Chapter 5: Danny's Fifth Christmas
They landed in a pile of snow in front of Fenton Works and Danny shook his head from the snow on top.
"What are we doing here?" Danny wondered.
"You don't remember this Christmas?" Youngblood asked.
Danny shook his head.
"This was when you first met Jamie," Youngblood told him.
"What?" Danny questioned.
They went up to the Fentons' house to see there was a party.
"Oh yeah. I remember this. Jamie and her family had just moved here a week prior to this. So my parents invited them and made it a welcome party," Danny explained.
They looked in the window to see everyone enjoying themselves except for Jack and Maddie, who were fighting over Santa's existence as usual.
Then Danny looked in the corner to see himself at five years old sitting criss cross applesauce, just angry about the whole thing.
"Hey. That's me," Danny said.
Danny phased through the wall, then remembered he just came in as Danny Phantom.
"Oh no," he remarked.
But then he noticed no one was freaking out.
"Uh...Youngblood, why aren't they scared?" Danny asked.
"Ghost Writer made it to where no one would be able to see you. Invisible or not," Youngblood answered.
"Okay. He really went all out for this, didn't he?" Danny said.
"Yep. Now watch," Youngblood instructed.
Danny looked over to his younger self. The child looked around angrily until he stopped and went from angry to a dreamy look. Danny followed his gaze to see Jamie at five years old.
"I think I found a Christmas miracle," five-year-old Danny said and got up.
Danny blushed as Youngblood smirked at him.
"Jamie was your Christmas miracle? Aww, that's so sweet," Youngblood said in a teasing tone.
He turned his back to Danny, hugged himself, and made kissing noises. Danny rolled his eyes as Youngblood laughed when he turned around.
"You love her, don't you?" Youngblood asked.
Danny blushed so much as he stumbled over his words. Then he sighed defeatedly.
"Okay, yeah. I do. But after what I told her tonight, she'll never want to see me again," Danny answered.
"You never know," Youngblood said.
They watched as five-year-old Danny walked to five-year-old Jamie. They introduced themselves and got to talking for a while.
"So, you like Christmas?" five-year-old Danny asked.
"Yeah. I love it! What about you?" five-year-old Jamie wondered.
"Not entirely. All that happens is my parents fight over if Santa's real," he answered honestly.
"Oh, that's not fun," she said.
"No, it's not. But one good thing came out of this Christmas," five-year-old Danny admitted.
"What's that?" five-year-old Jamie asked.
"I got to make a new friend," he answered.
"Aww, thanks," she blushed.
Danny smiled at this. Remembering when they met really helped him through Christmas. It meant the world to him that Jamie was always there for him from that moment and on.
"Come on. I got more to show you," Youngblood said.
Danny nodded and they grabbed the Infi-Map.
"Take us to Danny's eighth Christmas," Youngblood told it.
