Chapter 19

"Luciel, do you know of any ghost that likes to bully instead of killing and such?" you stood in the kitchen stirring in the soup.

The raven haired male looked up, "Several. Anything specific in mind?" he questioned curiously.

"I think there is a ghost that gets Danny in trouble, a lot".

A frown appeared on Luciel's face. "(y/n) are you mixed with something dangerous?" he asked with a dark voice.

"Nothing I can't handle" you shrugged and turned to him with two filled bowls of soup. "Any new ghosts in my school?" you asked as you served the soup.

Luciel paused, studying your expression and behaviour. When you took a seat he sighed, "a ghost is disguised as a human at your school. Not one I have a contract or partnership with" he stated starting on the soup.

"Is it a woman with red hair and green eyes?" you questioned arching a brow.

Luciel paused, "yes".

You turned back to your soup in thought. That would explain why Danny was so stressed and anxious. It would explain the incident of the baby clothes and the way she handled the fire alarm incident. The two things that didn't made any sense were, why didn't she trigger the ghost sense? And why does she do this? What does she achieve by making Danny miserable?

Sipping thoughtfully on the soup you went over all the events where the shrew was present. The fire alarm, the cold of the water could have prevented from any suspicion. You blinked in surprise. You heard more about the woman than actually encountered her. 'I need to call Danny after diner' you concluded.

After finishing up diner and cleaning up you sat down on the bed and took up the phone. You dialled his phone number but no answer was put through. With a frustrated grunt you waited for him to call back. Seconds became minutes and the minutes turned into a full hour of lazing around.

"Luciel, I'm going out" you announced. A grunt from the hallway confirmed that he had heard you. With a sly smile you stretched your body, a pair of glowing blue rings appeared around your middle and stretched over your body. A small jump into the air caused your body to float. "It's been way to long" you chimed before turning intangible and dashing out of the room into the night sky.

Fists pointed to the way ahead, you laughed with glee at the wind playing with your flaming blue hair. "Let's see if I can spook him out of the house" you grinned to yourself and made way for Fenton works. As you arrived you hovered behind the closed window of Danny's bedroom. He seemed a bit less down than this evening, but still not quite himself.

As you approached you could see a shudder run along Danny's spine. A misty breath left Danny's mouth, his head snapping to the window where you floated with a taunting grin. His eyes narrowed and mid run out of the room he turned ghost. "Come on ghost boy!" you chimed dashing into the night sky. "Let's see if you can keep up!" you laughed. Danny looked dumbfounded but did not hesitate to chase after you.

"Hey! You are Knightwalker right?!" Danny yelled, a realisation of recognition hitting him.

"In the flesh!" you laughed, "or rather, ectoplasm". A low chuckle could be heard behind you and it made your heart a little bit lighter. The worry of him immediately attacking on sight disappearing completely.

It didn't take long for the both of you to come outside of the city. Whenever Danny threatened to overtake you, you turned sharply and made a slight round about to the destination.

"I win" you smirked as Danny arrived seconds later. He frowned, "you could have flown in a straight line" he huffed crossing his arms. You gave a shrug and sat down on a large rock. The sight from Mount Amour was breath-taking. If memory served you right, this mountain was called Amour for its romantic view of the city and the starry night. The stars shown in their full beauty, no lights around to disturb the sight.

"Why are you in Amity Park?" Danny questioned carefully, landing in front of you on a close by rock. You looked over at him, "What do you think?"

He crossed his arms, an annoyed look on his face. "Disturbing my peaceful life? Hunting me? Destroying Amity Park? Oh I don't know, kill my friends?" he grunted cynical.

This had you frown, "Do I look like such a ghost to you?"

"Any ghost has one of these objectives one way or another" he growled, "why should you be different?"

"Cause I'm not the average ghost" you retorted, you may have flaming blue hair like Amber and red eyes like the angry dragon prince, but you had humanity, at least, you thought you did.

"To me you look similar to ghosts like Ember and Kitty. Not really a comforting thought" he retorted.

It felt weird, having Danny act so cold towards you. What was even weirder, was the fact that in the race just now he was sometimes laughing and even though he was confused, it was visible he enjoyed it.

"Well, I am not. I'm flattered you compare me to them though, they are one of the prettier ghosts. Can't say so much for Lunchlady, Walker, Skulker... you get the gist" you huffed sprawling one leg over the other. Keeping up the playful air around you. It kept the tension you wanted to avoid at a little distance.

