Danger In Love: Over
((Hello again guys, first things first, this story is now at 1.4k reads, and jeez, I did not expect that. Honestly I'm a crappy writer and I don't know why people stick with me but thank you guys so much! :) Anyway sorry if this chapter isn't as exciting as the last, but it will pick up again very soon.))
The drive is silent, which was plenty okay with Mark. He needed some quiet, thoughts rocketing through his brain, and the image of Felix's body still in his mind. He focuses on nothing but the road, and his own trembling hands which clutched the wheel.
After the day he thought he killed Felix, he locked himself away. It had haunted him for ages. But this time it was so much worse. His anger took hold of him, made him pull the trigger over and over again.
A honk pulls him from his thoughts as he see's he was drifting into the opposite lane. He shakes his head and moves over again, telling himself silently to pull himself together.
Soon he arrives to the house, he looks over to the green haired man, only to find him asleep. Mark smiles slightly and climbs out of the car not waking the man. He walks over to the passenger side and opens the door, unbuckling the seat belt and lifting Sean into his arms.
The Irish man was fairly light, so it wasn't difficult to carry him inside and into the guest bedroom, now basically claimed as his own. Mark lays him down and covers the man gently with the blanket before looking at him.
His green hair was a mess, and he had dark circles under his eyes, proving once again sleep was definitely what he needed. His chest slowly rose and fell with steady breaths, and Mark smiles. Jack looked pretty cute when he was asleep, innocent even.
Mark shakes his head and looks over at a clock on the wall. 11:00. It had been a long few days, Mark really should go to bed. As Mark prepares to leave the room, he hears a small groan from Jack.
"Mark?"
Jack mumbles quietly, his voice tired and still half asleep. Mark looks down into his tired blue eyes and smiles slightly.
"Don't worry we're home... you can rest Sean... goodnight."
Mark says quietly before beginning to walk away. Before he can get to far Jack grabs his wrist gently, his tired eyes looking up at the man a bit pleadingly.
"Stay?..."
Jack says quietly, his voice groggy. Mark hesitates before nodding slightly, he lays down on the bed next to Jack, facing the man.
Jack, still in his half asleep faze scoots closer and cuddles into the red haired man. Burying his face in the fabric of Mark's chest and clutching Mark's shirt, as though he was afraid that letting go would result in losing the man all together.
Mark's cheeks heat slightly but he doesn't move, simply wrapping his arms around the slightly smaller man. Soon Mark can hear Jack's breathing steady once again, and a soft snore to release every so often making Mark smile.
"Goodnight Sean..."
Mark mumbles quietly, leaning down to kiss the man's head gently before he himself falls asleep, cuddled next to the man.
The next morning it was about 1pm before either of them woke up as they both were exhausted.
Mark was the first to wake up, Jack still cuddled in his arms. Mark smiles slightly as his cheeks warm a bit. He had slept strangely well considering the events that took place just last night, having someone next to him was comforting. He could get used to waking up like this. The thought of waking up to this every morning widened his smile.
Mark lays there for another few minutes before remembering Jack and him hadn't eaten in days. Mark finally stands up, careful not to wake the sleeping man beside him. As soon as Mark gets out of the bed, he misses the warmth of Jack beside him.
He walks to the kitchen and opens a couple cuboards before grabbing a thing of pancake mix and putting together the ingredients.
He is about halfway done cooking all the pancakes when he hears footsteps down the hallway. He looks up to see the green haired man rubbing his eyes gently with a yawn.
"What smells so good?"
Jack asks as he walks out sitting at the counter with another yawn. Mark smiles slightly and looks at him.
"Well I know we both must be starving by now, so i'm making some pancakes."
Mark says making Jack's face light up. Jack rubs his stomach, realizing how hungry he really was and nods.
"Sounds great, need help?"
Jack asks standing up and running a hand through his bedhead.
"Hm... you could make the coffee if you'd like."
Mark says with a shrug, nearly finished with the pancakes. Jack nods and walks over to the coffee machine and grabbing the coffee beans.
"Do you know how to use the machine."
Mark asks shooting a glance over his shoulder to the man.
