"Captain Man!" Jasper yells from his spot at Henry's kitchen counter.

"What about Captain Man?" Henry asks, turning to look at his best friend and Maisie looks up from her algebra homework.

"Did you guys see what he did yesterday?" Jasper asks, looking over at his three friends.

"Can we focus on algebra?" Charlotte asks and Maisie looks over at her.

"You know they can't." She says, closing her textbook.

"There was a fire at a pet store and Captain Man ran inside, right through the flames, and saved all the animals and he didn't even get hurt." Jasper says, amazed at what Captain Man did. Maisie rolls her eyes and attempts to tune the conversation out. Ray had already given her a rundown of what happened last night in extreme detail.

"Captain Man never gets hurt. He's a beast." Henry says. Maisie internally rolls her eyes. If Ray could hear this conversation he'd never let it go that Maisie's best friends thought he was amazing.

"You know, some day, when you guys are cleaning my swimming pool because you failed this algebra test, then flunked out of school, I hope you remember this moment, 'cause I will." Charlotte says to the boys and Maisie nods.

"And I'll laugh." She says setting down her math homework.

"Hey, here's a cool job I could do." Henry says from his spot next to Maisie and sets his foot on top of the coffee table. "Foot model!"

"You guys, can we go over the list for my birthday party?" Jasper asks.

"Sure!" Henry says.

"No!" Charlotte says.

"Definitely not." Maisie says.

"No!" Henry says changing his answer after hearing the girl's opinions.

"But I invited 52 people. And nobody's texted me back yet. What does that mean?" Jasper asks.

"That people have been to your parties before?" Henry says, turning in his spot to look at the boy.

"Oh, come on, my parties aren't that bad." Jasper defends.

"Christmas. Three years ago. Fifteen kids ended up in the hospital!" Charlotte says.

"And I was one of them!" Maisie says yelling at the boy.

" 'Cause of your raw turkey." Henry say.

"It was turkey sushi." Jasper corrects.

"A boy almost died, Jasper!" Maisie says, turning to fulling face the boy from her spot on the couch.

"Almost!" Jasper says pointing a finger at Maisie.

"Okay, first person who helps me find an after school job gets this bowl of pinecones." Henry says holding up the bowl that was sitting on his coffee table. Jasper gasps dramatically and Maisie rolls her eyes.

"Remind me why I let you talk me into becoming friends with them again?" Maisie asks Charlotte , gesturing to the two boys.

"Hey!" Jasper says and Henry laughs at Maisie's comment, knowing it's only a joke.

"Why do you even need a job?" Charlotte asks, ignoring her best friend.

"You know, to learn responsibility and challenge myself." Henry explains and Maisie gives the boy a skeptical look before turning to Charolette.

"He wants money." Jasper and Maisie say at the same time. She turns to give the boy a side-eyed glare, suddenly annoyed that Jasper knew their best friend as well as she did. Granted Jasper had known Henry two years longer than she had, she still felt like Henry and her had a closer relationship.

"I want money!" Henry says, echoing what Maisie and Jasper said.

"Money's good." Charlotte says nodding, walking over to Jasper.

"Can we please talk about my birthday?" Jasper pleads.

"Am I gonna have to slap a boy?" Charlotte asks, sighing.

"Please do!" Maisie cheers.

"Henry, can you please tell me, how in the world- oh, I didn't know Jasper, Maisie and Charlotte were here." Henry's mom says as she walks into the living room.

"We're studying." Jasper explains.

"Are we?" Charlotte asks and Maisie shakes her head.

"Nope." She says, popping the "p".

"Mom, we're right in the middle of some-" Henry says but his mom cuts him off.

"I'm not interrupting. I just have a question  about your underwear." She says holding up a pair of Henry's underwear.

"Mom!" Henry yells.

"I'd like to hear the question." Charolette says.

"What is the issue with Henry's underwear?" Jasper asks Henry's mom.

"Yeah, whatever could be the problem?" Maisie asks, propping her hand up on her fist.

"Mom! Mom, I'm not okay!" Piper says as she runs into the house, slamming the door behind her.

"Piper, we're trying to study here." Henry says gesturing to him and his group of friends.

"I'm talking to my mother." Piper sasses.

"Hey pip!" Maisie says.

"Hey May!" Piper says, waving at the older girl.

"What's wrong, baby?" Henry's mom asks Piper.

"Jessica unfollowed me!" Piper whines.

"No one cares!" Henry says, as he stands up and walks over to the kitchen table with his laptop.