Danny seemed to hold back a chuckle as he stood before you. The boy was puzzled with your behaviour. It was unlike any other ghost he had encountered. He could actually form a conversation with you without being attacked. Thinking back on your first meeting, you did seem odd from the start.

"Still didn't answer my question" Danny stated, eyes narrowing.

"I am here to warn you" you shrugged and leaned back on you hands. "There is a ghost in your school wearing human skin" -Danny's eyes narrowed further - "Besides you".

His eyes narrowed. "And how do you know that?"

He had no reason to trust your ghost half whatsoever. "I have my sources. The ghost is making everyone moody, stressed, depressed. She finds the smallest tear in your mind and keeps picking at it until you turn into a wreck".

Realisation struck across Danny's face, he didn't show it long though. "Why are you telling me this?" A ghost of a smile formed on your pale lips. "You are a hero right? Heroes can only fight when they know their enemy".

"Hey! I'm no hero" he stammered, his voice turning quiet.

"The ghost boy, hunted by men, yet saved so many" you mused, gaining his attention. "I would never do such thing". He tilted his head in confusion as to why you, as a 'full-fledged ghost', would even consider such a thing.

"Well, my part is done" you stated jumping up and patting off your white pants.

"Wait, that's it?" He asked incredulous.

"Yeah" you stated putting your hands on your hips.

"Aren't you going to- I don't know. Help me get rid of the ghost?"

"I think you can handle it" an out of character smile appeared on your lips, "I trust you". Danny's mouth opened to say something but fell to deaf ears as you teleported home.

With a sigh you changed while falling on the bed, staring at the ceiling. "Yeah I trust you" the words sounding foreign in your ears, yet they felt true.

The next day you met up with Danny and the others at school. Decorations were everywhere. The Casper Spirit week had 'finally' began. To be honest, you had already forgotten all about it. Especially as no one in the school seemed spirited. Well, with the exception of Lancer, he was way too cheerful.

"Hey (y/n)!" Tucker called out as soon as he saw you.

"Hey guys" you smiled and took a place opposite of Tucker and Danny and next to Sam. Realizing the serious faces you frowned. "What's wrong?" you questioned.

"Last night the ghost girl-"

"Dude, she doesn't know about her. That was before she knew about you" Tucker interrupted and turned to you. "Basically, this girl ghost looks a bit more human than most ghosts and doesn't attack Danny. Next to that, she came last night to him and warned him about a ghost in human skin, aka spectra" he elaborated, getting a short glare from Danny. He probably wanted to tell it himself.

"So... like another good guy like Danny?" you questioned feigning ignorance.

"We don't know that for sure" Sam interjected.

"We can at least check it out. Everyone is depressed like she said. Only you three, who haven't gone to Spectra have been in high spirits" Danny retorted. "True, compared to everyone here, I am miss sunshine" Sam snorted looking at all the discouraged faces.

"So we are going to test if we get depressed?" you frowned. "That's the plan" Tucker nodded. "You in?" Sam looked at you, a mix of reluctance and distrust in her eyes. "I think two victims for her is enough" you said uneasily. Danny gave a curt nod and looked from Sam to Tucker. "Let's go".

"I hate my life".

"I hate your life more" Sam groans at Tucker. They both slouched as they slugged out of Spectra's office. You glanced around the corner as Spectra waved them off and disappeared back inside. "Shall we go to the atrium?" you questioned walking up to the two.

Sam glared at you, "a spirit speech. Just what we need" she hissed sarcastically.

You rolled your eyes, "seems the ghost girl was right" you said taking both Tucker's and Sam's arm, dragging them into the atrium and seating them. Just as you turn on your heel to look if Danny needs help Sam spoke up in a sneering manner, "and where do you think you are going?"

Looking back over your shoulder you see Sam with defiantly crossed arms, suspicion in her eyes. "To see if Danny needs any help" you said in a hushed manner, not wanting any attention from the surrounding people.

"Oh, so now you suddenly want to help?" Sam mocked. A frown creased your eyebrows. "Yes, I think a not depressed person is more of a help Right now" you emphasised.

"WE have been helping out longer than you have. I don't think you will be more of a help than we would. Even in this state" Sam hissed, challenge in her eyes.

Arguing about helping. What a fool

Agreeing with the voice inside you didn't take the bait and just turned away. "I'll see you la-" your eyes grew as they fell upon the podium where two massive satellite like machines stood that both were aimed at the spot of the speaker. "You got to be kidding".

