For You//Saihara x Reader

"I'd do anything for you......

I would die for you."

The puddles splashed beneath you as you ran through the pouring rain. You didn't have your umbrella and you had to run to your house. You cursed and shivered as you kept your arms close to your chest.

You saw a vehicle pull up beside you, the black tinted windows rolling down.

"Saihara?"

"Hop in!"

You complied to the boy's request, sliding in the warm black leather seats of the backseat.

"Did you forget your umbrella?"

"Uh...yeah. I forgot it at home." You said, shifting in the seat.

"I know you're lying Y/N. Did one of the bullies steal your umbrella? Did Miranda do this? I swear when I get my hands on them-"
Saihara gripped the steering wheel tightly.

"Stop. It's no use." You sighed. "It's never going to stop so there's use trying."

"Why do you let them push you around?" Saihara scoffed. "They're not good people."

You clenched your teeth. "I...I have no choice."

Saihara pulled to a stop at your house. He pulled out his umbrella and walked you in, making sure the door was shut tightly behind him.

You dried off, getting into fresh clothes and sitting on the couch. He handed you a cup of hot cocoa and faced you intently.

"Now tell me Y/N....what do they have against you?"

You bit your lip, holding your mug. "I can't tell you. You'll think I'm a monstrosity. You'll hate me."

Saihara put his cup down, holding your chin in his delicate hands. He kissed your nose gently. "I would never hate you Y/N..."

You blushed, feeling a bit embarrassed as his eyes gazed into yours for what seemed like an eternity.

"I love you Y/N." He whispered.

You widened your eyes in shock and disbelief. He loved you? Was this a joke? You two had always been close but you never knew he would actually have feelings back...

"I love you too Saihara.." You pulled him into an embrace, the two of you curled up on the couch.

You talked for the rest of the night about everything. Your insecurities. Your fears. Your goals. Your feelings. You felt like you could share anything with the man you loved.

But how long would that last?

"Now....could you tell me what they have against you?" He curled a piece of your hair behind your ear.

"It's not important. I'll tell you tomorrow." You said drowsily.

"Of course it's important Y/N. They are going to continue to use you....and I don't want you to get caught up with their awful beings...I care about you love."

You kissed him on the lips gently. "Don't worry. Let's just talk about it tomorrow."

You could tell he was flustered by the kiss and complied easier. He cuddled up next to you and kissed your forehead before closing his eyes and going to sleep.

You closed your eyes as well, afraid of what tomorrow would bring.
I don't want to mess this up. I love him so much...I just can't imagine losing him. I can't tell him my secret....

You could hear the birds flap their wings and screech in the distance distortedly, as you rubbed your tired eyes.

You looked at Saihara, who was still sleeping peacefully. You brushed his hair to the side, looking at his beautiful face.

"I love you." You whispered.

"I love you too."

"Ahh!" You screamed, jumping back.

Saihara chuckled and you threw a pillow at him. "Startled?"

"What? No!" You gasped.

"Come on." He said, looking at the clock. "It's time to go to school."

School was tiresome. As always. You would get confronted in the hallways by the bullies and get the same treating. You would go to class, and get the same grades.

It was nothing special.

The only reason you tolerated it was him.

He made everything in your life whole.

He was your light.

You were walking with him out of the school, hand in hand.

"Y/N...do you truly care about me?"

"Of course....why are you asking?"

"I just...it's just hard to believe someone cares about me."

You stopped him in his tracks, standing in front of him.

"How dare you? You're the most lovable thing in the world!" He blushed and you continued. "Who wouldn't love you?"

"I...just wanted to make sure you truly cared."

"Saihara." You said seriously, looking at him in the eye. "I love you so much, and that's why I'm so afraid. I'm so afraid of losing you. I'm so afraid of letting go. I would do anything in the world for you Saihara. You mean so much to me....I would even die for you."

Silence lingered in the air uncomfortably.

"Thank you Y/N." He said, tearing up. "I love you."

"I love you to-"

"Well well we'll. Fancy meeting you two here."

"Miranda?"

She stood behind you, alone.

"Where's your lackeys? Aren't they supposed to guard you?" You sneered.

She scoffed. "I don't need them. I just need you, Saihara, to step away from Y/N."

"What? Why?"

"Don't you understand Saihara? Don't you know what she is?" She hissed, looking at me with disgust.

"Whatever she is, you shouldn't act like this. She's a human being. Just like you."

"Funny you should say that Saihara." She looked at you. "Why don't you tell him? Or I will." She sneered.

You gulped, looking at Saihara.

"You don't have to tell me Y/N."

"Saihara.........I'm not human."

"What?"

You shivered, closing your eyes. You unleashed your Faunus ears, awaiting his response.

When you looked up, your heart broke. His expression was filled with horror and betrayal.

"A Faunus? No. You can't be...." He stepped back, almost tripping.

"Saihara! I can explain I promise!"

"Get away from me!" He stumbled into a table before running out the doors.

"Saihara!" You yelled, turning back to Miranda. "Why? Why would you do this to me?"

"Because the faunus are scum. They are monsters. And Saihara will only get hurt being with you."

"I was going to tell him-"

"When? And did you really expect him to just understand? You do realize how his parents died....don't you?"

Your insides felt like mush, as you came upon the realization.

"No..."

"Stay out of his life Y/N. I'm warning you."

You turned to her. "What made you so cold?"

For a moment, a sad gleam washed over her eyes. "You're not the only one who has been in love before."

You pushed her out of the way, running after Saihara. You felt your footsteps in the soggy ground, making mud and dirt fly everywhere. The sky drizzled, but you didn't care.

You followed him into the woods, trying to track his footprints down.

From the tops of the trees, you saw a building. It was gray, and it shone from the rainfall.

You stepped into it, and shivered from the cold breeze.

"Hello? Saihara? Are you in here?"

Silence filled the air, and you could only hear the drops of water and the grass flowing in the wind.

After a few moments, you heard something shuffle and click. You saw Saihara, in the other corner, appear. He held a weapon that you knew too well.

A gun.

He aimed it at you, his eyes filled with terror and anger.

"What are you doing?" You struggled to get the words out. It's like every time you tried to speak or do something your body wouldn't let you. Your stomach felt weak, as you came to the realization.

You were stuck. You were broken.

Saihara held the gun shakily. You could see the pain in his eyes. The fear. The anger. The same kind of eyes you saw the past 17 years of your life.

You knew that this was the end. At least the years of pain and torment of this world would finally be over.

You could only smile at the man you loved, looking at his striking silver eyes.

"I knew I would always die for you." You felt your tough shell shatter into a million pieces. You felt as if those pieces stabbed and attacked you all at once, tears flowing down your delicate cheeks. You couldn't stop sobbing, still trying to smile through the piercing pain.

Saihara gritted his teeth, still holding the gun.

For a split second, you thought he would change his mind. Maybe he realized he loved you. Maybe he realized what he was doing was wrong. Maybe he wouldn't do it.

But you knew it was all a fantasy as he shook his head and aimed at you again.

You had never experienced true pain in all of your life, in all of your years, than his last words.

"I....I hate you."

A gunshot rang out through the forest. The birds flew off the branches in a panic and the animals shot away in a frenzy.

One alive.

One dead.

Yet two broken hearts were found there that day.
