I'm Done With All of This...(The Seventh Murder)
Wyatt stiffened in shock.
The gunshot sounded dangerously close.
Sweat ran down his neck as he ran into the hallway. "Where!?"
There was no response.
Wyatt panicked, stumbling down the stairs and crashing into Chase.
Both of them tumbled down in a tangle of limbs.
"My hair! My beautifully styled hair!"
"Get off my arm!"
With difficulty, Wyatt pushed Chase off, groaning. "What the hell, man?"
Chase scowled. "I heard a gunshot from upstairs and thought it was you!"
Wyatt blinked. "Up...stairs?"
He nodded, jumping up the stairs three at a time. "Come on!"
Wyatt ran after him, kicking the door down to the ballroom.
It was as empty as before.
Chase scowled. "What the hell?"
Cassie and Thane ran up behind them. "Did you find the source?"
Both boys shook their head.
Thane pointed outside. "Let's explore there."
The four of them nodded, opening the door to the garden cautiously.
They all looked to the left simultaneously, eyes widening as the line of pink blood came into view, leading up to the cherry tree.
Harmony was hanging from the tree, metal cords wrapped around her wrists and the tree trunk to keep her secure. One hand was holding a piece of white paper, crumpled up in her hand, a corner stained pink.
There were multiple bullet wounds in her chest and stomach, some indented in the tree.
Someone had arranged the cherry petals, all nailed to the tree to form one message above Harmony's corpse.
Final Act
Wyatt dropped to his knees, his stomach threatening to empty.
They stared in shock, not believing the truth.
The truth that Harmony, the sweetest person of all, the Ultimate Healer, had left them as well.
