The Tragedy

-Willow-

The former ultimate snake breeder felt a familiar sense of fear as she sat in her room, alone. The fear of losing everything, the fear of being left on her own, without her.

Suddenly, Willow's vision started fading, splotches of black blocking her hazel eyes, until fading into a horrific scene.

Blood. So much blood. Immense throbbing pain, the sound of screaming victims as their lives were taken. There she was, overlooking everything, standing witness to these crimes. Terror chilled her to the bone.

A hand rested on Willow's shoulder. "Why don't you join them~?"

Willow stayed quiet, not looking at the person beside her, as she couldn't take her eyes off the scarring acts taking place. The other girl gave her a small shove.

"I thought I did better than this. Or maybe this just isn't your kinda despair?" A sigh. "You're a tough one, aren't you?"

Willow still said nothing, but managed to tear her attention away from the gore. Just as she was about to meet the other girl's eyes, her door opened.

The dusty brunette was pulled back to reality. She was now laying on her bed instead of sitting, so she knew it was definitely a resurfacing memory. She had passed out.

"Willow, you okay?" Willow sat up and turned to meet the brown eyes of her girlfriend. Mai walked into the room, closing the door behind her before joining Willow on the bed. "You remembered something, right?"

Willow nodded, staring down at her lap. "Yes... you don't need to worry about that, though... I'm okay..." She spoke in her usual quiet voice. A moment of silence between them passed, before the American girl spoke again. "Do you remember... the tragedy?"

"Nope, not yet at least." Mai replied, tilting her head. "Do you?"

Willow only nodded. "It's good you don't remember... don't remember..."

"It sounds really terrible, and if it destroyed the whole world, I don't wanna remember it..." Mai replied, her expression changing to one more nervous. "You really remember that?"

Instead of answering, Willow just looked the former soccer player in the eyes. "Don't remember it... you're too innocent, the fact you even had to go through that..." she paused. "No, the fact you were made to forget and were put in that... that awful game... that can't be forgiven..."

"Hey, Willow, don't worry about that anymore! We both lived, that's what matters." Mai stated with a reassuring smile. "I'm so glad we both lived..."

Willow gave a small nod, shuffling closer until she could wrap her arms around Mai. "Yeah... I'm glad too. But we aren't safe... I'm gonna protect you, no matter what the cost."

Mai hugged her back, burying her face in her girlfriend's shoulder. "Don't talk like that, we survived one killing game already, haven't we? We'll get out of this one too for sure."

"Yes... we will." Willow muttered, holding Mai close to her. "I'll make sure of it."
