Ps - Also, this is AU, so naturally Shuichi's backstory is drastically different from the canon. Just to let you guys know, but everything else is the same except the whole killing game shit.

The whole group walks through the park with Kokichi happily skipping next to his taller boyfriend. Shuichi takes a deep sigh and smiles softly, where Maki rolls his eyes while Kaede and Kaito having a friendly chat.

Behind them is a strange and tall man with a golden opera mask covering his eyes. He wears a purple shirt with black rimming and has his trademark knee-length magenta cape flowing over it with a golden X-shaped fixture to hold the cape in place and has two rings protruding out of the lower front halves of it. He also wears a pair of baggy white tights are tucked into his stylized black and purple boots, these boots have golden toecaps that have a silver colored nail-like fixture on the top; the mouth of the boots also have a white and golden cuff to them. 

The man takes out a radar where it's going very crazy as it's pointing at none other than Shuichi. He smirks as he walks up to them with a soft smile and says in a polite tone, "Excuse me children."

"Mmm?" Kaede muttered.

The whole group turns to him and Kokichi suddenly bursts into laughter as he points at him and shouts, "Holy shit! Somebody please call the fashion police! Cuz you look like a low quality cosplayer! Ha ha ha!!!"

"Kokichi!" Shuichi told him off as he quickly turns to the man, "I'm so sorry about my boyfriend! He can be... a bit rude at times..."

"Don't you mean, all the time?" Kaito corrected him.

"Shut up, Kaito Stupid!" Kokichi replied back.

"Why I atta-!"

"Shut up!" Maki told the both of them, "Do you two want to die today?!"

"N-No ma'am!" Kaito replied.

"Yes!" Kokichi replied back.

"No!" Shuichi shouted and turns to the man, "Sorry! They're a bit chaotic!"

"Yeah... sorry about that, Mr..." Kaede apologised.

"Please, just call me Relius," The man replied. "I needed some help with finding something very sentimental to me."

"Why not the police?" Maki asked him.

"Well... I don't want to bother them with something mundane and I thought if you, young children," Relius answered, "Could, at least recommend a detective or something alike?"

The whole group looks at Shuichi, which he blushes a bit and shyly replies, "W... well... I am a detective, so..."

"Not just any detective!" Kokichi commented, "He's the Ultimate detective!"

"Oh please... I... ahem..."

"Ah! Wonderful!" Relius replied. "I hope I don't take too much of your time. It will only take about ten minutes hopefully,"

"... Sure, I guess I can try." Shuichi accepted.

Kokichi pouted and shouts, "I'm coming too!!!"

"... The more, the merrier the old saying goes," Relius said. "Now, I'll shall take you to where I last have it."

"Yay! Mystery!" Kokichi cheered.

Kaede looks at Shuichi and says, "We'll wait for you at the school gates, okay?"

"Okay, thanks Kaede." Shuichi thanked her.

Shuichi and Kokichi follows Relius while the others move along to the academy. Kokichi stares at him with tense in his eyes as he whispers to his boyfriend, "He's lying!"

"What?" Shuichi whispered back.

"He's lying!" Kokichi repeated himself, "At least... I think he is. I can't honestly tell..."
"What?"

As long as he knew him, Kokichi has a amazing knack for spotting lies considering he's a liar as well. Yet, now he couldn't tell.

"Why not?" Shuichi whispered.

"... There's no emotions in his tone," Kokichi explained quietly, "I don't know how to describe it. It's like those dog whistles, where you know there's some noise, but you can't hear it. It's like that."

"..." Shuichi gulped.

Relius turns around and asks, "It's something the matter, gentlemen?"

"N-No! Nothing wrong!" Shuichi lied.

"Yep! Everything is a-Okay!" Kokichi lied as well.

"Very well than, we're nearly there." Relius replied.

The trio finally arrives at an alleyway, where Kokichi, right away has a nasty gut feeling. The same goes with Shuichi who is feeling the same way.

"What should we do?" Shuichi asked quietly.

"Just play along for now," Kokichi replied. "Maybe he'll slip up..."

"... Okay than..."

The couple follows Relius to the dark alleyway, which the masked man grins secretly...
