Traitor
Turns out the infirmary was the only room in the new area, but I wasn't disappointed. The medical supplies could be useful, assuming they were safe. Another day had passed, and though everyone was still upset over Willow and Mitsuo, it had calmed down. Mai hadn't left her room since though, and everyone was worried about her.
I was currently sitting in the library, Aimi and Kazuki there with me. The two of them talked in hushed voices while I sat in a chair across the room, trying to focus on a book. My attention kept diverting to their conversation, however, and I couldn't help but pick up some bits and pieces. Something about getting out of here, mentions of Michio, and a lot of uncertainty.
"Well we'll talk to the others." Kazuki said to Aimi, not bothering to whisper anymore as he leaned back in his chair. "It's gonna effect everyone, right? So we should all talk together."
Aimi sighed. "I guess. But don't talk too loudly about this, she might hear you."
"I already heard everything!" Chou exclaimed from the speakers. "But I really don't care, plan out your attacks on Michio all you want, I'm not working with him. The bitch rejected my partnership."
"I don't blame him..." Kazuki muttered just loud enough for me to hear.
"I'd even help you take down Michio, if I didn't want that satisfaction to myself. I guess he's like my rival after all." Chou stated. "Oh, by the way, I want everyone to come to the main room! Hurry your butts up, I have some extra motivation! Kinda."
Aimi glared at the camera in the corner. "You think starvation, death threats, and a selfish reward aren't enough motivation already?!"
"They are, but I wanna cause some drama! So just come!" Chou exclaimed.
"Just do as she said..." I sighed, closing my book and putting it down before I got up. I walked right out of the room, and soon Kazuki and Aimi followed as I walked to the main room. Once there I took a seat at one of the couches beside Nise, and waited for the others to arrive.
It wasn't long before everyone was there, all but one. Mai still hadn't appeared.
After a few minutes of waiting, to everyone's surprise, Chou walked into the room, dragging Mai behind her. The poor girl still looked broken, her usual optimistic expression replaced with a blank one.
"Well that was quite a disturbance. This one was trying kill herself right after I called a meeting! Rude much?" Chou frowned, releasing Mai who didn't bother moving.
"Coming in person was kinda stupid, Chou." Aimi stated, glaring at the platinum blonde. "You know we could all jump you now, and you couldn't do a thing. There's ten of us and one of you."
"You suggesting that was even more stupid." Chou replied with a small smirk, lifting her skirt up to reveal a gun holster with a revolver tucked inside. Lifting her skirt also happened to reveal her underwear, and so I quickly looked away while feeling my face grow warm. "Doesn't matter if there's one of you or ten, I can still shoot."
"Spooky." Tomi commented. "White panties though, huh, I didn't think you'd be the type for that."
"I'm full of surprises." To my relief, Chou let go of her skirt. "Now, let's get to the announcement! It's pretty simple. There's a traitor hiding among you~ someone working with me! But I won't say who it is."
"A traitor? Well, I suspected that." Toki let out a small sigh.
"Okay, now you can go on and suspect each other. Have fun." Chou said before pulling what looked like a remote out of her jacket pocket. She pressed a button, and to my confusion the door to the trial room opened up.
"See ya~! We'll chat later, Akira-chan." Chou winked at me before entering the staircase. The entrance closed behind her.
"What was that about?" Aimi asked me accusingly.
"Um... n-nothing, really... we just..." I awkwardly paused for a moment. "We just talk sometimes, I guess..."
"You're befriending the enemy?" Aimi narrowed her violet eyes, stepping closer. "Don't you care that she's a murderer?"
Kazuki stepped between us. "That's enough. Aimi, I'm sure there's a reason for this, but I think Chou's putting Ikeda on the spot on purpose. You're just reacting like she wants."
Aimi turned her anger away from me, and instead directed it at Kazuki. "Oh, of course, because the great Kazuki just knows everything!" She replied sarcastically. "I know you're just defending her because you have a thing for Zetami too. I guess it's just a thing for kids with untameable brown hair to fall for the freaks."
"I do not have a thing for Michio. He doesn't deserve my pity, let alone affection." Kazuki crossed his arms.
"I-I'm gonna go..." Nise muttered.
"Me too..." Itsuki stated, and the two quickly left the room together.
Satchiko approached Kazuki and Aimi, and promptly flicked them both on their foreheads. "If you two will stop acting like children, we can actually talk about what we've been trying to talk about since before this all happened."
"Yeah... right, sorry Satchiko." Kazuki said, rubbing his forehead.
Katashi had a very proud expression, and I assumed that was because Satchiko was just acting confident for once, with no stutter. I thought I saw him tearing up a bit as well.
Toki stepped forward, looking around at us. "Now, let's get started.
