Why Is There A Dead End Every Turn...?

Wyatt stared at Damien in dumbfounded shock. "You did?"

Damien nodded. "If you can get everyone down here, I'll be waiting. I need to go somewhere."

Wyatt stood up. "OK." He ran down the way he came, heading for Griffin's room.

Griffin was sitting on his bed, legs criss-crossed and his hands folded in his lap. "Oh, hello, Wyatt."

"Hi." Wyatt said.

"Was there something you needed from me?"

"Actually, yes. Can you come and meet us at the end of the hall?"

Griffin nodded. "Of course." He stood up and walked out, his back straight and his posture formal.

Wyatt headed out of the room, running down the hall and entering Star's room.

He found a pillow in his face with an unnatural amount of force. Wyatt tripped backwards and fell against the door.

"Please stop, Star!" Harmony pleaded, attempting to stop the detective.

"Hah? No way! Do you know how amazing this is? And why the hell is Wyatt here?"

Harmony looked over to Wyatt. "That's right. Why are you here, anyway?"

Wyatt glanced around the room. "Damien said he found the entrance to the fourth floor."

Star punched the wall behind her and grinned. "Great! Let's go, Harmony!" She left, dragging Harmony with her.

Wyatt headed for the last room, taking a deep breath as he entered Chase's quarters.

"Ew, it's Wyatt!" Chase screamed. "Why are you not here? I don't want to know anything you're saying."

Wyatt ignored Chase and said, "Damien and the others found the entrance to the fourth floor."

"Not interested!"

"Could you come with me and meet up with them?"

"Of course not!" Chase stood up. "Well? Let's stay here!"

Wyatt grinned slightly in amusement and opened the door.

They headed out of Chase's room, going down the hallway until Wyatt saw the small figures of Damien and the group he'd gathered. Wyatt walked over to Damien. "This is everyone."

Damien nodded. "That's good. Let's go."

Damien went up the stairs, ignoring the second floor as he went on to the third floor. He walked past the staircase and entered Chase's room.

They followed pursuit and slowly looked around Chase's special room.

It had an ominous ambience to it, with ouija boards and, indeed, cinnamon scented candles. Wyatt grew sick from the smell.

Damien walked across the room and opened the curtain that covered Chase's walls, revealing a door to a secret passage. He walked inside.

"I knew this was here." Chase muttered.

They walked up a spiralling staircase, until the stairs ended at a pair of fancy double doors.

Damien stopped. "Everyone," he said, pushing the door open, "welcome to the maze."

Wyatt and the others gasped. It was a giant dome, with large, metal walls and what looked suspiciously like lava in various pools of bubbling dangerousness.

No one else was present.

"Where's Crimson, Thane, and Cassie, and Sophie?" Harmony asked.

Damien looked around. "I think they're trying to figure it out right about now."

Star grinned at the lava and bent down, about to plunge her hand in. Harmony shrieked and pulled her back.

Damien motioned to them. "Come on! I have a map of the maze that Crimson, Thane, and I made when we found the exit! If we run into any other people still figuring it out, we can figure it out then!"

Wyatt nodded despite his fears. There seemed to be despair dripping everywhere he looked.

It was then, that there was a piercing shriek of horror that rang throughout the dungeon.

Their small group gasped. Damien began to run. "Hurry! We have to hurry! Oh, God...what happened?"

Wyatt began to run, narrowly avoiding the pools of lava as he tried to follow Damien, who took the twists and u-turns like a pro as he stared at the map.

It wasn't long before the panting group of six arrived at the end of the maze. Damien fell to his knees, gasping for air. "The...door...to exit...is...right there..." he wheezed.

Wyatt looked to his left, spotting Sophie running over. The rest of the group arrived shortly. "What happened!?" Cassie cried. "What's wrong?"

Griffin stood up and smiled. "We don't know either, I'm sorry. On a brighter note, the door is here and we can look right now."

"Right, right, thanks." Sophie pushed the door open and stared for a moment before stepping out, her face masked in horror and despair. "No..."

Wyatt swallowed down the lump in his throat and blinked back tears as he walked forward and dared himself to look inside.

He regretted his choice to walk in.

There, in the final ending room, was the dead body of Crimson lying in a pool of blood.
