Chapter One - FTE 1

Some time passes while I'm still in my apartment. I should probably try to enjoy my time here, I don't know what else to do anyway. Suddenly, I hear someone knocking on my door.

Melissa: Hello?

Fernando: Hey, I was just wondering if you wanted to spend some time together!

Fernando is probably my closest friend here so I might as well do so.

Melissa: Sure!

Fernando: Great.

We head to the supermarket together, to spend some time there.

Fernando: The fact that everything in this supermarket is free already shows that I just can't be behind this!

Melissa: Why not?

Fernando: Well, I definitely would try to earn money out of the products here!

Melissa: But we don't have any money on us I think...

Fernando: Just add a currency, and give people some of that currency once they do work. 1 Koala coin for every meal made in the restaurant.

Melissa: A system like that would definitely cause others to do things too... It's kinda annoying that everyone just keeps leaving a meal there on the table after they're finished, just waiting for someone else to clean it up!

Fernando: Well hopefully that also means people are too lazy to commit murder.

Melissa: Hopefully.

Fernando: Anyway about that Koala coin system, obviously there would be multiple ways to gain them. Washing the dishes could be added too. And perhaps we also need taxes?

Melissa: We would create a whole civilization in Despair Town!

Fernando: Exactly! I would also ask Demos, he would probably have a good insight as Ultimate Philosopher.

Melissa: By the way don't mind me asking but I was looking at my Monopad, and saw you had a pretty specific dislike.

Fernando: I assume you're talking about my ex.

Melissa: Yea-

Fernando: Honestly, I'd be up to talk about it, but my memory is a bit foggy.

Melissa: Oh?

Is he lying out of embarrassment?

Fernando: But she was crazy, that's for sure!

Melissa: Well... okay then. I won't ask more about it.

Fernando: Anyway, about the Koala coins...

Me and Fernando spent the next hour or so talking about a socialist system for Koala coins in Despair Town. After that, I decided to go back to my apartment.

Looking at the time, there is still some time to spend on socializing with others. Who should I spend time with?

Chapter One - FTE 2

After thinking a bit about it, I decide to spend some time with Won. Like usual, he is in the Warehouse.

Won: Hey Melissa!

Melissa: Hey Won.

Won: Did you change your mind on being interviewed for my newest vlog?

Melissa: Sure!

Won: Epic! Hello guys, and welcome to vlog 2023 of...... Jong-Soo Vlogs!!! #Interview

Melissa: Who are you talking to...? You didn't even start the camera yet.

Won: If I just act the way I do in my videos in real life too, it just all goes way more natural!

Melissa: Oh hm, okay.

Won: If my videos aren't very good, then Soahc Gaming will pass me in subscribers!

Melissa: Yea I heard that channel being mentioned before, what is it?

Won: Do you live under a rock? Not having heard of Jong-Soo Vlogs or of Soahc Gaming??? #MelissaIsAHermit

Melissa: I just... Don't really use Youtube often.

Won: Ridiculous! What kinds of hobbies do you have then?

Melissa: I like to draw or learn geography.

Won: Really? #Boring

Melissa: Yea...?

Won: Well good thing the cameras aren't rolling! My viewers would all dislike this!!!

Melissa: Hey... I can be interesting too!

Won: Well then tell a funny story!

Melissa: So I once was...

Won: Already bored! You need to tell it enthusiastically! #Motivational

Melissa: I don't think the Youtube world is meant for me...

Won: A shame. Well, next time we make a vlog I will tell about my own life!

Melissa: Sounds good, and make sure to #LikeAndSubscribe!

After having done an interview with Won, I decide to head back to my apartment. I just read a few books because I don't know what else to do, and night time is about to approach.

Just before 10 PM however, I hear someone knocking on my door. Who could that be? I open the door in my pajamas.

Cody: Hey Melissa!

Netta: I love that pajamas! Where did you buy it???

Melissa: Uh... No idea. What's up?

Cody: Well because this place is kinda boring we are hosting a party tomorrow evening!

Did Cody and Netta forget we are in a KIlling Game or something?

Netta: Fun right??? We got lots of famous people coming over!

Melissa: Let me guess... A vlogger and a musician?

Netta: Yes! Harper will do some of her songs, and Won will record a video LIVE!

Cody: Cool right??? It was my girlfriend's idea!

He kisses Netta next. Are they really... dating? They have known each other for 2 days!

Melissa: Sure, I'll come!

Netta: Great!!! And see you tomorrow at breakfast, Melissa!

Cody: I won't even sleep in to be there too! And I'm also gonna work on being sober!

