Seeing Dante Again Part 3

The next morning I drag myself to take a quick shower and drag myself downstairs to open the front door and pick up the morning paper. Glancing through it as I make my way to the kitchen to make myself a pot of coffee, a loud sounding truck forced me to look out the window in the laundry room. I lift the blind to get a better view and notice Mr. and Mrs. Cooper making their way down the porch steps. I then notice the truck is a big moving truck and I quickly make my way up to my bedroom and throw a pair of blue-jean shorts, and a purple tank top on. I then pull my hair into a messy bun and slip my flip-flops on. I'm in my back yard, I wave at them and make my way over to them.

"Mr. and Mrs. Cooper. Are you moving?" I ask.

"Oh no dear, our grandson is moving in with us to help us take care of our farm that we are just getting too old to take off by ourselves," Mrs. Cooper smiles.

"Aww, well, that is so nice of your grandson wanting to move in with you and help take care of your farm.

"He is such a sweet young man. He will be arriving very soon. He is coming all the way from Ohio and he went ahead and hired some men to bring this moving truck. We extended our barn and put a nice living area in there, so that's where he will be staying."

"Oh yes, I did hear the construction for a few months. The outside of your barn looks fantastic."

"Come, dear, I will give a you tour" she says as she grabs my hand leading me in the back of the farm. Once we're inside I smile seeing how beautiful it looks. The front area of the barn is this beautiful living area, and the back is where all the farm animals stay.

"This is absolutely beautiful, Mrs. Cooper. I'm sure your grandson will love staying here. He will do have everything he will need,"

"Aww, thank you, dear. We really wanted him to feel comfortable, and feel at home here. It was his idea to move here and not only help take care of the farm but to help take care of us, who just can get around like we used to," she sighs. I place my hand on her back and take hold of her arm to help her sit on the sofa in front of the fireplace.

"I am more than happy to help you and Mr. Copper until your grandson gets her. I can go pay your bills, I can go grocery shopping for you, I can take you and Mr. Cooper to your doctor appointments. I can help cook and clean. Whatever you need me to help you do, I will be more than happy to help."

"That is so kind of you, Ava. You know, I really wish you were younger, then I could set you up with my grandson," she smiles causing me to wonder how much younger her grandson is?"

"If you don't mind me asking, Mrs. Cooper, how old is your grandson?"

"Oh, he's still very young. He's only twenty-two years old."

"Wow! Yeah, he is very young. I'm old enough to be his mother," I sigh.

"Ava, are you alright? I know the pain from that horrible night has never gone away, and it never will. I saw your husband moving some things out, and I know this is none of my business, but are you now a single lady?"

"Yeah, looks like my marriage is now over. I'm surprised we lasted this long, especially considering that horrible night. I guess we both were just so broken, that was the very beginning of our marriage falling apart."

"I'm so sorry, Ava. Who knows maybe another guy will come along and surprise you. Maybe it will be an unexpected destiny, and maybe turn into love."

"I'm not sure about that. I'm not even divorced yet, I really don't think I'm ready for another relationship. Not so sure if I can trust another man," wipe away my tear.

"No, honey. Whatever your destiny now holds, it finds a way to force you to accept it. Just because one chapter in your life comes to an end, does not mean another chapter won't start, and all the other chapters after this one could end up being the most amazing chapters of your life."

"Part of me hopes you're right, Mrs. Cooper, but I'm not holding my breath. I really want to get back to work. I used to design purses before I got married, and before that tragic night. I really think that's what I'm going back to doing."

"Good for you, Ava. You can be independent, and be open-minded enough to at least think about finding a man who will deserve you."

"Ok, how about this? I get myself back to work, work on me for a while, and then just maybe I will consider dating?"

"Don't worry, Ava. Your destiny is already planned out. It will help you be happy with the right guy and maybe throw in some unexpected fun."

"How can you be so sure of that, Mrs. Cooper?"

"Because dear, Mr. Cooper is my second husband. Once I stopped running from finding love again, where he was. I literally ran right into him," she says and my mind for some reason thinks back running into Dante. But I quickly push that thought aside remembering how young he is.

"Is something on your mind, dear?"

"Oh no, I was just thinking about this guy I literally ran into last night, but I have no intentions of going there, he is young enough to be my son."

"Oh, well, is he of legal age?" She asks and sends me into complete shock.

"Yeah, I really think he is, but he can't be any older than maybe twenty, twenty-two."

"Well, it's not like he's underage. Maybe you should be willing to at least get to know him," she says causing my mouth to drop open.

"Mrs. Cooper, you know how old I am."

"I know you're forty-five, Ava. You're not even in your fifties, he's in his twenties, he isn't underage."

"Wow! Ok, I guess I'm a little taken back you're telling me to start something with a boy in his twenties."

"No, Ava, not a boy, I'm a fully grown man," a familiar voice echoes in the room. I turn my head to see the young, good-looking, sexy guy from last night. I quickly stand to my feet and feel my heart thumping.

"Oh my god, Dante. What are you doing here, did you follow me home?" I snap. He bends down close to Mrs. Cooper and kisses her cheek.

"Hello grandma. You and grandpa no longer have to worry about taking care of the farm, I'm now here to help take care of the farm and both of you. And take care of someone else," he grins.

"Oh god, wait, you're Mr. And Mrs. Cooper's grandson?" My shocked voice asks him. He stands up extending his hand out towards me.

"Hello Ava, I'm Dante Cooper. I am really looking forward to getting to know you better," he licks his lips and winks.
