Chapter 28
Brick sighed as he rubbed his eyes, tired from his all nighter. Blossom laughed and poke him in the stomach. He smiled and looked down at her, he wrapped his arms around her. Blossom smiled and they stared into each other eyes.
"So have you found you a job yet?" Brick asked.
She sighed, "Why did you have to bring that word up? We are watching Percy Jackson."
"'Cause I wanna know. Also the movies don't stick to the books."
"But you gotta admit they are funny and good."
"Yeah yeah. Anyways the job search?" He asked and she groaned.
"Yes, I found one. You know the old town museum?"
"Of course."
"Well I'm starting tomorrow as a tour guide."
Brick smiled and laid his head back on the cushions. Blossom put her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. Brick sighed and rubbed her arm, trying not to fall asleep.
"So am I gonna see you in your uniform? Or do I have to wait for a tour?" Brick asked.
Blossom laughed, "You're such a perve."
"Blossom I am a twenty-five year old man, I have some sex urges every now and then."
"Oh wow."
"So I'm taking the whole uniform idea as a yes?" He asked.
"How about a no." Blossom said.
"So a maybe." Hr said.
Blossom laughed and Brick closed his eyes. Allowing the sleep to take him over.
---
Brick opened his eyes and yawned loudly, hoping someone would notice him. He look around and noticed a piece of paper on the table. He snatched it and rub the sleep out of his eyes. Brick opened the note.
Brick,
Butch drove me home. Also he wanted you to know he's heading out to the apartments.
Blossom♡
Brick sighed and folded the note and stood up. He stretched then made his way to the bathroom. He took a quick shower, changed into his work clothes. Brick grabbed an apple and walked out to the car, getting ready for a another boring day at the station.
He pulled in the parking lot and grabbed his jacket, since his office gets cold. He walked in and said his usual hellos then to his office. He turned on his computer and logged on, mumbling something. Brick's new partner, David, walked in with his face beet red. Brick glanced up and raised his eyebrow.
"Something wrong David?" Brick asked.
"No sir. I just wanted to ask a question." David said.
"Alright."
"My nephew, Caleb, mother was killed by the Dangerous Women. I wanted to know if they are truly dead."
"Last time I checked, yeah they're dead. I mean that's how they my brothers and I alive."
"I know but my sister. She was a sick person, and my nephew claims that she wanted him to a girl. He still lives in fear from her. Caleb can't even walk near girl's section in a store without a panic attack!"
"I suggest therapy."
"Yes sir, but is it wrong for me to thankful to the killers?" David asked.
Brick looked up from his computer. He looked at David and remembered a little boy. He remembered what Boomer told them, 'I hope tou never find them, because I'm tired of being a girl for her.' Caleb. David. He wanted to thank them, Blossom, for killing someone?
He may like Blossom a lot and promised to protect her, but he couldn't see people thanking them for killing. They killed Caleb's mother. Even if the mother was terrible, that doesn't mean she deserved death.
"I'm sorry sir. I shouldn't have said anything." David quickly said.
"No it's fine. That's your thought process. Who am I to tell you it's wrong?" Brick said.
"Thank you."
"Now, let's get to work. Yeah?"
---
Brick picked up lunch for Blossom and him then drove to her work. He notice her talking to a group of kids over a statue. He smiled and parked, grabbing the lunch and walked out. He walked to the group and listened to her talk about the Egyptian pharaoh.
"Any questions?" Blossom asked.
"Uh yes," Brick said as they looked at him. "Was the pharaoh really that huge and broken down or?"
Blossom rolled her eyes and the kids laughed. The teachers just shook their heads and took their kids to lunch. Blossom walk to Brick, who held up the bag of food, and they walked to the steps. They sat next to each other, Blossom leaning in Brick's arms. Brick looked at her and noticed how younger she looked under the sun.
Even with some crinkles near her eyes from smiling hard.
"So how's work so far?" Brick asked as he ate his burger.
"Fun. I love talking about history." Blossom said.
"Plus your killing the outfit. I love the skirt."
"Have I mentioned you're a perve?"
"Maybe once. But who cares?"
"Brick, do you think we could leave the town one day. Just you and I?" She asked.
Brick pressed his lips together and laid his head ontop of hers.
"If that's what you wanna do? Then I'm down." He replied.
"I don't know if I want to come back." Blossom said.
Brick closed his eyes, "Well. As long we are both happy then I'm okay with that. I can always fet another job. I mean I do have a degrees in law and music."
"Music?"
"Oh yeah. I love music. I always wanted to open up my own shop."
"Then let's do it."
Brick pulled away to look at her. He expected her to say she's joking but her eyes told him otherwise. Blossom grabbed his hand and gave him a smile. That smile made Brick feel like he could do anything. He snorted and nodded.
"I'm down. When do we start?" Brick asked.
"Whenever you're ready." She said.
"How about this summer?"
"Alright. As long I'm with you."
Brick smiled and pressed his face in her hair. Sighing with happiness. He could care less if she killed people, even if he doesn't agree with that, but he is with her. That's all that matters to him.