"Henry." His mom says in a warning tone. "Why would Jessica unfollow you?"

" 'Cause she posted a pic of her, me and Allison. So I posted a comment that said, "Omg you look so gorgeous."

" Well, that's nice." Mrs. Hart says.

"No! 'Cause Allison thought I meant she looked gorgeous, so she posted a comment that said, "Thanks, ily" And so then, Jessica got jealous and unfollowed me and now I hate myself and I'm gonna die!" Piper yells.

"I'll call Jessica's mom and talk to her." Mrs. Hart says and picks up the laundry basket again.

"No! That's not okay!" Piper says running after her mom.

"Dang it." Henry says as his three friends walk over to him. "All these jobs say I've gotta have skills."

"So, you've got tons of skills." Jasper says.

"Name one." Henry says.

"You're a great dancer."

"No, I'm not." Henry says.

"You could take lessons." Jasper says.

"Oh, my gosh." Henry say looking of into the distance as he stands up.

"What?" Charolette asks.

"I'm not great at anything." Henry says. "This is tragic."

"My uncle is hiring at his store." Maisie suggests, ignoring Henry's realization.

"Here, let me see." Charlotte says taking Henry's laptop. "What's your uncle's store called?"

"Junk-N-Stuff." Maisie says and Charlotte nods typing on Henry's laptop.

"I'm just a big pile of average." Henry says, tuning out the girls conversation.

"I thought you said your uncle was insane?" Jasper asks Maisie.

"Yeah but he pays well so it cancels out." Maisie explains and Jasper nods.

"Okay, here we go." Charlotte says.

"What?" Henry asks tuning back into his friend's conversation.

"Maisie's uncle's store, Junk-N-Stuff. It says, needed, part-time helper for various duties." Charlotte says reading the Junk-N-Stuff job description.

"Doodies." Jasper says laughing.

"And, see, it says no special skills necessary." Charlotte says reading further down. Maisie walks over to Charlotte to read over her shoulder. Obviously Ray had made this but she's still confused as to why he'd say that knowing what the job truly entails.

"That's me! I've gotta go get that job!" Henry says running into the living room and grabbing the bowl of pinecones. "You guys get the pinecones." He says to Maisie and Charlotte, handing them to Charlotte .

"Sweet." Charlotte comments.

"I'll walk you over, I gotta be home soon anyways." Maisie says grabbing her backpack and slinging it over her shoulder. "Half of those pinecones are mine!" She calls over her shoulder.

"Good luck, Hen!" Charlotte calls as Maisie and Henry walk out the door.

"Thanks!" Henry says.

"Later, losers!" Maisie calls before Henry closes the door behind them.

Maisie and Henry walk into Junk-N-Stuff and the latter watches as he looks around the store in awe.

"Hey." She says catching Henry's attention. "I'm gonna go downstairs. I'll meet you down there. Kay?" She says, quickly glancing at Boris. Henry nods.

"Okay." Henry says. Maisie smiles and places a hand on his arm.

"You're gonna do great." She says and walks towards the back room, nodding at Gooch on the way. She takes the elevator down to the man cave and smiles at her uncle.

"You're late, May." He says taking his headphones off.

"Sorry, I was at Henry's house."

"Ohh, your boyfriend's house?" Ray says in a teasing voice.

"He's not my boyfriend and you know it." Maisie says tossing her backpack by the stairs leading to the tubes.

"Whatever you say, kid." Ray says putting his headphones back on. Maisie rolls her eyes and grabs her book from the circle couch and sits down next to Ray.

A few minutes later, the elevator door opens again and Henry stands up, walking into the man cave. Maisie nudges her uncle and he looks up to see Henry.

"Hello? Hey, how are ya? Cool! Thanks! Great to meet ya." Ray says taking his headphones off and tossing them behind the couch. "I'm doin' good. What's your name?"

"Um I'm Henry Hart. I'm here about the job?" Henry says looking around confused.

"Age?"

"Thirteen. I'll be fourteen on my next birthday." Henry explains.

"Ah, so, you're aging sequentially. I like that." Ray says and Henry looks at Maisie confused.

"Thanks."

"He's doing a thing, just let it play out." Maisie says.

"My name's Ray."

"Hi, Ray." Henry says.

"You ask a lot of questions." Ray says and Maisie tilts her head at the man's statement.

"I don't think I've asked any questions." Henry says.

"You haven't." Maisie says.

"Chocolate or vanilla?"

"Vanilla."

