Slowly Shining Through

Third POV

Chuma sighed as he looked up from the book, "Celestial Blackholes, I think when I was with Kur when we ventured into the celestial terrain we encountered one of them. Though Kur was able to quickly shoo them off with his chains by wrapping a chain around one of their legs and flicking them off the bay of the ship. But their creation is somewhat odd," Chuma commented as he looked back down, "in the comment of Burakku when we were traveling to save Kur he is correct Kur was never a black hole like we originally theorized after I checked out my first book from the Celestial catacombs."

"Is Kur a black hole or?" Velacera started to ask before Chuma shook his head.

"That's the confusing part as a typical black hole according to the books I have checked out," Chuma said as he picked up the book and turned it around to face the others, "celestial black holes are fallen stars that had survived or denying the nebula cloud phase after their cores had been either shattered or is in the process of cracking which in case they cannot use the magic of any sorts and only can create voids like vacuums but nothing else."

"So what is Kur exactly, Chuma," Velacera asked as concern hinted in his voice.

"That's the issue Kur can use his powers from before but also learn other forms of magic though he does show the signs of the black hair the cracking of physical form and the deathly pale to almost white skin that's about it. From what Burakku said, Kur used to have dark blue to fading dark lavender hair that turned black, and his skin tone was that of caramel color now almost deathly white color. But other than that he doesn't have a hole in his chest where his core would reside or he isn't missing any body parts like some extreme cases of black holes so-"

"Could it be that something is preventing him from turning into a complete black hole?" Tsathoggua noted in giving thought to the matter, "Not to interrupt your explanation there Chuma but could it possibly be something preventing the conclusion of him becoming a black hole? Cause the form of magic I had witnessed wasn't normal by any means it felt tingling yes but nothing threatening. It almost felt like a warm embrace, a protective embrace to boot. Like he already knew who was on which side." Tsathoggua tilted his head back slightly humming, "What volume was it that I wrote about the one vision I was given about the original creator of the Celestials and our creator Azathoth? But it seemed so familiar when I witnessed it. The volume of power and the glow seemed as if I was seeing that vision once more."

"Odd and too much of a coincidence for much speculation," Yog-Sothoth hummed, "I've witnessed many things but how this playing out Tsathoggua may have a very well played outguess to what Kur could be as it would make sense with the given context. Could it be your little friend the next rotation of a Celestial creator or maybe even more?" Yog-Sothoth gave a small chuckle as he crossed his arms, "I am quite sad that I wasn't able to meet the fella myself. I might just have to either visit Makai myself or invite him here to Arkham."

Chuma looked at Velacera as he return the look. Kur being the most docile one and would be more open for questioning and learning they were still concerned about the interactions. By far Kur only interacted and seemingly enough built a bond of mutual understanding with King Enma but they were in the same realm and Kur grew attached to Makai as his home away from the Celestial realm. "There is nothing wrong with asking to see what can be done," Velacera said trying to think of his words carefully.

"Oh-ho," Yog-Sothoth hummed as he turned around, "I think a lovely invitation here would be exciting, letting the whole family meet him. Oh, the wonderful conversations to have if that was the case." Yog-Sothoth seemed quite pleased with himself as he walked away, "I must make the proper invitation for a new guest." He walked further as Chuma and Velacera along with Tsathoggua merely watched him walk away.

Several days passed as Velacera and Chuma stayed in Arkham awaiting any news from Burakku. As of that instance they had merely picked up with staying in Tsathoggua's home in Arkham. Of course, Tsathoggua invited them to stay with him in the meantime. The vast amount of books lined the room of the private library and drawing room. Velacera had kept the Celestial Necronomicon close to him and made sure the book never left his sight. Velacera had set down the book he had borrowed from the shelf on the table next to the chair he had decided to sit in. "What's wrong Velacera," the gentle tone of Tsathoggua sounded next to him as the sound of the wheel rolling across the hardwood floor came closer.

"I-," Velacera thought before sighing, "it's just unsettling to just not see Kur reading in the adjacent chair. It's something that became so habit and became routine that whenever I do so it just seems so off without him adjacent to me." Velacera sighed as he reached for the Necronomicon that was next to the other book, "this book is practically like the normal Necronomicon I am used to but this one is just out of my reach as I know I cannot open it to read it's content."

"The unknown or breaking a routine can make one feel anxious or feel out of place," Tsathoggua hummed softly as he picked up the book Velacera had set down before turning a few pages in, "well until we get some good news do you mind telling me about your friend. Sometimes it's better to be verbal about one routine to bring back the familiar feeling of actually doing that routine."

"Well," Velacera paused as he placed his hand on his chin, "it is a bit routine to what is done throughout the day. I normally get up first and start morning tea and make something light. Before Kur moved the tilting coat and hat rack I would normally bump into it knocking it down as Kur was walking down to help me up and then picking up the rack before we finally decided it was time to move it away from the tight hallway entrance to the wider area by the door."

Tsathoggua gave a light chuckle, "Kur seems like he was always walking down to quite the scuffle in the morning. But yes the wider area is better than a narrow hallway for a coat rack." Velacera gave a tired laugh as he nodded his head.

"I agreed after the fact Kur suggested moving it as he would always hint concern that I might hurt myself if I kept knocking it down and tripping over it," Velacera hummed as he set the book down, "after he normally comes down we sit in the recliners in the living room as we sit there watching as Makai's sun rises and we talk about what we might do or have planned but he took up the job of attending to the King Enma's library inside the castle as it was very disorganized and he felt the need to have something to do to feel a bit more in place and asked King Enma about it. Ever since he started I've been to the library and none of the spell books do whatever they want and the tiles on the floor are not uprooted or anything like that. Kur had gotten the wild books to be tamed and organize themselves and would only be a mess when they haven't been picked up in a while so Kur would pick them up and give them the attention they want."

