PROLOGUE
Judith squirmed in her bed, sweat beads dripping down her ivory skin as she cried out. She felt someone's hands grip both of my arms holding her down. It hurt. Her skin burned and it felt like she had liquid fire inside of her veins. She wailed in pain, kicking her legs around as if trying to run.
The same dream circled through her mind— the wolf. The big black wolf. It circled around the four year old Judith— big red eyes narrowing as it thought of the best way to eat her alive. She cried, her four year old hands shaking as she held what was remaining of her grandfather.
His left arm.
Hiccup. "Please.." Judith begged, her eyes blurred from the tears filling her vision. "Please don't hurt me..." But before Judith could even think of escaping the wolf lunged at her, its jaw wide open with crystalin white shark like teeth— and then she bolted up from her slumber. Judith reluctantly threw the covers off of her legs to reveal the many scars adorning her slender legs. She bit the inside of her mouth, tears returning threatening to surface from her eyes yet again.
There was no point in showing emotion in such trivial matters, if her mother saw Judith now she would've grounded her from ever walking out of the house— maybe even from missions. Not that she was ever invited to the good ones anyways.
Her mothers motto was, "Emotions are trivial. They will hurt us and prevent us from getting what is rightfully ours."
Revenge.
Judith stretched, walking up to her closet, pulling the doors open. She scanned for a few minutes— maybe even 20, before finally settling on her black ripped jeans, a black sleeveless top, a red flannel as an overshirt, and her red converse. Plain and simple. She smiled out her outfit— even if she couldn't have friends, at least Judith could look good while being a loser.
Nancy— Judith's older sister— Harvey's twin— knocked on Judith's bedroom door. "Hey, we're leaving in ten minutes!" She hollered behind the door.
Judith didn't answer back, brushing through her hair in a hurry, she twisted and tangled her hair together into a braid that rested on her shoulder before grabbing her book bag and slinging it over her shoulder. Opening her door she spots her brother making his way down the stairs.
She tapped her brother's shoulder in excitement— signing; "Are you excited?"
She walked behind him eagerly waiting for his answer. "Excited?" He scowled as if it was a dumb question. "For yet another boring school year? Yayyy" He made fake pom pom hands before rolling his eyes. Judith simply laughed at him shaking his head.
"No, idiot. I mean, are you excited for yet another mission!" She waved her fingers and palms putting emphasis into her sign language. Judith Leanna Mitchell was a mute. A traumatic response really— she hadn't said a single word since that night.
Harvey pulled his black hoodie over his arms and head before adjusting it over his pants.
"I'm not excited for this whatsoever. This is supposed to be the devils den and we willy nilly just walked into it? I don't believe it whatsoever, Jude. We're not being told the whole story." Judith bit down on her cheek, he was right. It didn't make much sense on why the Argents randomly called their parents, they didn't give them much to go off of besides a "suspicion". It was weird that they even moved just because of a theory.
But who knows? Maybe they did just move all of their kids into this god forsaken town knowing not even a false god could help the devil's advocates.