"Helicopters or kangaroos?"

"Helicopters?"

"Love it!" Pay praises. "Scrambled eggs or dynamite?"

"Both?" Henry says after thinking about it for a bit.

"Maybe." Ray says looking off into the distance.

"Complete this sentence. I'm sorry, mother, I didn't mean for my elephant to blank?" Ray says looking at Henry expectantly.

"Uh, lick dad." Henry says and the two start laughing. Maisie rolls her eyes at the two and walks over to the monitor.

"Oh, that's not funny." Ray says.

"No." Henry says in a serious tone.

"Um, is this the job interview?" Henry asks as Ray walks over to the monitor and Henry follows behind.

"Do you want it to be a job interview?" Ray asks looking back at the boy.

"Um, what is the job?"

"What do you think the job is?" Ray asks and Maisie rolls her eyes at all the questions her uncle is asking Henry.

"Uh, well, the ad said Part-time Helper. So, I'm thinking maybe you need someone to- to help you, you know, part time." Henry says as Ray starts squatting and looking at Henry, which makes the younger boy follow his movements. Maisie quietly laughs at the interaction.

"Do you ever dream about sleeping?" Ray asks pointing a finger at the boy.

"No." Henry says confused.

"Good! If you did, you'd be dead." Ray says, walking towards the middle of the room.

"I am so confused."

"Me too, Hen, me too." Maisie says, drawing out the last two words.

"David?" Ray says turning back to the two kids.

"Henry." Henry corrects.

"Can I trust you?"

"Sure."

"Can you keep a secret?"

"Totally." Henry says confidently.

"So I can trust you to keep a secret?" Ray asks.

"Yes, sir." Henry confirms.

"I'm gonna blow a bubble." Rays says, grabbing his gum tube and popping one in his mouth.

"You're gonna blow a bubble?" Henry says confused.

"Then I'm gonna blow your mind." Ray says and Henry turns to look at Maisie. She motions for him to watch Ray and as he turns back around, Ray blows a bubble and turns into Captain Man.

"You're- you're Captain Man!" Henry says excitedly.

"That's right, Henry." Ray says pointing at the boy. He looks down and notices that his zipper is halfway undone. "Oh, hold on a second." He says pulling on the zipper. "This stupid zipper! It always sticks! Come- Oh, that's my skin." Ray yells. "May, help!" Ray yells at his niece and she rolls her eyes.

"Top drawer." Maisie says pointing to the utility drawer. Ray grabs the tube out of the drawer and applies some to the zipper.

"There we go! Ha ha." Ray says when his zipper slides all the way up. "Woo! Always good to keep the old zipper lubed."

"Yeah, please don't ever say that again." Maisie says as she walks over to Henry.

"I- I can't believe I'm standing here talking to Captain Man." Henry says. "And I can't believe your uncle is Captain Man!" Henry says turning to Maisie.

"Yeah, he's not all that great once you get to know him." Maisie says, waving him off.

"Why? Are you a fan? Do you like me? Most people like me, but not everyone." Ray says ignoring his niece.

"Yeah, I'm a huge fan." Henry says and Ray smiles. "Oh, man, I've gotta tell Jasper about this." He says pulling out his phone. "He's gonna freak when I tell him I'm standing here next to Captain- Ah!" Henry says and yells when Ray lasers his phone, immediately dropping it on the ground.

"Sorry, but you can't tell your friends about this." Ray says.

"Okay, but did you have to melt my phone?" Henry asks.

"I'll get you a new one." Ray says.

"Really?" Henry says hopefully.

"No."

"I knew that was coming." Maisie mutters and sits back on the couch.

"So, Henry, tell me why you want a job." Ray says, standing next to Maisie.

"Well, you know, to learn responsibility and challenge myself."

"So, you want money." Ray guesses.

"Lots of money." Henry says, nodding his head. The elevator opens again and Ray and Maisie share a look when Henry turns to look at the old woman.

"Oh, is this the ladies' room?" The woman asks.

"No, ma'am, you're not supposed to be down here." Ray says, calmly.

"What an interesting place." The woman says looking around.

"Thank you, but I'm conducting a job interview, and you're very old, so could you please just get back in the elevator?" Ray asks.

"Oh, I'll just take me phone out of me purse and call me nephew." The woman says.

"Great, I'll just turn my back and look at something." Ray says turning around to look at the snack machine. The woman pulls a weapon out of her purse and aims it at Ray's back. Maisie's eyes widen and she stands up.

