Shuichi was at the edge of the gate separating the crowd from the royals with Kaede, her girlfriend, and Rantaro.

He still had no idea why Kokichi gave him the tickets.

Today was the day Kokichi was choosing the girl he was going to marry.

Shuichi sighed.

Why did you think you had a chance?

Kokichi walked up to the stage.

"Thanks for coming to my marriage ceremony!"

Rantaro tapped Shuichi's shoulder, "Hey, when he chooses his bride and kisses her, we should kiss."

"No Amami-kun." Shuichi waved the hand away.

"Now, Kokichi, take this ring and place it on the finger of the one you wish to marry!" The queen commanded, giving Kokichi a golden ring.

Kokichi stared at the thirteen girls in front of him, before walking past all of them.

Huh?

He walked over to Shuichi.

"Heya Shu," Kokichi winked, holding up the ring, "Might be a bit fast-paced, but do you wanna marry me?"

"Kokichi, we meant one of the girls," The king huffed, "Stop joking around."

Kokichi turned to his parents, "Mom. Dad. I'm gay. I've known for a while now."

Silence.

Whelp, the press knew everything now.

"Oh, why didn't you just say so?" The queen asked, "Carry on!"

Kokichi grasped both of Shuichi's hands, "I know you've only known me for a week or so, but in that short amount of time, I've fallen deep."

Shuichi blushed, looking away, "But why me?"

Kokichi smiled, "You're smart and cute. You've never treated me like I was special just because I'm the prince. Did I mention you're adorable yet? Need I go on?"

Shuichi blinked, "I think you're over exaggerating."

Kokichi laughed, "I think I'm under stating everything great about you."

He held up the ring, "So, yes or no?"

Shuichi shifted their hands so both of them were holding hands, "Do you even need to ask?"

Some guards moved part of the crowd so Shuichi could jump over.

Everyone was cheering for the couple, but the loudest people cheering were Kaede and Kirumi.

Kokichi led him up to the stage and placed the ring on his finger, before dipping and kissing Shuichi.

"I've been waiting so long to do that," Kokichi breathlessly giggled as they pulled back.

Everyone was clapping for the new couple.

"Alright, first new law," Kokichi stated, "Gay marriage is legal."

"It wasn't before?"

"Surprisingly."

Shuichi laughed.

Kokichi smiled.

God, I'm so in love.
