I feel like I've been neglecting Class 78.

Makoto was the ultimate lucky student. He got this talent by being drawn by a lottery.

His class was on a field trip, hiking in the woods.

Makoto was near the back with Sayaka and Kyoko. They were walking next to a river.

"So, Makoto," Sayaka started, "You want to help me loosen up my throat before my next concert?" She ended her question with a wink. Kyoko growled.

Makoto tilted his head to the side, "Why do you need me to drink water?"

"Wait, that's not what I mea-"

"HURRY UP, YOU SLOWPOKES!" Aoi shouted, from her girlfriend, Sakura's side.

"Coming!" Makoto shouted, starting to speed up his walking.

Then came the first occurrence of bad luck.

Makoto tripped on a stick on the ground into the river.

"MAKOTO!" Kyoko and Sayaka shouted in unison.

The current threw Makoto's head under the water.

Then came the first occurrence of good luck.

The current slammed into a floating log.

"Naegi?" Kiyotaka asked, seeing Makoto rise out of the water.

"Naegi, holy shit!" Mondo shouted.

"Help!" Makoto shouted, waving one arm in the air. The current almost knocked him back underwater, so he grabbed onto the log again.

Sayaka and Kyoko finally caught up to the log Makoto was floating on. The log floated closer to the shore.

Sayaka held out her hand, "Grab on!"

Makoto reached for her hand.

Then came the second incident of bad luck.

The waves reached Makoto first, throwing him underneath the water.

What's going on? I don't want to die! I don't want to die!

He blacked out.

"Hey! Hey!" A voice screeched, "Wake up!"

Makoto blinked his eyes open. "Huh?"

A dark skinned girl with silver hair and a yellow coat was leaning over him.

"Atua has saved your life!" She shouted.

Makoto sat up, and glanced around. He was by the river, with the girl leaning over him with a paintbrush in her hair.

"Who are you?"

"I am Angie Yonaga, the Super High School Level Artist!" She exclaimed, leaning to the side.

"You're from Hope's Peak?" Makoto asked.

"Mhm!" Angie hummed.

"I'm Makoto Naegi, the ultimate lucky student." Makoto responded.

Angie pointed to the log, "I found you floating on the log, passed out. What happened?"

"I acidentally fell into the river.." Makoto admitted, embrassed.

"We should get you back to Hope's Peak!" Angie mentioned, grabbing and pulling him up, "Follow me!"

"Makoto!" Sayaka called when she saw him, running towards him and giving him a hug.

"Hey, Maizono." Makoto replied, hugging her back.

Angie smiled, then left.

"Naegi, are you okay?" Chihiro walked up and asked, "We all saw you fall into the river."

"I'm fine!" Makoto reassured.

The rest of the day was spent with the rest of his classmates worrying and fussing over Makoto.