"Captain Man!" Henry yells, attempting to warn the man but the -seemingly not- old woman shoots him as he turns back around.

"Goodbye forever, Captain Man."

"Captain Man!" Maisie yells, leaning over the man. Ray opens his eyes a bit and sends the girl a small smile.

"No! Get off my back!" Maisie turns to watch Henry tries to take the man down.

"Quit talking like a British lady!"

"Stop pulling me wig over me eyes! I can't see!" The man says and Henry pushes him into the elevator.

"Captain Man! Capt- Captain Man, are you okay?" Henry says running over to the two.

"Captain Man is always okay." He says standing up. The elevator opens and Boris walks back out.

"Nice work, Boris." Ray praises.

"The boy did good job." Boris says.

"W-Wait. You know him?" Henry asks looking at the two.

"That's Boris. He works for me." Ray explains. "How'd you know he wasn't really an old lady?"

"Uh, 'cause of the tattoo on his neck. I saw it on him up in the store." Henry explains and Ray and Maisie nod. "And his boobs are too wobbly."

"True." Ray agrees. "Go get those under control." He says and Boris leaves through the secret door.

"Henry, you have a sharp eye, good instincts, a nice shirt, and you're brave." Ray says and Maisie smiles.

"Thanks."

"Do you know how to make sandwiches?" Ray asks.

"I do." Henry says.

"Then you have all the qualities I'm looking for."

"But, I-I don't" Henry says confused.

"You're the one, Henry." Ray says, walking over to the monitor.

"The one to make you a sandwich?"

"No."

"Oh."

"Well, yes." Ray says after thinking about it. "But everybody gets old someday, even Captain Man. I can't do this forever."

"Do what?" Henry asks.

"Protect our town, Swellview, from bad guys, - bad things, bad smells. Watch this!" Ray says showing Henry and Maisie and video of the toddler.

"Who's the freak in the diaper?"

"The Toddler." Ray says. "And don't let the diaper fool ya, kid. He's pure evil."

"Wow." Henry says.

"I'll show ya "wow". Watch this secret video that was intercepted by my people who intercept secret videos." Ray says and presses play on the video.

"You were supposed to bring me my applesauce two minutes ago! "

"I'm sorry, Toddler."

"Sorry don't make baby happy."

"Toddler, good news. The radioactive signite is here."

"Really? Wahoo! That means we can begin Phase 2 of my plan."

"Will someone wipe my face?"

"No!" The Toddler blows raspberries in the man's face. "Dang, that takes so much effort. Have one of our scientists build me a device to do that."

"To do what, sir?"

"This!" The Toddler says and blows more raspberries.

"You see that?" Ray asks.

"He's a maniac." Henry says and Maisie nods in agreement.

"And there's more maniacs like him all dangers to the good citizens of Swellview." Ray explains.

"Well, yeah, but, we've got you to stop 'em." Henry says.

"True. But I'm not as young as I used to be. I'm almost 34." Ray says. "I need help. And, someday, someone's gonna have to take over for me."

"Like- like me?" Henry asks.

"What do you say, Henry? Do you wanna be my sidekick?" Ray asks.

"How much does it pay?" Henry asks.

"Nine dollars an hour."

"Whoa!" Henry says.

"I know, right?" Ray says smiling.

"I told you he pays well." Maisie says.

"Whoa! Check this place out." Charolette says, as the video footage from Junk-N-Stuff pops up on the monitor.

"Hey, look at this thing. Wow, a bucket of swords!" Jasper says.

"What are they doing here?" Henry asks.

"There is honestly no telling." Maisie says crossing her arms and watching the surveillance footage.

"Friends of yours?" Ray asks the two kids.

"Uh-huh." Henry says.

"In Jasper's case, unfortunately yes." Maisie says watching her two other friends on the video surveillance.

"Jasper, please don't embarrass me." Charlotte says to the boy.

"Excuse me, sir?" Jasper says, gaining Gooch's attention.

"He's gonna do it." Charlotte says.

"Yes?"

"How much?" Jasper asks.

"Each sword is $100." Gooch says.

"No, no, now much for the bucket?" Jasper clarifies.

"The bucket?"

"That's not a bucket. That's a barrel." Charlotte explains to Jasper.

"It's close enough to a bucket." Jasper says to Charlotte and then turns back to Gooch. "I collect buckets."

"Don't say it." Charlotte warns.

"I'm a bucketeer!" Jasper says excitedly.

"Well, they seem like nice kids." Ray comments and Henry nods.

