Are we there yet? The Seer—that is I—have looked into the universes and can proudly tell you that we have a long way to go. As I have done before, my duty lies in telling the story of two souls across these universes to the best of my ability.

While I have seen countless endings, both good and bad, I will not interfere. I cannot. The higher-ups will have my head, and as The Seer, I have developed an attachment to it. Sorry about that. I am legally bound to stand on the side and record everything I perceive. Proof of that is this compilation of my field notes that you now have in your possession.

This time, Dara and Page face a different ending on their own. I have seen worlds end in my lifetime, and I can proudly say I am not fond of them.

This is an entry for Aim to Engage 2023, hosted by the Ambassadors profile. This is a contest that runs from November to December, where a flash fiction or a short story must be produced according to a set of prompts. As such, this story is based on the following prompts:

16 - You've been wanting to be an astronaut traveling through space since you were a child, and on your first trip to space, you discover an uncharted planet full of surprises.

12 - In a post-apocalyptic world, a group of survivors stumble upon a library and realize that the stories within might hold the key to rebuilding society.
