92. Bulletproof Girl
Bulletproof Girl is almost certainly going to die.
"Prisoner is not rendering any useful information on the location of the hideout," she vaguely remembers hearing, although she is not sure where she heard it. Probably at one of her electrocution sessions. "Termination due in three days."
She takes comfort in this.
Three days. Three more days, and then it will b all over. No more torture, no more screaming, no more memories relived over and over until she fells they are burned into her eyelids. No more anything.
Bulletproof no longer knows what reality is. It has shaken like a vase upon a shelf, fallen, crashed down to the ground and broken into a million pieces. She is aware of fleeting moments, of nightmares and visions and pain rocketing through her body, but not much else.
The BL/ind soldiers and guards have tried to get her to eat, but every time food is put in front of her, she refuses it. She is more skin and bones than organs and flesh.
Her animalistic desire to survive, her last hope, has burnt out, replaced by nothing. Bulletproof Girl only feels two things now; pain, and the desire for it to be over.
She tries so hard to grasp onto memories of where she came from before this, the good memories, after she's had a nightmare or horrifying flashback. She recalls faces, but never names.
There is one face she recalls best, a face with brown eyes and light brown hair, and a smile that switches between warm and weary. She's pretty sure that he's...well, whatever she was before this, because many of her memories show him in a mask, and she knows she used to wear one. Or at least, she's pretty sure.
She had shared a strong bond with this person, whoever he was. She's almost certain of it. She doesn't feel this bond now--she rarely feels anything--but she's pretty sure that it had been real once. Bulletproof Girl almost wishes she could still feel it. Sometimes, she spends hours, just trying to remember, to the point of frustration and blind anger.
It doesn't matter, anyway. Her termination is imminent, like the guards said.