"Yeah, their names are Jasper and Charlotte." Henry says. "We've known them ever since-"

"Get rid of them." Ray says to the two kids.

"We'll get rid of them." Henry says and he and Maisie walk to the elevator.

"Hey!" Henry calls as the two walk into the front of the store.

"What up, losers." Maisie says as she follows behind Henry.

"Henry! Maisie!" Jasper greets.

"Did you get the job?" Charlotte asks Henry.

"Why are you guys here?" Henry asks.

"Yeah, you never come here when it's just me here." Maisie says crossing her arms.

"You hung up on us." Jasper says and Maisie looks at him confused.

"Did you get the job?" Charlotte asks again.

"Yeah." Henry says.

"Cool! Does that mean I can get a discount on this bucket?" Jasper says, seemingly only worried about the stupid barrel.

"That's a barrel." Maisie comments.

"Dude, it's my first day here." Henry says. "You've gotta-" Henry says but Jasper ignores him.

"Excuse me. Mysterious foreign man? Do Henry's friends get a discount here?" Jasper asks and Gooch and his plant shake their heads. "That plant just shook its head!"

"Wow!" Charlotte says amazed.

"Will you get him outta here!" Henry begs Charlotte.

"How much for the plant?" Jasper asks walking up to the counter. The plant starts to make noises protesting the boy's request and Gooch calms it down.

"The plant is not for sale." He explains.

"Bye, guys!" Henry says trying to get Charlotte and Jasper to leave.

"Yeah, I gotta train Henry." Maisie chimes in.

"Come on, I'll give ya seven bucks for it and one Canadian Loonie!" Jasper offers and the pant spits on Jasper. "Ah, it spit in my eye!"

"I told you Canadian money upsets people." Charlotte yells at the boy. Henry, Maisie and Charlotte begin to pull Jasper out of the store.

"Wait, what about my bucket? Just let me bring the bucket!" Jasper yells as they walk towards the steps.

"Go on!" Henry yells.

"Just go home, Jasper!" Maisie yells.

"I want my bucket!" Jasper protests.

"Will you shut up about the bucket!" Charlotte says.

"It's not a bucket!" Maisie says at the same time. They finally get Charlotte and Jasper out of the store and turn to go back downstairs.

"Carry on." Henry says to Gooch and follows after Maisie.

"I gotta wear this?" Henry asks as he looks in the mirror at the American flag costume Ray forced him into.

"All good sidekicks wear costumes." Ray says as he eats a banana and Maisie rolls her eyes.

"He looks like a bald eagle threw up on him." Maisie comments.

"Yeah, sorry, but... this is bad." Henry says.

"I have more options." Ray says and Henry walks back to change into the next uniform.

"Too sparkly." Ray says after Henry walked out in a purple sparkly uniform.

"Uh, it's a little Broadway." Ray says while eating watermelon slices.

"You're gonna make yourself sick." Maisie says as she watches him take another bite of watermelon.

"Too tight." Ray comments about the gold, skin tight uniform.

"Way too tight." Henry says, clearly uncomfortable.

"Now you look like C-3PO." Maisie says.

"Oh, man I ate a lot of fruit." Ray says after taking another bite of pineapple.

"I told not to eat all that fruit." Maisie says as Henry walks out in a uniform that matches Captain Man's.

"Hey! I like it." Ray comments.

"I like it, but it takes a lot of time to put on." Henry says.

"And that's why you'll need this special bubble gum." Ray says holding out a gum container to the boy.

"Special?" Henry asks.

"Read the instructions." Ray explains.

"Chew gum. Blow bubble. Fight crime." Henry says reading the instructions on the label of the gum tube. Ray grabs a bracelet off of the back of the couch. He kneels down and places it on Henry's wrist.

"What's this for?" Henry asks.

"It means we're engaged." Ray says and Henry looks at him confused.

"What?"

"Nah, I'm just kidding. That's how I'll contact you." Ray explains.

"Well, why can't you just call me?" Henry asks.

"I melted your phone." Ray reminds the boy

"Right." Henry says nodding.

"Now, listen closely. That wristband flashes." Ray says.

"Flashes." Henry repeats.

"A triple flashing light means emergency, like major sitch goin' down, so get here fast." Ray explains.

"Right." Henry says nodding.

"A double flashing light means it's just important." Ray says.

"And what does a single flashing light mean?" Henry asks.

"Just to, you know, shoot me a text whenever." Ray says.

"Got it."

