Introduction & Main Cast
Fate is a funny, fickle thing that can turn a story on its heels in an instant. In the world of first responders, it happens to send two firehouses, one from Austin and one from Chicago, out to California for a conference, only to divert with Los Angeles' finest to a horrible train derailment.
Three red strings tangle in a knot and lead to a meeting between a Los Angeles daredevil, an Austin danger magnet, and a Chicago badass. That knot leads to a friendship and sibling adoption no one could have ever expected.
Certainly not Captain Owen Strand who, when in the process of establishing a new company at the Austin 126, learns his son TK has two perfect candidates in mind to join them: Los Angeles 118 Firefighter Evan Buckley and Chicago 51 Paramedic Sylvie Brett.

Main Cast
Rob Lowe as Captain Owen Strand
"I know how to build teams, and I know how to do my best to make them a family, but my first priority is always my own family, and that included the two of you the moment TK never shut up about you."
"Headin' into twilight, spreadin' out her wings tonight."
Ronen Rubinstein as Firefighter TK Strand
"I'm an opioid addict who had an overdose at the start of the year, and I got shot by a kid on the job. I'm pretty sure that makes me a disaster, too."
"Revvin' up your engine, listen to her howlin' roar."
Oliver Stark as Firefighter Evan Buckley
"I told Maddie once that between her and danger is exactly where I want to stand. That's exactly where I want to stand here."
"You'll never know what you can do until you get it up as high as you can go."
Kara Killmer as Paramedic In-Charge Sylvie Brett
"When TK said you accepted everyone no matter what community they belong to, I had a gut feeling about you, Owen. I'm glad I was right."
"She got you jumpin' off the deck, shovin' into overdrive."
Jesse Spencer as Captain Matt Casey
"Someone who means the world to me and Kelly once said Chicago shows up for each other. That doesn't change even though you aren't in Chicago now."
"Out along the edges, always where I burn to be."
Taylor Kinney as Lieutenant Kelly Severide
"After everything that happened the last two years, with the serial arsonist, my work at OFI, you losing your birth mother, Halleck . . . what happened with the three of us? Did we do something wrong?"
"The further on the edge, the hotter the intensity."
Ryan Guzman as Firefighter Eddie Diaz
"The 118 is the family I chose, and just because someone isn't part of that firehouse anymore doesn't mean he stops being the second most important person in my life."
"You'll never say hello to you until you get it on the red line overload."
Rafael Silva as Officer Carlos Reyes
"Oh, I see how it is. Date one firefighter, get five free. Or is it four and a paramedic?"
"Metal under tension, beggin' you to touch and go."
Jennifer Love Hewitt as Maddie Buckley
"No matter where we were or what we went through, we always had each other. That is never going to change."
Joe Minoso as Firefighter Joe Cruz
"I know how it feels when a crew clicks. That's Squad 3 for me. If you haven't found that yet . . . well, don't let me stop you from finding it, even if I lose my Roomdog."
Jim Parrack as Firefighter Judd Ryder
"Cap worked his city ass off to make this house a family. Hell, I had a hard time making this a new one. If you want a family, you came to the right place."
with Liv Tyler as Captain Michelle Blake
"If there's one thing the new 126 has taught me, it's not your age that matters, it's what you bring in experience. I'm looking forward to seeing what he snatched this time."
and Angela Bassett as Sergeant Athena Grant-Nash
"Once you impress me, you've got me in your corner. There's always a place in my house for you and your family, Buckaroo."

You know, just when you think you have your fandoms under control, you get wrapped into 9-1-1: Lone Star, then the crossover happens and that sucks you into 9-1-1, and . . . well, you also think Sylvie and Eddie would make a badass paramedic team, Buck and TK are a firefighting disaster team, and Owen is either delighted to have more kids or having a constant migraine from having to rein them in.
But no matter what, Sylvie would have the braincell . . . until it's her, TK, and Buck, then it's poor Carlos. XD
As you can tell from the introduction, this book will start at 9-1-1 3x18, which (and I'm being wibbly wobbly with the timeline) is after Lone Star S1 and near the end of Chicago Fire S8. Not quite sure where yet, but I'll figure it out by the time the prologue is up. Basically everything from 9-1-1 and Lone Star up to this point is the exact same, and it's Chicago Fire where you'll see the differences, especially when you see me post the relationships chapter.
So yes, my favorite firefam shows are combining. Yes, I'm crazy. Am I still gonna do it anyway? Yes, I am.
P.S., big thanks to Miss Gatiss (shavingforsherl0ck) and Miss Prince (queenofjo) for letting me spill basically 80% of the plot of this in our group chat. Love you both! <3