"Mark Coffee is my life, I think I know how to use a coffee maker."
jack says with a scoff making Mark laugh quietly. Jack smiles at his laugh and looks over at him, it was nice to see him smiling, and it seemed he had all but forgotten the horrors of the past night or perhaps simply pushed them away for the time being. Either way it was a nice change.
Soon the table is set with two plates and two mugs, the plates each filled with a large stack of pancakes, and each mug filled to the brim with black coffee.
The two men sat across from eachother. Jack had doused his pancakes in syrup while Mark did a slight drizzle. Jack takes one small bite at first before fully digging in, finishing the stack surprisingly quickly. When Jack was finished Mark still had about half a stack left.
"Jeez you pig."
Mark says jokingly taking another bite of his pancakes. Jack sticks his tongue out at the man teasingly.
"Whatever I was hungry."
Jack counters grabbing his mug and taking a large gulp of his coffee, not seeming to mind its heat. Mark soon finishes as well and sips his coffee. He sets his mug down and looks at Jack.
"Hey Sean. I've been thinking."
Mark says after a few seconds. Jack sets his mug down and tilts his head at the man with a small smile.
"thats dangerous."
He says with a small laugh.
"What about?"
Mark fiddles with his thumbs under the table, not knowing whether to ask this question or not, but soon speaks again.
"Well, I was thinking maybe we could try and get you a job working with me...."
Mark says, as Jack looks at him surprised.
"I mean, we make a good team, and we could always use a good hacker... besides its probably safer than what you do now."
Mark says with a small smile, his brown eyes boring into Jack's surprised blue ones.
"I...."
Jack says thinking it over before a huge smile rounds his face.
"I would like that."
He finally says making Mark smile relieved.
"Great, I was thinking we could go in today, I need to talk to my boss anyhow."
Mark says standing up from the table and clearing the dishes. As he walks into the kitchen Jack calls after him.
"Sounds good, but first I need to shower... I feel gross."
Jack says making an overexxagerated gagging noise. Mark chuckles and calls back from the kitchen.
"Go ahead. Towels are in the closet by the bathroom door."
Jack nods and walks off.
He turns on the shower water and strips of his dirty clothes before climbing in. The warm water washes over him and he sighs contently. He lathers his hair in shampoo, relieving it of all the grime and dirt. Thinking to himself as he did.
He was going to get to work with Mark, this excited him and he wasn't fully sure why.
About an hour past before they were both ready and on their way to the building. Jack clearly excited, and nearly bouncing in his seat, which made Mark smile. When they arrive Mark parks right up front and they both exit the car walking in the doors.
Once they walk in, instantly a bad feeling hits the two. Everything was off, no one was inside the building, it was completely empty it seemed.
"Where the hell is everyone...."
Mark mumbles under his breath his eyes scanning the room. It was normal at times for the building to not be very busy, but this was too empty, too strange. And it left an odd feeling in Marks gut, something telling him to get out as soon as possible.
He ignores this feeling and walks forward a bit with Jack following him, the man clearly feeling odd as well, as he seemed tense. Mark stays in front of him protectively as they walk, his brown eyes narrowing as someone stepped out into the open, standing a few feet away from them and holding a large pistol in each hand.
The man had a balding black hair of head and Mark recognized him instantly, Jack seeming to recognize the man as well which seemed strange.
"Sir? Whats going on, where is everyone?"
The man, Mark's boss, smiles slightly at the two.
"Everyone is out.... its not important."
He says in a gruff voice.
"Congratulations on your latest mission Mark..."
He finishes, a slight growl to his voice as he does. Mark narrows his eyes but says nothing in response, his hand reaching under his coat slightly as to rest on his holstered gun.
"Unfortunately... You were supposed to die in that place... both of you were. But one of my men went rogue it seemed..... Felix was it? He was intent on doing things his way. On killing you."
Mark's boss says with a glare directed at both men. Mark tenses slightly at the mention of Felix but keeps his seemingly calm demeanor.
"Now... Once again I'll have to take control of the situation..."
The boss says, lifting up his arm with one of the guns and aiming at Mark.
"It's Over."
