Roger that.

"I'm not sure how much longer I can do this." Noah growls into the phone as he rubs his forehead with frustration.

"What is it this time?" His boss hisses back, clearly fed up.

Unable to find the words to express to his boss how this woman is, he sits there with his brows knitted forward.

"You are one of our top agents, there hasn't been a job you couldn't do. Why is this one different?"

"Veronica." Noah starts with his boss. "This woman isn't like those others. She doesn't like to be touched, talked to or looked at. My existence pisses her off."

The beautiful mocha woman on the other side of the phone sighed heavily.

"Not to mention she's back with her ex. I helped her keep her job, and she snapped at me. Anytime I do anything to close to her, she fights back." Huffing, Noah stands from his couch. "I've never had to chase a woman, they always throw themselves on me."

"You sound narcissistic." Veronica speaks calmly.

"I wouldn't doubt that I am." Noah rolls his icy blue orbs.

"But you're right, they usually do fall for you right away. Find her weak spot, she has to like something."

Hanging up the phone, Noah looks out his front window. There in her drive way is the blonde guy from earlier, along with Amara. Although he can't hear what they're saying, he can assume it's nothing terrible considering the smile on her face.

How is he suppose to compete with someone she has history with? Amara obviously isn't like the typical rich girl. Matter of fact, she doesn't seem rich at all. She rides a bike, lives in the smallest house on the block and works at a small coffee shop. If her father is some rich billionaire, why is he having his daughter live in such a shit hole?

He watched with a raised brow when the blonde grips Amara's face tightly before planting a kiss on her lips. Before he leaves, her boyfriend peers behind the short brunette. His eyes meet Noah's, in a gross attempt to piss off the taller, more muscular man. Her boyfriend aggressively grabs her rear, pulling her close and kisses her roughly, his eyes never leaving Noah's.

Noah scoffs in disgust. He finds it funny that guy thinks he cares about the hot headed woman. The second he finishes his mission, he'll drop her like he does every woman.

The sound of his fake persona's phone ringing makes him leave the window.

"Hello?" He answers once he picks up his other phone off the coffee table.

"Abel?"

"Who is this?" Noah raises a brow at the familiar voice through the phone.

"It's Donny. Listen, I'm at work right now and you seem like the kind of guy who works out alot." Amara's brown eyes friend speaks quickly.

"Listen, Donny. I know you think we got close at the bar the other night but, I'm not into me-."

"No." Donny speaks with panic. "No, that's definitely not it." Taking a moment to contiune, he huffs. "Listen, Amara didn't take her job back. Which means she has alot of free time now."

Waiting for Donny's point, Noah stares at the wall. His patience is running thin.

"Her boyfriend Erick is over with her right now and I don't trust him."

Confused, Noah runs his beard. "Why are you coming to me with this?"

"I was wondering if you could keep on eye on them while I'm at work?.."

Chucking sarcastically, Noah replies. "I'm not a babysitter."

"Please Abel? It's important."

This could be a good opportunity to search for that flash drive. Then, he wouldn't have to get close to Amara.

"Sure." Noah grunts before throwing on his jacket.

"Thank you so much."

Without a further response, Noah hangs up the phone and throws his door open. Locking it behind him, he slams it shut and heads over to Amara's.

Once he reaches her door, he knocks three times and waits for a response.

"It's you again?" Erick's voice booms from the from front. "Dude, who the hell are you?"

Narrowing his blue eyes, Noah stands tall. "I'm a friend of Donny's."

Crossing his arms over his chest, Erick presses his tongue against his cheek. "Uh huh, let me guess he sent you to make sure Amara is okay? Well you can fuck off because she's perfectly fine."

Noah wants to laugh at this guy's ignorance. "I'm just doing what he asked, he already invited me. So." He lowers his voice to a chilling tone. "Either get the fuck out of my way or, I can make you."

Without waiting for the blonde to reply, Noah shoves past him without a glance back. Walking further in the house, he spots Amara cleaning up thick shards of glass.

"What happened here?" He squats down beside her.

"What are you doing here?" She scoffs as she continues picking up sharp shards. Giving him a harsh look, she stands from her spot.

"Donny said you'd be here and asked if I could keep you company." Noah stands and watches Amara kneel back down to finish picking up the glass. "Be careful, you might cut yourself." He points out.

"Thanks for the help." She rolls her eyes.

"Babe?" Erick's loud voice travels to the kitchen. Standing in the entry way, his eyes go from Noah to Amara. "I've gotta head out. Work starts soon."

Giving his a fake smile, Amara throws the broken plate away. "Okay, I'll see you tonight then."

Taking a few seconds to look at the two of them, Erick waits to leave.

"We'll be fine." Noah smirks at the fuming, jealous blonde.

Ignoring his comments, Erick walks up to Amara. When he goes to cup her face, she back away for a second. Without looking him in the eye, Amara allows him to hold her face and kiss her.

"I'll meet you at the bar tonight." The blonde smiles at the short brunette before making his exit.

Once he leaves, Noah walks closer to Amara. "Why does Donny dislike your boyfriend."

"That's none of your business." She snaps, leaving the kitchen.

"What happened to the plate?" He questions as he follows her into the living room.

"None of your business." Amara snaps again, all this guy does is piss her off. Why is he always in her business and always around?

"He seems like a prick." Noah shrugs his shoulders when Amara turns around to face him.

"Coming from my personal stalker."

"God." He shakes his head as he stares at the wall. "What makes you so special that I would stalk you?" His blue eyes glow with frustration.

"Then why are you constantly following me?" She fires back, completely unoffended by his harsh words. "Why are you everywhere I am?"

"It's a small town."

"Not that small." She whispers.