"He gets kinda lonely." Maisie says and Ray gives her a look.

"Now, raise your right hand. Spread your fingers. Turn your head and cough." Ray says and Henry follows his directions.

"What?" Henry asks about the last direction and Ray chuckles.

"Joke." Ray says. "Put your left hand over your right lung and repeat after me. I, Henry Hart."

"I, Henry Hart." Henry repeats.

"Pledge to be an awesome sidekick to Captain Man." Ray says.

"Pledge to be an awesome sidekick to Captain Man." Henry repeats.

"And to never ever ever tell anyone that I am Captain Man's secret sidekick." Ray says.

"And to never ever tell anyone that I am Captain Man's secret sidekick." Henry says.

"You left out one ever." Ray says pointing at the boy.

"Ever." Henry says and Ray nods.

"It is done."

"Feels good!" Henry says, smiling and an alarm goes off.

"Uh-oh! What's up, Gooch?" Ray ask as everyone walks over to the monitors.

"Someone sabotaged the bridge over the Jandy River." Gooch says.

"The bridge is down?" Ray asks.

"Affirmative!" Gooch says.

"That means yes." Ray says to Henry.

"Yeah, I got that." He replies.

"Situation?" Ray asks Gooch and Maisie sits down in the chair using another one of the monitors to bring up the security footage of the bridge.

"Cars in the water. Lives in danger." Gooch explains.

"Yeah, this doesn't look good, Cap." Maisie says to her uncle.

"Understood." Ray says and turns off the video footage connected to Junk N' Stuff. "Phase 2 of the Toddler's plan. Let's ride!" He says, kissing the top of Maisie's head and running towards the tubes and Henry follows after him.

"What? Ride where?" Henry asks confused.

"We've got people in the Jandy River that need saving." Ray says. "Come on!"

"But you mean we're going there? Together? Like right now?" Henry says, surprised.

"Yeah, get into your tube." Ray says and Henry jogs up the steps and stands under the other open tube. "Ready?"

"For what?" Henry asks. Ray tabs his belt buckle and his tube close down around him.

"Up the tube!" Ray calls and the tube sucks him into the tube system.

"Wait. I don't know how to-" Henry says and cuts himself off. He raises his arms into the air and slams them down onto the ground. "Woosh!" He says jumping up into the air. Maisie laughs at the kids actions and walks closer to the tubes.

"Just tap your belt buckle." Ray yells down to Henry. Henry tabs his belt buckle and his tube comes down around him.

"Up the tube!" He calls and the tube sucks him up.

"Bye Hen!" Maisie calls.

"Okay, George has six times as many dimes as quarters in his piggybank." Charlotte says reading off a math problem to Maisie and Henry. Jasper runs into Henry's house slamming the door behind him.

"Oh, yeah! Oh, yeah! I got two responses!" Jasper cheers.

"To what?" Henry asks.

"My birthday party invitations." Jasper explains. "Two guys said they might come."

"I don't think that's a good thing." Maisie comments.

"Who?" Henry asks, ignoring Maisie.

"Sydney Birnbaum and Oliver Pook." Jasper says.

"Ugh!" Charlotte says in disgust.

"Those guys eat bugs." Henry says.

"So? They're people." Jasper defends.

"Gross people." Maisie says.

"When'd you get a new phone?" Jasper asks Henry when he notices the brand new phone in the blonde's hand.

"Oh, uh mine broke, so- what are you doing?" Henry asks when Jasper grabs his phone.

"You've gotta get this new app." Jasper says walking behind the couch.

"Wait, what app?" Henry asks.

"Hey, you never told us what you do at your new job." Charlotte says and Maisie's eye widen. This is gonna be fun to watch, she thinks.

"Ah, right, right." Henry says nodding.

"What do you do?" Charlotte says when Henry doesn't answer her question.

"I, uh-" Henry says scrambling for a lie when Jasper interrupts their conversation.

"App installed." Jasper says.

"Oh, great, the app, tell me about the app." Henry says turning around in his seat to face Jasper.

"It plays a billion sound effects like school bell." Jasper explains playing the sound. "Cat choking on a hairball. Ice cream truck." He says playing the other sounds.

"You have the brain of a hamster." Charlotte says and Maisie nods in agreement.

"I wish." Jasper says, staring off into the distance.

"Give me my phone." Henry says, rolling his eyes.

"Hey, did you guys hear what Captain Man did yesterday?" Jasper asks.

"Oh, yeah, the Dandy Bridge!" Charlotte says.

