chapter 3

All of a sudden, Mishiga rose up to his feet, still asleep. "Are you pretending to fall asleep this entire time?!" Echo said.

The currently sleep-walking Mishiga seemingly looked at Echo, even though his eyes was closed as he then went on a fighting stance.

One of the Monokumas pounced towards him, but Mishiga reacted faster, dodging it in an instant.

Echo went to help him by kicking a nearby Monokuma away from Mishiga. Even so, they slowly backed away.

"Crap. There's too many of them," she muttered, before Mishiga suddenly carried her, bridal style. This made her blush.

"W-what the-?" She looked up to Mishiga, who was now seemingly awake, as he then ran, and all the Monokumas followed him.

Meanwhile

"Crap! We forgot about Echo and Mishiga! What do we do?!" Riku said, as Lucine tried to calm him down.

They were in the auditorium with the rest, and Lucine was suspected for leaving both Echo and Mishiga.

Back to the duo

Mishiga panted as he wiped off beads of sweat on his forehead, as he sat on a seat in the classroom they searched.

Echo had barricaded the doors so the Monokumas can't come in, or to buy time for their escape. Either way works.

"Say, Mishiga," Echo said to Mishiga, looking at the panting orange haired, having his eyes closed, but was not asleep.

"Go ahead," he said, knowing she wanted to ask a question. "Why do you sleep a lot?" Echo asked, and he took a deep breath.

"So I won't see monsters in my eyes," he replied. "So you're schizophrenic?" Echo asked, and Mishiga nodded.

"When I was a kid, 2 years old to say for the least, I was concluded to have schizophrenia. I was practically having delusions here and there. But when I fall asleep, I felt like I was in peace."

"Even after my parents' death, don't feel sorry for it, by the way, I've moved on, I decided to sleep more, even though the delusions weren't monsters, it was more like spirit girls floating here and there on people," he said.

(Reference to a manga. *cough* Hatsukoi Zombie *cough*)

"Ah. That explains why you're named the Ultimate Sloth. But from what I heard, you still excel in your grades despite sleeping in class," she said.

"I don't know why, but my body has some sort of auto reaction when I'm asleep. Like that one time in middle school, the teacher threw a dictionary at me for sleeping in class. But, based from my classmates, I grabbed the dictionary and threw it and it landed perfectly on the teacher's desk," he said.

"I'm weird, I know," he admits, sighing. "I wanna get some more sleep. Can you wake me up if there's banging at the doors?" Mishiga asked.

"No," Echo said, narrowing her eyes at him. "Okay. I'm sleeping," Mishiga said before he laid himself on the ground and fell asleep.

Echo sighed at this. 'You really are worthy of being the Ultimate Sloth AND Enigma,' she thought.