Melissa: Well, good for you Cody!

Netta: It's all thanks to my good influence! Anyway, good night Melissa!

Melissa: Good night you two.

The two wander off hand in hand, kinda cute I suppose. And I guess ignoring the fact we're in a Killing Game makes some sense, and with a bit of luck nobody will kill... I just have to trust in the others. I lay down on my bed and hear Monoala announce that it's nighttime. Soon after I fall asleep.

Monoala Theater

Monoala: What's the appeal to stories about people murdering one another? True crime is getting more fans than ever, and so are detective novels and games! Would people still be happy if they end up in a situation like that themselves? Or is it more of a 'it makes me glad about myself because it doesn't happen to me?', think about that!

Day Three

Ding dong bing bong!

Monoala: Rise and shine citizens of Despair Town, it is now 7 AM! That means nighttime has now ended!

Huh... what... I was just sleeping so well. Well, time to get out of bed I guess, or people might be worried that I got murdered. I'm also curious to hear other people's stances on the party that Netta and Cody want this evening., so I head to the restaurant.

Cece: Good morning, Melissa.

Harper: Look, I'm one of the only people here already! Are you proud of me!

It seems to be just Cece and Harper here.

Melissa: Very proud.

Cece: By the way, I don't know if you noticed, but Martin hung up a paper next to the entrance of the restaurant, and there you have to write down if you will come to breakfast.

Melissa: Oh... But I didn't sign up!

Harper: I don't think that's a problem, it's mainly to check whether someone that did signup doesn't show up! Because then they might y'know... be murdered...

Melissa: Ah right... Okay that makes sense.

Cece: But let's hope nobody is!

I check the list and see that Fernando, Dale, Won, Eugene, Netta, Joseph and Cody are still supposed to show up.

Melissa: Only 10 people signed up? Alice and Minori are unsurprising, they also didn't want to come yesterday. But Martin, Arianna, Demos and Aozora too now?

Harper: Martin told me that even though he broke his usual schedule for us yesterday, he just wants to do his usual routine today.

Cece: And Aozora didn't want to come due to Eugene being signed up.

Harper: And I guess Arianna and Demos just dislike us.

Melissa: Or they forgot to sign up too, like me.

Cece: That's possible too, but I don't think the two of us really get along with most of us, do they?

Melissa: True...

Dale, Netta and Cody enter the restaurant too now.

Dale: Good morning everybody.

Netta: I don't know why but these beds are so good? This so-called Killing Game is not so bad!

Harper: I have to admit I also slept quite well myself.

Cody: Well, where's the food?

Melissa: We still have to make that.

Cody: Oh.

Cece: The kitchen is next door tho.

Me and Cody head to the kitchen. Something feels... off.

Cody: Well... What should we make? Wait, why is there a kitchen knife missing? That really sharp one!

Melissa: Now you say so... It's missing indeed. You noticed that quickly.

Cody: I have a photographic memory!

Melissa: Oh wow, that's really cool.

Cody: When I'm drunk it works surprisingly bad however.

Melissa: Well I guess that makes sense... Anyway, it's pretty worrying that someone took a knife from here.

Cody: Maybe they just took it to their apartment to make food too? Or as self defense?

Melissa: Well, I guess that's possible. We probably should ask the others however.

Me and Cody end up baking pancakes for everyone, and Fernando, Won and Joseph are in the restaurant too now.

Fernando: I love pancakes!

Dale: Not burgers, but I'm hungry so I'll eat anything.

Cece: And you used the biological eggs, yes?

Melissa: Of course.

Won: Yummy. #Hungry

Joseph: Just what I need during a Killing Game like this! I do wonder why Eugene is not showing up.

Harper: So rude if he ditches on us again, especially after signing up... Poor Aozora didn't sign up due to him!

Cody: Well she's scary anyway!

Netta: Yea... I wish I looked like her, but her personality is terrifying!

Joseph: I feel the same way about Alice!

Fernando: You wish you looked like Alice? Good for you that you come out!

Joseph: What! No! I meant her personality!

Melissa: Is no one else worried about Eugene missing...?

Cece: I think that clown just thinks it's funny to bail on us, personally.

Cody: I agree with Cece on this one. Now, let's enjoy the pancakes we made!

Netta: My boyfriend can cook so well!!!

Melissa: I helped as well!

Netta: Sureeeeee, you probably washed the dishes or something.

Cody: Nah she helped a lot!

Harper: These pancakes are so good!

After we finished our pancakes, I went back to my apartment. I should probably spend some time with someone else, but who?
