An Awkward Assassin

After a few painful hours, the reserve course girls were ready to leave. Michio had never seen Jikkō looking so worn out, and he couldn't help but be amused by this.

"We should hang out more, Zetami-kun~!" Yui exclaimed as they now stood outside the mall. Both her and Mika now had some shopping bags, even after Michio lectured his sister about not buying expensive stuff she'd never use.

"Maybe..." Michio muttered. He had only come because Mika had to get her way no matter what, and he'd prefer the less painful route of just agreeing.

Yui let out a small nervous laugh as Mika sent her a glare. "I-I mean, only as friends of course! Nothing more!"

"That's right!" Mika exclaimed cheerfully with a bright smile. Michio sighed, looks like I have to tell her not to scare people again.

Once they parted ways, Jikkō gave Michio a slight punch in the shoulder. "I can't believe you made me suffer through that."

"Hey, it was hard for me too." Michio replied, before a small smirk appeared on his face. "But, it was pretty funny to see how much they weakened you."

"Shut up. Jerk." Jikkō grumbled, looking away. "I just can't stand seeing people that just spend money as a pastime. It's a complete waste if they don't really need it."

"Didn't you buy a mansion for just two people?" Michio asked, tilting his head a bit.

Jikkō let out a small sigh. "That was my father's decision. When he makes up his mind, there's no room for debate."

"Kinda like Mika, then." Michio muttered.

The assassin slowed her pace and bit her lip, looking down at the ground. "Zetami-kun... there's something that's been on my mind lately."

"What's up?" Michio asked, once again matching his pace with hers. "Is it a boy~?" He said in a teasing tone.

Jikkō stayed quiet for a few seconds, her cheeks turning pink. "Well..." She paused. "Of course not, you know I'm not like that. I just wanted to say..." She paused again.

"I know... about Fujikawa. How she's been acting. It's quite obvious, really. I don't think she'd actually hurt you though, it's probably all just empty threats." The black haired girl explained all too quickly.

"Oh, that..." Michio replied, though he was pretty sure that wasn't what Jikkō wanted to talk about. "Well, I'm not too sure... Hey, how much do you hire for?"

"I'm not killing our classmate." Jikkō stated with a light glare. "But, I'll still have your back. I do still think you should make a move on Nozomi."

"I've tried, but the guy's so goddamn dense..." Michio sighed. "I gave up partly for the sake of my sanity."

"Good point." Jikkō responded as they finally reached the dormitories. They stopped in the entrance of the building, and Jikkō turned to Michio with the smallest of smiles. "Well... see you later."

Michio nodded. "See ya, Jikkō-chan." He replied with a small wave, and they both went to the opposite sides of the building.