"So, if you divide nine X by the square root-" Henry says trying to get the duos attention back on their math homework.

"They say he pulled seven people out of the river and saved their lives." Charlotte says.

"Yeah." Jasper cheers.

"And he has a new sidekick. There's a story about it on my newsfeed." Charlotte says, pulling out her phone.

"Hey, hey, let's talk about your birthday party." Henry says, once again attempting to distract the two. "Help me." He mumbles to Maisie and she shakes her head.

"This is all you, Danger." Maisie says and Henry sighs.

"Here." Charlotte says. "For the first time ever Captain Man was not working alone." Henry grabs a cup off of the coffee table and throws it at the fireplace, shattering it.

"Whoa, how'd that break?" Henry asks, feigning confusion. Charlotte and Jasper ignore the boy and continue reading aloud off of Charlotte's phone.

"According to witnesses on the scene, Captain Man was heard calling his new sidekick Kid Danger." Charlotte continues to read and Henry slaps her phone out of her hand and across the living room and Maisie covers her face to hide her laugh.

"You just slapped my phone right out of my hand." Charlotte says in disbelief.

"Yeah, sorry, sorry." Henry says and stands up to pace. "I'm just I'm worried you, Mais, and I gotta study, and I'm worried about Jasper's party, and, just- I don't know." Henry's watch's begins to beep and Maisie perks up at this, knowing exactly what it means. "Uh, why don't you guys go to the zoo?"

"Why?" Charlotte asks.

"You know I got banned from the zoo." Jasper whines.

"I don't have time to go to the zoo." Maisie says and Henry shoots her a look, she just smiles in response.

"What is that?" Charlotte asks pointing to Henry's wrist.

"What, my thumb?" Henry asks, holding out his thumb.

"The bracelet. That's beeping and flashing on your wrist." Charlotte explains.

"Uh it's, uh- it's a timer." Henry responds.

"What are you timing?" Charlotte asks.

"Muffins?" Henry says, making something up on the spot.

"Ooh, I love muffins!" Maisie announces.

"You're making muffins?" Charlotte asks.

"Uh, birthday muffins." Henry says, pointing to Jasper.

"Yes!" Jasper cheers.

"Dang, there goes the surprise. I'll just turn this off. I'll just push the button." Henry says, struggling to find a way to turn off the alarm but fails to turn it off and opts to shove his hand down his pants.

"It's still on." Jasper points out.

"No, it's not." Henry denies.

"We can see it flashing through your pants." Charlotte says.

"And we can still hear it beeping." Jasper chimes in.

"I know." Henry says grabbing the pillow sitting on Maisie's lap and using it to cover the waistline of his pants. "I, uh I need a pickle!" He throws the pillow at Maisie and runs out of the house. Maisie smacks the pillow away before it can hit her in the face and spins around to face Henry.

"Rude!" She yells after him.

"Wait! I thought we were gonna study." Charlotte calls.

"Bring me back a pickle!" Jasper says after the front doors already slams closed behind Henry.

Maisie and Charlotte thank Mrs. Paige for driving them to Jasper's house and walk up to the front porch.

"Do I have to go?" Maisie whines for the hundredth time that night.

"Jasper is one of our best friends." Charlotte says.

"I know but, this is gonna be a bad party." Maisie points out.

"Just push through for Jasper." Charlotte says and Maisie nods. The two girls walk into the Dunlop household and make their way down to the basement to see Jasper slapping Oliver and Sydney's stomachs. "Wow." Charlotte says when they stop on the landing of the stairs, gaining the boys attention and Jasper stops slapping the two other boy's stomachs. "Cool party!"

"Where's Henry?" Jasper complains.

Henry had finally gotten to Jasper's party and tbe four best friend we're currently watching Oliver and Sydney we're screaming at each other through a telephone made of cups and some string.

"They've been doing that for two hours." Charlotte says.

"Worst two hours of my life." Maisie mutters, shaking her head.

"My party's a flop." Jasper says and walks past his friends. "I'm just gonna go upstairs and sit in my closet with my cat." The group heard someone bounding down the stairs towards the basement and Captain Man appeared on the landing.

"Pardon me? My Man Van broke down out there in the street, so I walked into this house and came down to this basement." Captain Man explains and Jasper, Charlotte, Sydney, and Oliver look up at the man shocked.

"Holy, chunks, you're- you're Captain Man!" Jasper exclaims.

"Thank you." Captain Man says pointing at the boy.

