27||Wrong||

.People who don't take risks generally make about two big mistakes a year. People who do take risks generally make about two big mistakes a year.

I looked within the window as I slid on my bracelet on both my wrist. My hair was however still dripping wet from the shower I just took. I seized the white towel that was placed on the holder of my door and began stroking my hair, in the process of drying it. I placed the towel down and went for a wide-tooth comb and began brushing my hair, mostly the knots.

You could say Mondays were not really the best day to set in a positive vibe. Like who would be happy on Monday? It only means new projects to work on and more topics to learn. Reasonably, if a wizard was to turn teaching into being fun, I don't think I'd be a lazy bun.

Done brushing my hair, I closed the zip to my bag and swung it over my left shoulder and putting my right hand into the left one to completely leave it hanging on my shoulders. I tucked my phone into my bag's small pocket but not before reviewing the weather.

I moved across the room to my standing mirror to take a once over at my face. I was insignificantly paled but that wasn't what got my attention. It was my lips. It has a slight bruise on it from when I sucked on it last night after baking a lot of loaves of bread. Successfully, we were able to bake at least 90 loaves of bread in 9 hours. A huge success. And still, make it to the orphanage to give the children their dream cookies.

I ran my hands through my hair unsure of the way I looked. I always wanted to look decent and presentable on Mondays but today didn't look like I had it. I finally gave up on trying to look decent and let this Monday slide by.

I jogged downstairs lazily, trying to catch up without falling. I wasn't in the mood today for breakfast. I decided I'll just get breakfast on the way.

"Liam is waiting outside. You've kept him waiting for a long time."

I widened my eyes thinking of the worst that could happen if I ever arrived late on an early Monday. I quickly gave my mom a kiss and running, well, skipping outside to meet up with my brother.

I was sure a fly was tempted to just fly into my mouth because it hung open. I was short of words when I saw Liam with the best outfits ever. A designer chain hung loosely on his neck. Expensive diamond rings were all rounded on each thumb of his finger like those bad boys in every movie I watched. He looked handsome even though his hair was a lot rumpled and messed up.

"Good morning to you too." His honey eyes were shining under the sun's rays not leaving his perfectly toned body sparkling under it. It must have taken up to 3/4 years to get this perfect sculpted body or maybe I was just being climactic.

"Are you ready?"

I nodded stepping my boots into the Range over. I was totally stunned at how he was so neat with the car, not a single scratch to be seen. I drew out my hands, going for the seatbelt to buckle me. Safety's first. The engine roared back to life and before you knew it, we were already on the road with the cool breeze from the A/C blowing at my face and neck.

"You're a lot quiet today, sis. Something's bothering you?" Liam asked staring at me longer than expected. I shook my head, no reason at all for my unusual quietness. I didn't just feel like talking today cause well...I was on my period and it really hurts so badly. I was going to embarrass myself if I told Liam, besides.

"Sure?" He asked.

"Sure," I replied.

The breeze caressed my skin as we stepped down on the rough school's ground. Stares and murmurs were coming from every bit of the place from people as their eyes gazed over to Liam. I tightened my hold on the strap of my bag, a thought I just remembered flew in my head.

"Wait, how did you know my school?" I questioned. Liam chuckled leaning down a kiss my cheek. "I know you more than you know yourself and for your question, mom told me."

I nodded my head slowly, not sure of what I was going to say or do next. My mouth was watering and my tummy grumbled in hunger. I'd forgotten to grab Breakfast on the way!

"Liam?" I asked, shyly. The stares of the student burning through me even if the stare wasn't directed to me. He hummed, staring back at me.

"I'm hungry." I pouted. "I forgot to eat breakfast," I admitted.

"There's food packed up in your bag. You can eat it before your class start." He smiled. I gave him a small smile, my abdomen hurting in the process.

Currently, then, the gush of wind was directed to me as I flinch in fright. In front of me stood a familiar black car that got me shaking visibly. I knew that car even in my nightmares and dreams. It was a lot cleaner today. I sucked in on my pasty lips immediately looking away back to Liam who also seemed dazzled about the black car.

"Bye, Liam." I waved and quickly gave him a hug and a peck on the cheek, standing up on my tippy-toe. Gosh, I was so short.

"Have a nice day, sis." I watched as his red range over drove away leaving me on the grounds. I slowly but ever turned to walk back to the school's building.

"Got yourself a new fucking boyfriend now, kitten?"

I stood on my track, frozen up to the chest. My heart was hammering inside my rib cage/chest at just the tone of his voice.

Cold.

Always had been cold when he talked to me, which was rare.

I wanted to believe he wasn't talking to me but a hand on my shoulder confirmed my expectations. I flinched subconsciously at the warm touch that was on my shoulder, a touch I guessed didn't even belong to Adrian.