"He sounds like a librarian that knows the language of the books," Tsathoggua gave a light chuckle, "do the other hellspawns get along with Kur as well?"

"Yes," Velacera gave a light laugh, "though mostly cause Kur can duel with them and they tend to have Kur practice with them to build their skills and such since learning Kur was immune to the sanity loss factor we have when we fight." Tsathoggua nodded his head as Velacera sighed, "On occasions, I would go with him to the library and help out I should've gone with him that day. Watch him learn advanced teleportation magic that day and helped out in the library so that way we went together to Conjinham–" Velacera trailed off.

"It wasn't your fault," Tsathoggua said watching the poor candle hellspawn trail off into his thoughts, "he was looking out for all of you. He knew the risks but still did so cause he wanted to protect everyone in Makai and Conjinham. In recent letters between us and Uncle Ethmnaluthayl and he gave us more insight into what he was given for information. True, the connection bond that you had with Kur would've in doubt protected you but you didn't know or anyone else."

"I know but it just feels like something could've been different," Velacera sighed heavily, "I know Kur was already dealing with a lot since I first found him so badly injured and practically dead by normal standards." Tsathoggua nodded his head listening to Velacera explain his concern.

"I see," Tsathoggua said with a soft tone, "you have seen Kur injured to a point where one would believe that one was dead by mortal means. So seeing Kur so desperate and in disarray that it seemed it snapped back to the memory of seeing him on the verge of death."

"Y–Yeah, that," Velacera sighed as he scratched the nap of his neck, "it feels so alienated that I am unable to help him unlike I did for the first time or the many times he did so for me. My nightmares have run rampant since Kur had gone back to the Celestial realm. I don't have a clue as to why—"

The soft glow of a sphinx mare snapped Velacera out of his train of thought as he got up from the chair to catch the sphinx mare onto his hand as it landed softly, "Burakku do you have good news," Velacera asked softly as his voice cracked a little. There was no answer before the sphinx mare glowed and became an apparition of Kur laying in his hands, "Kur can you—"

"I know you might be expecting Burakku but this is just merely a recording of a message his will soon follow. So if you try to ask anything I am sorry I cannot answer them as I had everything prerecorded," Kur sighed as Kur shifted his laying position, "I am sorry for the scare that I caused. Burakku and Father-sama had told me what happened and filled in some missing memory. I never wanted to frighten you like that. It felt so out of control as if I was not in control of my own body. It wasn't even my body or my consciousness at that moment. Again, I am so sorry for frightening you and Chuma that way. At the end of this message, the sphinx mare will turn to a simple charm but it'll give you access to the Necronomicon that Burakku trusted in your hands until he or I can return. My powers are slowly settling but my physical form is getting a little warily as they settle. How to read the Necronomicon is to ask it or think of what you want to be answered and when it shows a magic signa touch it and it'll display the answer in great detail it also might tell it you if the language barrier gets too much as the charm lets you see second generation Celtic. My body grows tired I must say farewell for right now and again I am very sorry for the outcome that has happened thus far."

True to Kur's words the sphinx mare turned into a butterfly charm, "that was short simple, and sweet like," Tsathoggua commented as Velacera just looked down at the charm, "he gave you access to the Necronomicon and even told you how to use it. Do you have any immediate questions you wish to ask?"

"I do but," Velacera said as he turned towards Tsathoggua as he held up the charm, "how can I safely place this charm on me without losing it." Tsathoggua hummed before pointing to the little pendant by his neck.

"It seems like there's enough room by your pendant on your jabot," Tsathoggua said with a light tone, "It should be fine there for now."

"You're right just give me a second then," Velacera sighed as he loosened the jabot and slid the other charm off before sliding the sphinx charm on and tightening the jabot once more, "there now that is situated. I don't know what to ask, I know Kur said all I have to do is ask a question or think of a problem that the Necronomicon could answer for me but what can I ask?"

"How about that spell Kur used to practically kill that mockery hellspawn, Cozbi, and that corrupted demon, Blood Star," Chuma suggested as he walked into the room, "Burakku's message came directly to Yog-Sothoth so you missed the update but Burakku had informed us that Kur had also sent out a pre-recorded message for you, Velacera. The Zmoras are all diminished and from what was reported all Zmoras will be gone by sundown tomorrow at the rate his subordinates are at their working pace. Burakku also informed about Kur's giving permission to the Necronomicon to read it saying the message gave you the key to it without the necessary conditions of being of Celestial blood or creation", Chuma shrugged his shoulders.

"The spell," Tsathoggua asked as he tilted his head, "it was strange indeed. I only saw the last half of it but it seemed like the spell was tearing apart one's creation in form of destructive power. Immense power indeed but it doesn't follow natural formation as in most common destructive spells," Tsathoggua hummed thinking as Velacera picked up the book. Watching in awe as the astonishing view of the chains clicked before the lock snapped open and the chains slivered away back into the back of the book back cover.

"I-it worked," Velacera took a deep breath, "it opened the chains for me. So the destructive spell that Kur used. What is the spell that destroys the creative atoms of all?" Velacera's eyes widened behind his glasses as he spoke without realizing he spoke in a different language the book snapped open turning its pages frantically and wildly, before settling down and displaying the same symbol and magic circle formula they saw when Kur had used to kill Cozbi and Blood Star.
