"What do you think about this one?"Funmi,my younger sister asked showing me the latest pictures she has taken.She's a fashion addict so I don't blame her.

It was 4:30 in the morning,you'd probably think we're meant to be asleep but we hardly do that.Most times we're usually up in the midnight and asleep all day but today is a school day and I'm so not looking forward to it.

"This one actually looks fine oh."I said sincerely as she swiped to one that I liked.

"Funmi!Dara!are you not awake?!"

Funmi and I locked eyes with each other,it was mum and that means she was going to come here any minute to supposedly wake us up for a new day of school.

Thinking alike both Funmi and I climb on our separate beds and pull our duvets over our heads pretending to be asleep.

Funmi and I share the same room,it contains two beds,a couch,a desk space,a mini fridge,a walk in closet and a flat screen TV and still had enough space for more things.It was pretty big and painted in lavender.We are quite rich but we manage to keep our lifestyles on the low.

I am brought out of my thoughts with the creaking sound of our room door.I really don't want to go to school today.

Am I the only one who feels that way?

I felt mum walk in.Maybe if she see's how peacefully we are supposedly sleeping she'll have mercy and let us sit the day out.

"Eyin omo yi(you this children)."She sighed."Won't you get up,abi you want to be late for school?"

Mummy please just go to your room na,you must be tired,maybe you can take a break from work too.I wanted to say.

Funmi suddenly giggled.I swear if I get a hold of that girl ehn.

I saw the duvet being pulled away from her as I peeped through.

"Mummy now."She whined as if it was not her fault in the first place.

The duvet was suddenly pulled away from my body too.

"You,you think I didn't see your eyes abi,you think I didn't see you peeping.Better stand up and get ready for school."She snapped "Both of you."She said pointing at Funmi.

"Mummy oh,just let us stay at home today."I groaned getting up.

"Mummy what?It's your first day of school,in a new session sef,you are supposed to be happy you are telling me mummy oh,go and get ready joor."She said and left the room,Funmi and I groaned simultaneously in defeat.

The holidays were over so we're resuming in a new session.Funmi would be in Ss1 and I would be in Ss2.At least I'm almost finishing school.

Funmi had her bath first and then I followed suit,by the time I was done she was already clothed in her school uniform.She had been wearing a pinafore before but now that she's in senior school she has the senior uniform too.Getting myself ready I put on my school uniform,which is a plaid red and black skirt and a buttoned up white shirt with the schools logo on the top right side.I knot my yellow and black tie.

I'm surprised that I still know how to knot my tie.

After wearing my socks and school shoes I move over to my hair.I hadn't braided it yet so I just decided to pack it and gel the edges.

"Dara come and eat oh,time is going."Funmi called from downstairs.

I grabbed my school bag and went downstairs to eat.It was a simple bread and tea with jam.

After we were done mum drove us to school.She usually drives us to school before work.Dad was currently in Dubai sealing a deal,he's barely around but whenever he is he tries his best to make up for the lost times.

The car halted and I realised we were finally at the gates of Sunville Academy.Getting down we waved mum a goodbye as she drove of to work.

"Are you ready for your first day of senior school?"I asked Funmi who.

"Abeg it would just be like the same thing."She shrugged.

"Okay oh,you are on your own."I told her.Senior school is like a whole new stage,well she'll understand herself sha.

We waved each other goodbyes and went to get our class notes.When I had gotten to the Ss2 forum it was filled up and I even saw some unfamiliar faces,must be new students.

"Dara!"Someone suddenly ran to give me a hug.It was Bolanle,one of my very close friends,along with Toyosi,Kiitan and Daniel.I don't have a best friend,I just don't like keeping one but these guys can be classified as my best friends.

"Hi guys."I smiled giving them a hug one by one.

"Shege you've grown tall oh."Kiitan gasped.Have I really grown that tall?

"But she's still chipmunk size compared to us."Toyo laughed and the rest of them followed earning a glare from me.

I know I'm short but I'm not that short.

"Everyone should move to the assembly hall now."Rachel the schools head girl said.I just hate it when prefects give us orders,but it's what they are meant to do sha,it's not as if I will not do it too if I become a prefect.

"Everybody should move to the assembly hall now."Toyo mimicked.

Something is wrong with this girl I swear.

It's as if it's tradition in every set to disrespect seniors,some sha,a few of them are acceptable.You'd think as their immediate juniors we'll get along but we don't oh.

"Who said that?"Rachel snapped.There were still a few people left in the class so she couldn't point fingers.No one answered we all just stared at her and she let it slide.Rachel wasn't all that bad,she was actually one of the acceptable ones among her set mates,it's just that we like looking for trouble and annoying them,but sometimes she too has a loose bolt somewhere.

Her eyes shifted to Kiitan."Hi."She batted her eyes."I sent you a message yesterday but you probably didn't see it."She gushed.

Oya now probably.

This girl is not okay oh,he's your junior for crying out loud.

Kiitan is one for his look,he's actually one of the finest boys in our set so girls rush him,but this one Rachel is doing is on another level.

Kiitan only nodded and left for the hall,and we followed suit.

He just snubbed Rachel,this guy has small sense sha.If it's some other boys they'll start forming because senior girl is talking to them.

As we got to the assembly hall it was already filled up,we went over to our set side and saw a few vacant spaces where we took our sit.

"Good morning students."The principal said.

I'm just wondering...do all principals in this country team up to have bald heads,I mean it's literally shining and I have the urge to slap his head.

I know I'm weird.

After a while we were done with assembly and given our schedules for the new session.Bolanle,David and I were in the same class as usual and guess what?

We have math first.Math is like the most annoying subject ever thought of.So now if I want to become a doctor would I start solving Pythagoreans theory to give injection or what?All these things are irrelevant abeg.

Bolanle and I headed to the class while David said he'd catch up with us.As we got in we took our sits in the middle row and Mr.Jacob our math's teacher walked in.

As we call him behind his back,Mr.Pot belly.

"Don't think I would tell you children welcome to another semester oh."He started "I've been taking my time to rest since so don't think I'm happy to see you."He concludes placing his suitcase and the desk.

Nawa for this man oh,as if we're happy to see him.

Just then someone walks in with our school principal.

"Good morning sir."We all chorus getting up.He greets us back and allows us to take our seats.

"You have a new student in your class,please introduce your self to them and take your seat."He says as he walks out of the class.

"Hey everyone,my name is Olabowale Martins but you can call me Ola."
