"Byakuya?"

"Hmm?" Togami lifted his head up from the book he was reading, giving you his undivided attention.

"Yes Y/N?"

"Can you promise me something?" You asked sheepishly, blushing.

"Depends on what is is."

"I....will you promise me..that you will stay by my side forever?"

Byakuya gave you a frown.

"Forever? That's a tall order. What if I die or something? Or what if you break up with me?"

You rolled your eyes. "I won't ever leave you. I love you dummy. I..just wanted to make sure that you would be loyal is all. So many people get cheated on." You trailed off.

Togami gave you a small grin.

"Don't worry Y/N. I love you. J-Just don't tell anyone I said that though. It would be quite embarrassing." His cheeks were slightly pink but he was trying to hide it.

"I won't Byakuya. I love you too. I'm glad we feel the same way." You kissed him, happily and excited that you two would be living your lives together.

But happiness can quickly fade into despair.

(Present time)

It was 10 p.m. Togami wasn't home. His mansion felt the same emptiness it had felt for weeks. He wasn't home, he came home late, then gone to work early in the morning.

You slammed your cup down angrily. You mouthed "sorry" then realized you were talking to a teacup. Wow. Typical.

You sipped your tea at the table, looking how empty it was, around.No one sitting at the other side. No one telling you "stop looking like a doofus." It was, boring. Depressing even.

"Togami." You whispered.

You missed him dearly. All the good times together. Now, all he was interested in was his work. Work this. Work that.

"I wish he had time for me." You confessed, but realized no one was there to comfort you.

You groaned and pulled your phone out.

Y/N:Hey Angie.
Angie:Hey Y/NNNN!!!
Y/N: Are u busy today?
Angie: Nope! Have a day off. Why?
Y/N: Could I hang out with you?
Angie: Isn't Togami around?
Y/N: what do you think?
Angie: oh. I'm sorry. Come over to my place! We can have a day out! Or something.
Y/N:sure. I'll be right there.

You put your phone away and drove to Angie's house.

You and Angie had a fun day, playing funny games, truth or dare, battleship, watching funny videos, etc.

"Thanks for having me Angie!"

"Anytime! God loves you!"

You smiled.

You haven't felt this happy since Togami was around.

Would he be home by now?

You walked up the steps and opened the large doors, greeted by a mad looking Togami.

"Where were you? I've been waiting for an hour and you haven't been answering your phone!" Togami yelled.

You bit your lip. "Byakuya, my phone was on silent. Plus, you've been gone all the time! So why can't I?"

Togami shook his head. "Idiot. I had work. I can't control that."

Immediately, his phone buzzed. He looked at the screen and then put it away in a hurry.

"I'm going to have to go. They need me to finish up the project tonight."

"But..you just got here Togami! Don't leave me! Please! It's so lonely without you here!" You confessed, your heart was tearing apart.

Togami looked at you with the most emotionless glance you've ever seen. "I have to go to work. I'm sorry Y/N."

"But...I..."

"Sorry Y/N. I'll see you tomorrow."

He shut the doors, earning a loud shutting sound as you stood there, tearing up.

"I love you Byakuya." You choked.

If he isn't going to be with me, I'll be with him! I'll follow him to work.

You sneakily sneaked to your car and followed Togami's, being really careful for Togami not to notice you.

It worked and oddly, he drove off in a different direction than work.

"Where is he going?"

Different thoughts came to mind. Things you ruled out immediately on the spot.

He drove in the direction of Kyoko's house, and sure enough, parked in her driveway.

No. He wouldn't do this to me. I can't be stupid.

You were panicking. Really bad. What if he really was going to see Kyoko behind your back?

You parked on the other side of the street and sneaked up to the window.

You pressed your ear to it.

"Sorry I'm late Kyoko, things were holding me up."

"Like Y/N? You haven't broken up with her yet?!"

"I promise I will, I just don't know how to break the news to her. She's pretty sensitive."

Sensitive?

"I guess but hurry up. I want that b**ch out so I can be with you all the time."(sorry Kyoko fans)

Kissing sounds and squeaking of furniture could be heard.

Tears welled up in your eyes.

(The next morning)

"I have the day off Y/N. But I need to tell you something first." Togami sat in his chair, smiling at you.

"I need to tell you something as well." You frowned, clenching your fists.

"Why?" You asked.

"Why?"

"Why did you do this to me? Cheat on me. Byakuya.. Am I not pretty enough for you? Rich enough for you? What is it?" Tears rolled down your cheeks.

Byakuya tensed up.

"She was much for refined and mature than you. Much more worthy of being my girlfriend. You still act like you are 12." He rolled his eyes.

"Mature? I can be Mature Byakuya! I just thought you needed some laughs to make you happy! I'm sorry I'm not as mature as her, but is that really all?"

Byakuya shook his head. "I realized I needed someone rich and mature to be with me. Someone that could be known as strong. I need to look good."

You gritted your teeth. "Did you even really love me? What about our promise? The one a year ago?"

Byakuya smiled.

"Oh yes I remember. What a silly childish thing. I just promised so that you would feel comfort. This relationship meant nothing to me. Now get out Y/N. I'm having Kyoko over at 2."

You stomped out of the room.

But what you didn't realize his point of view.

His parents forced him to find someone Mature and Competent or else they would kill his girlfriend. They didn't approve of you so He hesitantly agreed to find someone else. He didn't want to hurt you and say those things, but he wanted to protect you."

He was crying.

Tears fell from his eyes as he immediately pushed them away.

"I'm so sorry Y/N. Forgive me."
