me preheat the oven whoops."

donghyuck laughs. "i've never seen someone to intrigued by other people's love lives more than you, yujin."

i laugh along with him. "deadass. he had a whole jungmin hateclub going."

yujin gets up and puts his hands on his hips. "am i not to be invested?" he asks with some sass in his voice.

i pat his head, even though he was taller than me. "you are yujin, don't worry. it's just funny."

he smiles. "good. now let's actually bake. we can decorate them later on." he says as we're all gathered around the island with dozens of ingredients on the table.

"yujin what fucking angle is that?" renjun laughs at yujin trying to take many photos of the cupcakes on his tiptoes.

"that's so cute." i say, watching him snap a few pictures and turn to us with a smile.

"this one is good, isn't it?" he asks, showing us one photo he took.

"yes, that's perfect." taerae smiles, patting yujin's shoulders. "but don't eat any yet we have to wait for everyone."

yujin nods, "it's fine i can wait."

my phone suddenly buzzes and i unlock it to see a notification from donghyuck who was literally 2 meters away from me.

: should i do it now?

i look up at him and nod. he sends me a smile before tapping renjun and whispering something into his hear. the boy nods and follows my brother outside.

renjun was pretty quiet today, he looked way more nervous than hyuck was and it was actually really adorable.

yujin's mum walks towards us and grins. "are they going to ask each other out?"

i nod. "hopefully." i feel taerae hold my hand. "but, um, let's just go to the living room so they don't think we're stalking them." i say.

yujin and his mum nod and begin to walk towards the living room but taerae stops half way through walking. "excuse us." taerae shyly smiles. "i just need to talk to her."

"no worries. don't do anything weird." yujin jokes before leaving us in the hallway.

i look up at him confusedly. "what are you doing?" he only smiles and pulls me into a room that was fucking cold. "taerae-"

he turns the light on and i notice we're in one of yujin's bathrooms. "don't worry, this is one that they rarely use." he says, locking the door.

"bro what are you doing? they're literally outside." i cross my arms and it didn't last long as he quickly rests one of his hands on the wall and the other snakes around my waist.

"who did you bet on again?" he asks.

i was too confused and i couldn't even look at his eyes again. but he lifts my head up with his index finger. "um, my brother. you know that already."

he giggles and pecks me on the lips. "i just felt like we should hide in here for a bit. i already told yujin."

i finally look at him. "taerae that's so mean, we're their guests and we're hiding in their bathroom?" i say in concern.

he hushes me with his finger. "it's fine. i already have permission. but anyway, our bet."

my hands were on his chest and i begin to play with his necklace. "what about it? we don't know who did it yet."

he smiles. "i know but let's just assume i won-"

"um no. let's assume i won. you always win our bets it annoys me." i laugh, making him sigh.

he rolls his eyes. "okay fine, so we said whoever won would do whatever the other wants?"

"so you want me to tell you to do something i want?" i ask, which he replies with a nod.

i know i'm going to regret this and it's completely the wrong time to do so, but i quickly pull his face closer using his necklace.

"woah, you scared me." he says sarcastically.

"shut the fuck up." i say before pulling him into a short kiss. i break it quickly. "okay, i'll make you do something else later but we're going to stop since this is the wrong place to—"

i was cut off by the piercing, familar sound of my brother's scream. which i could tell, he was really happy. i laugh and look up and taerae. "i think they're dating now?"

taerae nods and lets go of me. "for sure, should we go check and pretend you didn't just kiss me?" he laughs.

i slap his arm. "whatever." i say before unlocking the door and walking out with taerae behind me, holding my hand again.
