It wouldn't be our favorite fire families without some relationships of a kind. I got three guilty pleasures that I know I'm doing and will be the main relationships I focus on, and I have a few ideas on what to do with my other favorite 9-1-1 people. So, might as well get to the chase.

ESTABLISHED: Carlos Reyes/TK Strand

Tarlos

Oh, whose Lone Star hearts didn't melt or immediately go "SHIP" when "Yee-Haw" opened up with these two in full makeout mode? I loved these two, and especially how their relationship developed in Season 1. TK was a recovering opioid addict, and Carlos did not push him into anything at all. Just watching them casually hang out and move towards being together by the finale was something I enjoyed.

Do I wish we could see more of them? Yes, yes I do. But in Season 2, I was very, very happy with the episodes that focused on these two, especially the midseason finale. These two clearly love each other, and I'm excited to throw my hat into the ring writing for them.

ENDGAME: Evan Buckley/Eddie Diaz

Buddie

Jesus Christ, did Season 4 of 9-1-1 put shippers through the ringer. Eddie's got a girlfriend, Buck gets a girlfriend at the end of the season, but there are so many good moments with these two that it's really difficult not to see these two being the endgame ship. I'll try not to spoil the big nuclear bomb in the room for those of you who haven't seen the last two episodes (though I hope everyone has), but . . . what was that, 9-1-1? Seriously, how do you explain that?

That's the glory of fanfiction, folks. I can look at something like what 9-1-1 threw at us, take the characters, and whip up a story that ends in a way that will (hopefully) make everyone who ships this ship happy. I swear, it's like these two skipped dating and went right to bickering like a married couple and co-parenting Christopher. I love whatever relationship they have in the show right now, but I'm looking forward to seeing if I can actually do this ship justice. God, I hope I can.

ENDGAME: Sylvie Brett/Matt Casey/Kelly Severide

Yes, you did read that right. I didn't label this "pairings" for a reason - I'm attempting to write a poly relationship with a trio that just makes so much sense to me. These three are just so shippable with each other in general - Matt and Kelly, Kelly and Sylvie, and my current Wolfverse OTP Matt and Sylvie. What's better than three pairings? Just throw all three together and watch them be a badass throuple.

Which means this is where things get a little complex. Basically everything from Chicago Fire through the Stellaride break-up in S7 happened in this universe. From there on, I'll be showing through the story how these three become 51's Three Musketeers and how they became so intertwined. I absolutely love the thought of these three together because of the scenes they've shared individually and as a group, and I think they would be incredible together.

So if the thought of a poly relationship in this book is putting you off, please don't force yourself to read. If you're willing to give it a shot, I promise to try and make this worth your while. This is why I list the relationships in advance: know what you're getting into before you dive in too deep.

Like I said, these are the three main relationships I will be devoting most of this book to, mainly because Buck, TK, and Sylvie are the main three I'm focusing on. Of course, other ships exist and there are ships I can create, so here are a few I've been thinking of.

Owen: Oh, my favorite firefam papa wolf (sorry Bobby and Boden, that includes both of you). See, Lone Star had me shipping him with Michelle in Season 1, and then in came Tommy and even though she was married, the two had so much chemistry together. I had to smack myself following 2x13 because I probably shouldn't have immediately thought "Owen and Tommy would be really good for each other," but my mind works the way it does. So, any preferences: Michelle or Tommy?

Marjan: I specifically say Marjan here because there are three options for her here. I loved how close she and Mateo were in Season 1. I loved seeing her more in-depth interactions with Paul in Season 2. And I just love these three together in general. So, who would you like to see Marjan with (if anyone): Paul, Mateo, or both as a throuple?

Maddie: This one I kind of see as being one people are stuck on. As a writer, it's very easy for me to manipulate the timeline, so if people want to see Maddie with someone else, she does not need to be pregnant at the end of Season 3. The relationship between Buck and Maddie is something I adore with all my heart, and I truly think Maddie would be willing to uproot her life in Los Angeles if it meant being with her brother, and I see her being an amazing dispatcher with Grace. On the other hand, she might stay in Los Angeles because that's where she feels happy. So, there are a few choices for her. Chimney (obviously) is for if she stays in Los Angeles, or two people I think she could be a good fit with if she goes to Austin: Paul (which would leave Marjan and Mateo above), or Nancy (because that girl deserves the world and more after what she went through in Season 2).
