Chapter One

"Mr. Boulder?"

He turned around to see his secretary standing by the door to his office. He saw her holding a few yellow folders in her hand. The blonde young woman seductively smirked at him. He ignored her actions and with a small motion to his hand, he told her to come forward. He watched her set the folders down on his desk in front of him. She then opened the folders for him to sign the papers inside.

"What are these papers for?" He asked as he grabbed them to look them over before signing them. He wasn't one to sign something without reading it or having his lawyer take a look at it first.

"For the new company that you want to buy, sir." His secretary told him.

He sighed to himself, he had completely forgotten about it. He wanted to extend his company in Japan, but now that he's looking over the papers, he wasn't so sure about what he wanted now.

"I'll look over them." His secretary nodded her head in understanding. "leave me." He said in an annoyed voice once he notice that his secretary was waiting to be dismissed by him. She excused herself before quickly making her way out his office. He watched her as she almost tripped on her black high heels.

He wondered why she even wore those types of shoes if she couldn't even walk in them. He shook his head and set the folders aside. He'll have his lawyer look over them for him. He wasn't in the mood to look them over himself.

He sighed again, grabbed his keys and his black leather jacket from his chair. He needed to get out, he wasn't feeling it today. He just wanted to go home and relax in his office with a glass of whiskey in hand.

He exited his office and made sure to lock the door. He walked pass his secretary's desk who just stared at him as he walked straight to the elevators. He usually did this when he wanted to be alone and his secretary already knew that.

She picked up the phone, she'll have to call to reschedule the few meetings that her boss was having today.

The elevator doors opened, "Dante?"

He looked up to see his friend staring at him with a smirk on his lips. He knew that his friend already knew that he was ditching work.

"Going somewhere?" Dante stepped inside the elevator as his friend stepped aside to let him in.

"I'm going home, I'm not feeling well." His friend raised an eyebrow at him. He knew that Dante was just trying to get away from his responsibilities.

"Dante, you can't keep doing this," he told him. "This is the 3rd time this week." Dante ignored him. He could do whatever the hell he wanted. This was his company and he would do as he wished.

"You don't seem to understand." Dante whispered at his friend.

His friend looked at him with a questionable look, "then explain to me what's going on?"

Dante stayed quiet. He wasn't sure if he should tell him or not. No one would believe him if he said what his problem was. He couldn't trust anyone, and that including his friend.

"Dante?" Dante ignored him, the elevator came to a stop and the doors slid opened.

"How about if we go get ourselves a drink, Dimitri?" Dimitri looked at Dante, it was barely 9am and he already wanted a drink this early in the morning.

"Come on, I'll pay." Dante told him.

"Well in that case, I can't refuse."

*

Dante and Dimitri sat at an empty bar, both with a glass of whiskey in hand. Dimitri kept looking at Dante who seemed to be in deep thought and only occasionally taking a drink from his glass.

"You need a distraction to get that brain of yours to relax." Dante looked up from his glass to Dimitri who was looking at the time on his watch.

"I'll tell you what, I'll pick you up tonight exactly at 10 and I'll take you to my favorite place." Dimitri told him.

Dante laughed, he already knew where Dimitri's favorite place was at.

"I'll pass." He said.

Dimitri got up from his bar stool, he quickly swallowed back the last of his drink. "Where are you going?" Dimitri put his glass down.

"Unlike you, I actually care about your company." He told Dante. "But I'll pick you up exactly at 10," Dimitri said as he headed towards the exit of the bar. "And you better not cancel!" He shouted as the door closed.

Dante smiled. He knew he wouldn't be able to get himself out of this one. He pulled out his wallet and set a couple bills on the bar before making his way home.

*

Dante sat at the dinner table with a plate of steak in front of him. He looked at the meat as he grabbed the fork. He didn't feel like eating anything, he wasn't even hungry.

"Sir? Would you like some more whiskey." Dante looked at his glass to see that it was empty. He didn't even notice when he had finished his drink.

"Bring me the whole bottle." He told the maid who nodded her head and quickly left to get the glass bottle of his favorite whiskey.

Dante looked towards the doors that lead to the dinner table to see them being pushed open. Dimitri stood there with a gray suit and his hair perfectly jailed back.

"You're 10 minutes early." Dimitri smirked as he walked towards Dante. He pulled out the chair closest to Dante and sat himself down.

Dimitri looked at the plate in front of Dante and saw that it hadn't even been touched. He pulled the plate of steak towards him. "Thank you for the food." He said as he grabbed the fork from Dante's hand and a table knife.

Dante wasn't amused to see his friend eating his untouched food.

The maid retuned with the bottle in hand. As she set the bottle down beside Dante on the dinner table, Dante grabbed her by the arm to stop her from moving.

He took the bottle from her hand and set it down on the table himself. "I want you naked on your bed, with your legs spread open for me once I get back." He told her.

The maid turned completely red from embarrassment as Dante said that to her. She could see Dimitri trying to hold himself back from bursting out loud in complete laughter.

Dante stood as he let go of the maids arm. When he saw that she wasn't moving he looked at her with an annoyed expression on his face.

"Why are you still here?" The maid pulled her head down and excused herself. Once she disappeared from the dining room, Dimitri burst out in laughter.

"Oh god, what was that all about?!" He spoke through his laughing.

Dante looked at him, unamused about the whole thing. "Aren't we going to be late?" He told Dimitri who was sill laughing.

"Did you see her face? That what priceless!" He kept laughing. At this point Dante was getting annoyed at his friend.

He grabbed the sharp knife from the table without giving Dimitri enough time to react, and pointed it towards Dimitri who quickly stopped laughing. "Shut the fuck up," Dante hissed at him.

Dimitri put both his hands up in surrender. "Okay, okay, let's go, boss." He said. He stood up and lead the way. Dante set the knife down before following Dimitri out the dinner room.

They walked passed the stair case and out the front door. The house was quiet, even outside.

Dimitri unlocked the doors to his black car and got on the drivers seat. As Dante was about to open the door on the passengers side, something stopped him.

He turned around to look back at his home. He was getting a strange feeling inside of him as his eyes tried to find something.

The wind around him suddenly got cold, the temperature outside felt like it had dropped 30 degrees in less than 10 seconds.

Dante turned his head to the side, his eyes were now on the tall green tree standing outside on his front yard.

He suddenly noticed a black shadow standing by the tree. "Dante?" Dimitri put the window down and called out to him. He was taking long just to get inside the car and Dimitri was already getting inpatient.

"Dante?" Dante ignored him, he found himself slowly walking towards the shadow that hadn't moved. He felt like he had seen that shadow before, the presence of the shadow felt old to him.

"What is that?" He whispered to himself. He stopped a few feet away from the shadow. The shadow was black, it had the shape of a tall male.

He knew the shadow wasn't from this world, but even so, he felt attracted to it. He could feel the negative energy that the shadow was giving off.

Dante suddenly felt fear, he felt the same fear that he hadn't felt in such a long time.

"Don't forget me." He heard the distant voice.

The shadow turned into a black cloud and flew directly in his direction. Dante saw it coming towards him and he quickly put his hands in front of him to protect himself.

A heavy, cold wind flew pass him, causing him to take a few steps back. He felt like he was suffocating, he felt like he was drowning. He fell to his knees and started coughing and heavy breathing to try to get oxygen into his lungs.

"Dante?!" He heard Dimitri shout and run towards him. "What happened? Are you alright?"

All Dante could do was shake his head. He wasn't so sure of what he just saw and felt. All he knew was that whatever that thing was, obviously wanted him to remember.