"You're my hero!" Jasper says.

"Of course." Captain Man responds and Maisie rolls her eyes.

"Mine, too." Charlotte chimes in. "Um, I'm Charlotte. Hi, Mr. Cap- Maptain Can. I mean-" Charlotte cuts herself off and starts awkwardly laughing.

"That's enough." Captain Man says and Charlotte immediately stops.

"I'm so sorry." She says.

"And, um, I'm Henry." The boy says holding out his hand for Captain Man to shake.

"Nice to meet you, Henry."

"Maisie." The brunette says and nods her head at the superhero in greeting.

"Hey, Captain Man?" Jasper says.

"Yes? A question." Captain Man says.

"Can I hit you in the head with a baseball bat?" The boy asks.

"Dude!" Henry scolds.

"Jas, you can't just ask him that-"

"No, no, it's okay." Captain Man reassures the two kids. "But remember, kids, never do this to anyone but Captain Man, because regular people could be badly inj- ow!" He shouts in pain as Jasper breaks the bat over his head.

"Wow!"

"I wasn't done talking." Captain Man says.

"Did that hurt?" Charlotte asks.

"Yeah." Captain Man says, nodding. "But I'm okay." All of the kids cheer for him and he smiles at them. "Well, I should call a tow truck to come pick up my Man Van."

"Or, it's my best friend Jasper's birthday party." Henry says.

"Oh! Oh! Yeah! Yeah! It is." Jasper cheers.

"You can stay and party with us, if you wanna." Charlotte suggests.

"Will there be soup?" The superhero asks.

"I'll open a can." Jasper says.

"Then I'd love to stay and party with you guys." He replies and everyone smiles brightly at the man.

"Uh, Captain Man?" Henry asks.

"Yes, boy?" Captain Man says turning his attention to his sidekick.

"Would it be cool, if Jasper texted a few friends from school and told them you were here at his party?" He asks and Maisie nearly cracks a smile at the look on her uncle's face.

"Yeah, can I?" Jasper asks.

"Sure, I love being used." Captain Man says.

"Yay!" Charlotte cheers, sharing a smile with Maisie.

"Wow, thanks! This is like the coolest thing that's ever happened to me." Jasper says, shaking Captain Man's hand.

"Are your hands always this sweaty?" Captain Man asks and Maisie laughs.

"Yes, sir." Jasper says enthusiastically.

"He takes medicine for it." Henry elaborates.

"Well, it's not working." Captain Man says wiping the curly haired boy's hand sweat on his shirt.

"Okay, okay, get the lights." Henry calls after we walks down the stairs with a large pan in his hands.

"Happy Happy Happy Happy Birthday Happy Happy Happy Happy Birthday Everybody wants to wish you a Happy Birthday!" The group of party goers sing.

"Muffins." Jasper says.

"Yeah."

"Well, make a wish." Charlotte encourages. Jasper blows out his candles and everyone cheers.

"Okay, switch on the lights."

"Happy Birthday, Jasper." A boy in the crowd of kids call.

"Hey, where'd Captain Man go?" Jasper asks and everyone looks around for the superhero.

"He's gone." Maisie says, looking around.

"Aw, why'd he leave?" Jasper says, frowning at the sudden absence of the superhero.

"He probably had to go do superhero stuff." Charlotte suggests.

"And you did break a bat over his head." Henry mentions.

"Yeah."

"People don't like that." Maisie says, shaking her head.

"Hey. If it makes you feel any better, me, Charlotte, and Maisie got you something." Henry says and Jasper smiles at his best friends.

"What?" He asks.

"Look." Henry says gesturing to the barrel with a big red bow tied to it.

"You got me the bucket?" Jasper says in amazement.

"It's a barrel." Charlotte corrects. Maisie rolls her eyes as Charlotte leads her towards the makeshift dance floor.

"You know, Char, I'm really glad you made me come." Maisie says turning to her best friend.

"See what happens when you listen to me!" Charlotte says and Maisie laughs. "Are you going to start listening to me more?"

"What's the fun on that?" Maisie asks and Charlotte groans.

"Would somebody turn on the music?" Charlotte calls over Maisie's shoulder. A boy from their class plays the music again and the two girls begin dancing along to the music. The curly haired girl notices Jasper standing by himself and moves closer to him. "Birthday boy!" Charlotte yells pointing to Jasper and everyone cheers for the boy and then goes back to dancing to the music.

And there's the prologue!! We will be starting in season 2 and I am so excited for this story!!