"What now?" Sam growled. Turning to her with a glare you started, "don't you think those satellite like things are a bit out of context?"

"Those are the cannons for the spirit sparklers" Tucker muttered looking over at the podium with a absentminded gaze. What had spectra done to him to make him like that? Take his technology?

"Cannons don't look like satellite-"

"Everyone take your seats!" Lancer announced. Gritting teeth in frustration you skipped the seat next to Sam and sat down next to Tucker.

Instead of watching the speech your mind and eyes were trained on the 'Sparkle cannons'. They were definitely something else. Lasers to blow something up would be more believable. Your eyes widened at the thought. 'I can't change or leave in the middle of a speech!' you mentally scolded yourself for not seeing it sooner. They were aimed at the speaker, they were going to blow up Danny's sister! 'I need to save- wait, why do I need to safe someone who I barely know?' you shook your head, 'now is not the time to question actions'.

You glanced over to Tucker, he seemed a bit clearer than before. His eyes focused on Jazz as he listened to the speech. You poked his side gaining a scowl, and with that his attention. You leaned over to his ear, "Something is wrong and I have to fix it" you whispered. Tucker looked incredulous at your vague description.

"I'm at the toilet" you whispered with a wink before sneaking past the seats and out of the atrium. While leaving you could feel the glare of Sam on your back. 'Great, now she doesn't only distrust me but probably hates my guts' you thought sarcastically.

Your walk turned into a sprint until you reached to toilet and hid in a stall. "I'm dying" you whispered to yourself with a soft chuckle. A pair of blue rings appeared and changed your body to your alter ego. "It's better than going ghost" you mused softly as you flew off. Turning invisible you stood behind Jazz as she finished her speech, your hands ready to grab and take her away. You also could try to dismantle the machinery, but their technology far exceeds high school knowledge. Probably.

The domino's were pushed. Before the last one fell and pushed the button to unleash the 'sparkles', you grabbed Jazz by the middle and flew through the wall behind you. Jazz Squealing with fright as she's suddenly backstage, you could hear a loud bang from the stage.

While Jazz looked frantically around, Danny appeared from the way you came. His eyes widening as relieve washed over his face. "I'm so glad she's alright" he whispered to himself, causing Jazz to look up at him. You rolled your eyes and turned visible behind Jazz. "Did you take the others out?" you questioned dryly. Jazz whirled around at the sound of your voice behind her and slowly backed away. Danny eyed you suspiciously before a smile appeared. He had figured out that you were the one to safe his sister. "Not y-" a yelp escaped his lips, when a panther like creature came from the wall and tackled him through the other. Jazz gasped and followed after, through the door.

'I could-' your thoughts stopped as Luciel appeared before you. "That's quite enough heroics for one day" he stated grimly.

"I wasn't heroic" you retorted crossing your arms.

"You could have been blasted, together with that girl" he snapped. A shudder ran over your spine, the tone making your stomach drop.

"Luciel, I'm okay. I had everything under control".

He looks you up and down, "don't do anything foolish fairy".

"I already told you. I won't" you gave him a smug smirk, "just following my path to humanity. Like you want" you mused, using his words against him.

He blinked in surprise and a scowl of annoyance formed. "Sly little sister".

"Yours truly" you mused, his scowl turned into a smirk as he disappeared in thin air.

Making quick work of going back to the atrium you appeared just in time to see everyone gaining their spirits and calling for an encore from Jazz. A smile tugged at your lips when you took a seat next to Tucker who looked surprised up. "How did you-"

"Didn't do anything. Danny saved the day" you assured him.

Sam looked over and gave a smile, "of course". We all turn our heads as Jazz is practically dragged back by a broad smiling Lancer. Everybody burst out into a cheer. Your eyes however, followed Danny as he came from a side door and took a seat next to Sam with a sister adoring smile on his face.

'I'm glad I saved her' you decided with a smile, watching the rest of the performance of cheerleaders and a speech from Lancer.

--------------------------

heey, it's been a long time (like usual, sorry for that) buuuut i was wondering which episodes people would like to see incorperated in this story. I think I kind of skipped over Valerie and her hunter alter ego, but perhaps by twisting the chronological order i could still put it in here. But do people want that? personally i think introducing another 'main' character which is not OC into the story  is a bit troublesome. It kind of switches the focus of the story of the reader into the life of Danny and that is not my purpose. I was planning to make this with the reader as a main point.

Anyway, i really look forward to comments ^^
