As soon as we left the building, all hell broke loose.

Standing outside were a group of Monokumas, all charging for us immediately. Tomi and Aimi acted fast, holding out their hacking guns and firing. They both shot out what looked like a blue ball of energy, and both hit their marks on two of the oncoming bears. Both exploded on impact.

"Take Ikeda, I'll see you back at the base." Aimi said to Tomi, and he only nodded. The white haired boy grabbed my hand, quickly leading me away from the crowd.

I was terrified. The bears just kept coming, and though Tomi was quickly knocking them down, I couldn't help but imagine the feeling of those steel claws ripping through my flesh.

We quickly reached a house with a ladder leaning up against the side, and we got to it without too much of a problem. How convenient.

"Go up! I'm right behind you!" Tomi said, letting go of my hand. I didn't hesitate, climbing up the ladder as fast as I could. The weight on my back made it difficult, but I managed, soon reaching the top. It wasn't but a few seconds before Tomi was up with me, and as soon as he arrived he kicked the ladder down behind him.

Tomi laughed a bit, laying back on the roof. "That was fun."

I couldn't help but smile a bit as I slowly shook my head. "I'd rather not do it again."

We sat there for a few minutes before Tomi sat up, looking over the edge of the roof. I followed his gaze, seeing the Monokumas that had gathered bellow.

"They're gonna take a while to leave." Tomi pointed out with a groan. "At least I'm stuck with you and not Aimi."

"What's so bad about Hoshiko-san?" I asked out of curiosity. "She was really nice when I came, but...."

Tomi laughed, "You've finally seen the dark side." He paused for a moment, twirling around a strand of hair. "She's always nice to everyone we rescue, and children, and some other people, but she gets all serious with everyone else and is so bossy. She especially doesn't like Kazuki."

"Why Nozomi-san?" I couldn't help but ask, "He's so nice...."

Tomi shrugged. "Dunno. I heard they used to date before he got all famous and stuff."

"Huh, weird..." I muttered.

"I'm getting bored, can we blow em up?" Tomi asked way too casually, pulling out what looked like a grenade from his pocket.

Already I knew better than to question this guy, but I was still shocked at the sudden appearance of a bomb.

I thought for a moment, before letting out a small sigh. "Normally, I'm against violence, but since they're evil robots and not people... screw it. Go ahead."

Tomi looked surprised for a moment, before a grin formed on his face. "I like you Kira. You're my kinda girl." He pulled the pin out of the grenade with his teeth before tossing it over the edge. He didn't have to tell me to cover my ears.

The explosion came fast, and the building held up. Once my ears stopped ringing, I looked over the side of the roof to see robot parts scattered everywhere.

I stared at the scene before me in silence for a few moments, when a smile formed on my face. "That was awesome...."
