XXVII
It was a summer wedding in the late afternoon. The sunset made the scene more breathtaking. At the end of each seated aisle, jasmine scented candles hung from naked tree branches. There were a small group of close friends dressed in beach attire. On either side of the aisle, they sat in white chairs set up for them on the sand.
"Chaeyoung breathe," Jisoo chuckled as Chaeyoung began pacing back and forth to deal with the anxieties. Only five minutes remaining before her wedding begins. She was nervous just like the first time she went on the date with him. Heck, she is always nervous around Jungkook.
"I think I am going to throw up. I cannot do this," Chaeyoung said, holding her stomach.
"Chaeyoung, you will be fine. Jungkook is also as nervous as you," Taehyung walked in.
Taehyung's expression softened at the sight of Chaeyoung. They both deserved each other. "Are you ready?"
Chaeyoung took a deep breath before nodding her head. Taehyung smiled and patted her head, "Good, because if you don't marry him, I know plenty of women who would."
Finally, the priest came out and asked everyone to stand. Now, it was Chaeyoung's turn. The flower girl lined the path with white rose petals as the music started. Taehyung escorted her down the aisle. The guests looked at the beautiful bride, taking pictures of her, waving at her with a smile on their faces.
Chaeyoung made it halfway down the aisle. Jungkook was standing there, so handsome in his tuxedo. Jungkook looked at his bride, layered in lace and silk, and grinned. She was gorgeous and all his. She was everything he'd ever wanted. Jungkook straightened his posture and stood tall. Chaeyoung could have sworn tears filled his eyes.
At the end of the aisle, Taehyung placed her hand in Jungkook's and smiled, "Welcome to the family."
As a couple, Jungkook and Chaeyoung stood in front of the priest. They took turns reading their letters they wrote for each other. Jungkook's letter contains his first impression of Chaeyoung. It was funny at first but soon later, it got romantic. Jungkook cried like a baby while reading his letter.
The priest asked if anyone objects to the marriage. Jungkook opened his jacket to the side and showed off his nerf gun, pointing his finger to all the guests with those threatening looks. The guests laughed and did not object. Vows are now exchanged. Jungkook and Chaeyoung decided to make their own vows.
The ring bearer came forward and presented the rings. Chaeyoung placed Jungkook's ring on first, then he placed on hers.
The priest smiled, "I pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Jungkook took a step closer to her. He cupped her face in his hands. He pulled her face to his, closing lips over hers. Everyone cheered for them, however Chaeyoung barely noticed; her full attention rested on Jungkook.
"Do you know what's funny?" Chaeyoung told him. Jungkook hummed in response, looking at her like she was a piece of artwork. His hands went around her waist and entwined themselves around her.
Chaeyoung giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck, "My mother didn't really like my father at first. He left a bad impression. My father was picking on a boy and my mother stepped in, stopping him."
Jungkook smiled and pulled her closer to him, "Sounds like our story."
"I am not telling our kids that their father is a mafia."
Jungkook smirked, "So now you are thinking about our kids huh? How many kids do you want?"
Chaeyoung smiled, "I don't know. How many does the mafia wants?"
The world became a better place when he shared the most beautiful smile, "As long as I am with you, then it doesn't matter to me."
