Satchiko sat on Kaiya's bed, her friend next to her, the only sound being the ticking of a nearby clock. Thoughts were swirling in the strawberry-blonde's mind, screaming to get out.

"Kaiya... I'm scared." She finally spoke, her voice quiet and shaking. "Something... something's wrong...."

"Satchiko..." Kaiya breathed out, moving closer to the other girl. "Don't worry, everything will be fine."

Satchiko shook her head. "N-no... no it won't. I don't know what's happening, but everything feels so wrong! Michio's never at school, Momo's ignoring us, Kazuki's oblivious so that isn't helping..." She sniffled, her eyes growing watery before a few tears fell. "I-I'm sorry... I know I'm not helping either...."

"Satchiko." Kaiya said more firmly this time, putting her hands on the other's shoulders, turning her towards her. "I know things aren't great right now, but you're doing your best! Your smile brightens up everyone's day! Please, I don't like seeing you like this... don't lose hope."

Satchiko just stared into Kaiya's eyes for what felt like forever, blue meeting green. A warm feeling was bubbling inside her at her friend's kind words. Kaiya was too nice for her own good.

The lucky student didn't even notice Kaiya leaning towards her until their lips touched. Her blue eyes widened, before fluttering closed. Satchiko instinctively leaned closer, enjoying the moment.

Soon, they separated. The kiss was short and sweet, but the best Satchiko had ever had. She couldn't help but smile. "Thanks, Kaiya... I'll stay hopeful, for you."
