5.4: Fearmonger
Caleb woke up bright and early the next morning, putting on his leg brace for the last time in this school. He grabbed the Redeemer off the wall, making sure the bayonet was sharp, the chain well oiled, and the two plates securely fastened to the gun. Exiting his room, he saw everyone else with their weapon.
682 had what Caleb assumed was Rosie’s weapon, with a 1912 Winchester shotgun and a large trunk, most likely containing those mysterious puppets Caleb had only heard of in whispers.
Rodney didn't have a weapon, so he instead grabbed as many knives from the kitchen, and he also heard them clattering together in the doctor’s long white lab coat.
Kazan, of course, had his own Kanabo and Katana, but also had the Katana that Rin used to wield before him, with obvious intent to harm the mastermind with both to ensure the whole Yamaoka family got their revenge.
And last but not least, was Hat Kid. She had her umbrella, with the yellow stars seeming to shine ever brighter on the cyan background. But she also had a standard wooden baseball bat with strange stickers all over it, seemingly from her time in the Nakuza, as she had put it.
All decided to shoot the sh*t to pass the time. They reminisced on old times with the students who had been killed or executed, both were victims of this horrible killing game. Kazan spoke highly of Rin, and how unfortunate that her life was taken from her not once, but twice.
Finally, that 7 in the afternoon time struck, and everyone got on the elevator. Sending it to the basement, Caleb’s heart seemed to skip several beats as his nerves seemed to fry at the dread of confronting the mastermind.
He felt a large hand on his shoulder. Kazan. He gently pat his shoulder, reassuring him that it was gonna be okay. Caleb sighed deeply, hoping against hope that the mastermind would be at least human.
The elevator descended deeper and deeper into the building with the final survivors within, ready to confront the mastermind.
The elevator finally arrived, and Caleb and the remaining survivors got out. The trial room was inhumanly quiet. It was quiet...before Caleb heard a familiar sound. The whispers. He knew what this meant, and given how he felt Kazan flinch, he knew Kazan knew too.
Sure enough, from the ceiling, descended spider-like limbs, but they were holding something. When they reached the floor, they let something go. There was what looked like a young 20-ish years old woman, with gray skin, glowing orange eyes, 4 large spider-like limbs emerging from her back, with large flowers in her hair and glowing orange stripes adorning her body.
Caleb knew without a single doubt who she was.
She was The Entity, the Ultimate Eldritch Being.
“Miss me, boys?~” She asked in a teasing voice, looking at Kazan and Caleb. Caleb snarled, his grip tightening on the Redeemer so much his knuckles turned white.
“No we feckin’ didn't, ye a*sehole!” He retorted. “You made me lose my memory, you glorified hag!”
“Hey now,” She replied, still in her teasing and condescending tone. “I don't think my name is Lisa Sherwood, is it?” She asked.
“You do not get to speak the witch’s name!” Kazan roared. “She was suffering serving you. I was suffering serving you. Caleb was suffering serving you. We all were suffering, serving you!”
“Easy there Oni,” She replied, carefully choosing her words to purposely make him even more angry. “Some of you killers came to me by personal choice! Myers, Elliot, Talbot, and even some killers before you all!”
[That doesn't excuse the fact you worked them like slaves and tortured them!] 682 rebutted. [I know how you treated the survivors too, so don't get at me about them.]
“A girl’s gotta eat, lizard,” She replied. “I think every being has a right to a meal, do they not?”
“Not like the way you’re going about it, missy!” Hat Kid snarled. “You can eat other emotions besides bloodlust, hope, despair, and misery!”
“But those ones fill me up the best, kid.” She retorted. “And I've also tried eating other emotions, and trust me, it doesn't work.”
“That still doesn't give you an excuse to hurt people, lady!” Rodney retorted. “I know all about you eldritch beings, thinking you're above humans. Here's the thing, you're not. I know this from experience. And you wanna know what I think about what you should do? F*CK OFF, SPIDER FACE.”
The Entity sighed. “This is taking too long. It's about time I do what I finally want to do.” She reached up her right hand, and suddenly, spider-like limbs burst forth from the ground around Caleb, wrapping around his limbs.
They dug into his skin, forcing him to aim his gun at Hat Kid as the whispers grew unnaturally loud. Caleb was in writhing agony, but he wasn't about to shoot a damn kid.
So as soon as he felt The Entity was about to make him pull the trigger, he forced himself to face The Entity instead, and closed his eyes.
BANG. He heard three main things. A loud explosion, The Entity screaming, and the sound of the Redeemer’s spearhead digging into the wall. He felt the Entity letting go, and the whispers quiet down into silence.
What had happened? Caleb opened his eyes, and saw what had happened. Yes, he whiffed the Redeemer shot by about 2 feet…But someone else didn't miss their shot.
There, Elliot stood upon the rubble of the demolished right wall of the trial room, with several other faces behind him. The Scarlet King, Holly, ShadowMoth, Tavish DeGroot, Dell Conagher, The 7 brides, some other miscellaneous Cenobites, HUX-A7-13, and so many more unfamiliar faces.
Elliot had this look of utter contempt and hatred on his face as he snarled to the Entity, having her hooked on several of his infamous chains.
“I won't let you do that.” Was all he said, before looking at the others, digging in the chains harder as he did. “Get her.” With that statement, he released her, dropping her to the ground.
Hat Kid was the first one who got to The Entity, beating her over the head with both her umbrella and bat, making sure to swap between the two so neither of them broke from her accidentally hitting too hard.
Rodney was next, stabbing her with so many knives, leaving her orange blood to seep all over the floor, and he made sure to leave the larger ones in so she wouldn't bleed to death and ruin the fun for everyone else.
682 made it up next, and he showed no mercy to the one responsible for the death of his sister. He reached onto her back and wrenched all 4 of her spider-like limbs off, causing him to smirk sadistically.
Kazan was second to last, grabbing Rin’s Katana and stabbing her through one hand with it, then taking his own and using that to stab through her other hand. He took his Kanabo and brought it down onto her chest, breaking her rib cage.
Caleb was last, and oh boy, he was glad to go last. Walking over to her at a leisurely pace, he put the Redeemer to her chest and pulled the trigger, causing the spear to go flying through her chest and hit the concrete floor below. Exactly what Caleb wanted.
He grabbed the remaining chain and wrapped it around her neck, giving a sadistic smirk when he heard her choke. He leaned in to say one final thing to her.
“Before you die....just know...there's a friend of mine who will be waiting for you in hell.” He whispered, before pulling on the Redeemer as hard as he could, before pulling her entire breast plate and heart out. Just to make sure no funny business happened, he reeled in the chain of the The Redeemer, walked over to her heart, and crushed it underneath his boot with a satisfying SPLAT.
The room was then silent. What was to be said now? What was to be done now, besides get out of here?
682 was the first to break the silence by breaking into sobs and hugging his other sister, Holly, tight, and the poor girl was trying so hard to calm her down.
Caleb wiped his boot off, before making his way to Elliot. He nodded at the man, before speaking.
“Thank you for coming to save us, Elliot. I'm glad you orchestrated this whole thing to come and save us, especially me.”
Elliot simply shook his head. “I was just following the plan she made.” And he pointed to Holly, still being effectively smooshed against her older brother’s chest as he cried into her shoulder.
“Oh…once the lizard gets done with her, tell her I said thanks.” Caleb spoke. “I just wanna get the feck out of here.”
Elliot nodded. “I agree, I want to leave this place soon. Don't worry, I will make sure we leave at the soonest possible time.”
Caleb smiled, happy to know he was finally free. He could leave. He could go outside.
He was finally free of the killing game.