"Hey, Ari. How are you?" Lin calling me by my nickname that was yet popular and used. I hummed, straightening my posture trying all my possible and worked best not to look at Adrian in the eye.

"I'm good. Thanks for asking, how about you?"

The white cloud that set above was invisibly turned grey indicating either a storm or it was gonna rain. Either way, I was ready for any.

"Good as ever. Not just in the mood to come to school."

As he talked, I couldn't help but peek my way to Adrian which I suddenly regretted. His eyes wore a dark look in them. Something I haven't seen before. His face looking marvellous as ever and his lips...

Something in me clicked, something I've never felt before. Something good and bad at the same time. I couldn't just make anything out of it. The sound of the bell cut me out of my weird feeling as I adjusted my bracelet on my wrist.

"I gotta go," I mumbled, shyly.

"Of course, back to the hellhole," Lin muttered with an eye roll. I licked my lips that needed moisture so bad, a dark look still cemented on Adrian's face as we walked into the school's building.

"We have English together, today, don't we?" Lin asked scratching the back of his neck. My concentration was just fixed on his nose that I still didn't know-how of, that had a scratch.

"Yes, we do." I giggle at his way of forgetting easily. "What class do you have, Adrian?" I asked, smiling brightly at him. My plan of avoiding him at all costs failed once again in a second attempt. Deep down inside of me, I was a scared mess. His eyes still trained on me, he licked his bottom lips rolling his hand through his curls.

"Chemistry." He lowly said. I nodded spitefully and turned back to Lin.

"Let's go," Lin told.

I pushed open the door that led to the classroom. The gush of wind welcomed us cordially as we both walked to our various seats. I tapped my hands on the table, the pain in my abdomen unbearable.

"Sorry for my tardiness." The English teacher said as she placed her coffee on her table. She was the same person who gave is that project that day. Today, we were meant to give her back our project only that Jules and Adrian weren't in my class today.

"Carefully submit your homework on my next from rows to rows." She explained carefully. I looked over to Lin who approved and we went ahead to place ours on her table.

"Good, Thank you, you sure you did yours?" Animadversions kept flying past her mouth as the ranks went ahead to show theirs.

"You okay?" A girl next to me said. She wore brown thick glasses that seemed to cover her freckles that flattened below her nose. Her black smooth hair complimented her lips well enough and her hands were soft when she touched my hand.

"I'm good," I said below a whisper. She furrowed her eyebrow at me. "No, I'm asking because you're stained." She told. I opened my mouth in shock.

my

gosh.

Did anyone see it?

"What!" I stood up to check but she beckoned me to stop. "Here, you can take my jacket to cover it." She said pushing the blue jacket from her body. "I don't mind a few blood stains on it anyway." Her smile braved me a little as I took the jacket from her and bound it around my waist.

"Thank you."

My eyes were almost brimmed with tears from this small gracious offer. I still didn't even know her name and we've never talked before, only just now, and her attitude explained her very well. She smiled and patted me on my shoulder before looking ahead and continued listening to the explanations.

'~'

"Anytime. My name is Luna." Her warm hands snaked around mine, a handshake I gave. I smiled at her.

"I'm Ariana. But Ari for short." I explained. She hummed as we bot started walking back to our lockers. Only that hers were 3cms away from mine.

"I like you. In a cool way." I blushed.

"Thank you. Me too."

We continued our way through the busy crowd that filled the hallway scampering to their classes or going through their files and phone. I put in the key number to my locker and drew out one of my files, tucking it in my arm and closing the locker.

"It was nice meeting you. I'm heading to the library." I announced. Luna smiled. Small crips of chocolate chips resting on her lips and chin.

"Same here. I'll see around."

I turned to my heel heading for the library, the small bell tickling when the door opened. There was something I'd missed a lot from coming to the library and that was the smell of cookies and milk. If it was anything I'd missed, it was the smell of the delicious combination of it. It was only given to those who obeyed the library rules.

I sat down on one of the wooden stools that were decorated with the school's name on it. I found it stylish though. I brought up the file to the table and opened it, scanning the first page that had my name, bio and class.

The second thing I liked about the library was literally the free Wi-Fi installed. It was like the school never ran out of it. A lot of people often come here just to browse on their phone and laptop and never even got caught even though it wasn't for school's reason.

My hands swiftly moved to my phone to check when the ping of notification caught my attention.

Lin: Come to the back of the school, now!

*We love a guy that can type correctly without being obsessed with abbreviations*

My breath slowly hitched just by his dangerous and scary message. It was like he was in trouble. My hands slowly tapped the screen, words forming in my mind.

Ari: Why? What's wrong?

His next reply sent my lips opening for a gasp

Lin: Adrian's in trouble and I can't control him.

Ari: On my way:0

I hurriedly tucked my opened file into my bag and my phone into my pocket. My hands were vaguely thrilling as I moved my legs on the white titles, moving as fast as possible with thoughts attacking my mind.

Adrian's in trouble.

How could a boy like him be in trouble? Why? And what trouble?

I swung my hair to my back going to the school's back building, little groans and muttering were slowly heard as I approached nearer. The sky was dark, darker than before and like my thoughts were true, I flinched, the storm startling me.

But that wasn't the only reason. It was the cold eyes that stared right back at me once ours met. I dug painfully into my palms, watching him like I was his prey and he was my preditor. Lin was trying to console him, muttering things into his ears but I figured that didn't help when he threw Lin a painful slap across the cheek.

I whimpered.

"What the fuck is wrong with you man!?!?" Lin asked holding on to his cheek. I bit my lips, trembling on the spot already.

Adrian didn't answer. His eyes were only trained on me like we were doing an eye contest or something. I couldn't imagine myself being in Lin's position now.

Lin scoffed, coming towards me. "Take care." He muttered and stumbled to leave the building. I didn't know what to do or what Lin expected me to do. I walked slowly up to Adrian, my hands sweaty and shaking. My courage was the only thing pressing me forward. I didn't even know why I was doing this and why Lin called me. Why not someone else? I doubt I was even going to calm him, but instead, make him angrier.

Whatever made me angry, I hope he doesn't spread that anger on me.

"H-hi." My feet vibrated as I made the first step to come up to him. His eyes were dark matching the grey and dark cloud perfectly. Even if he was angry, he still managed to look...handsome.

"What do you fuck do you want!!" He snapped angrily, staring at me like a predator he was. I flinched at his hoarse voice, my courage melting. There was no way I was going to calm him when he was like this.

"C-can we t-talk?"

I breathed out a shaky breath that I had wanted to breathe. I was just an inch in front of him and I was surprised he hadn't done anything out of anger. Moving my hands slowly, I grabbed his hands carefully.

My hands were trembling as I did so, his jaw clenched tightly and his eyes planted on mine. As I stared into his eyes, I couldn't help but feel a little bit calm. It was very weird that I  was very calm even in this situation. But his eyes held a lot of emotions. Hurt, anger, weak and sad.

"P-please." I shuttered. My voice came out a little croaky and squeaky. His facial expression softened a bit, his eyes drawn to my lips and his eyes suddenly turned dark. I chewed on my bottom lips, drawing out some blood.

"Will you stop fucking doing that!!, si?" I bent my eyebrow at the use of a familiar foreign language.

Spanish.

My father's native tongue.

Was he Spanish?

"Are you s-Spanish?" I questioned and squeezed his palm to confront him. He sighed and bent to seat on the cemented ground. I didn't mind a few dust and dirt on my clothes anyway.

"Yes, I am." He answered softly. And for a thousand years, Adrian and I were having calm conversations. I was shocked he didn't protest to get my hands away from him or his col voice didn't surface today. He was warm towards me and I liked it. When he talked gently to me.

"W-why are you angry?" I asked, daring not to ask the wrong question. He looked up from the ground and turned to me. The sound of the storm raining in the background, making me shake. His eyes were soft and warm like honey.

"None of your fucking business." My chest stung a bit at his cold tone but I choose to ignore it. I wasn't in the position the choose which tone he talks to me.

Subconsciously, I didn't even know when I started playing with his thumb. Twirling the rings around it. His cold and rough palms in my soft ones. He just sat down there, watching me.

The sound of rain playing in the background as we sat in silence listening to the raindrops and storm. Gratefully, I had 2 hours of free period, not like I was ditching school or anything.

"I hate you, you know?" His voice said. I swallowed hard, still playing with his finger rings and thumb. I hummed and nodded.

"But it doesn't look like you do too." He said without cursing which sounded a lot better and warmer than when he does. "I don't hate you. I don't hate anyone. If you hate me, then you do." I replied with a chuckle. "But why do you hate me? I asked.

He groaned and redrew his hands from mine. I resisted to urge to pout but I kept quiet, watching his reaction.

"Don't ask me that!" He ordered. "I have a lot of fucking reasons to hate you and one of them is your innocence." He stated.

My innocence? I didn't understand what he meant.

"W-what do you mean?" I asked

"Fuck!, what don't you get!" I shuddered. "You're fucking naive!" .Things are getting heated here, aren't they?! I love this chapter a lot. This is the longest chapter ever, but the next may be the longest. But warn you, the chapters are longer as it goes! Finally, they are having a conversation and what do you think?
