Side: Future 5: Dreams Of Distant Days

So, since I'm late, I won't be giving many predictions on the episode 5 chapters. But, I feel like there is a lot of stuff to talk about specifically in these two episodes. Let's begin.

We start off with a flashback of adorable kiddy Seiko, Ruruka, and Sonosuke in the rain, observing how Seiko first became friends with the two.

Then we skip forward a little bit to show why Seiko couldn't eat the sweets. She can't have sugar. That's one question answered.

Can we just talk about this!? This is one of the best things about the Future Arc right now!

Sonosuke is hands down on of my favorite of the Future Foundation characters! Not my favorite, but high up there.

And we finally got to see him be a blacksmith! Took you long enough, Suke.

He's got his hood on! Also, I seriously feel like this is important. Everyone keeps saying that "He's just in it for the sweets." If he was, why'd he say it's also for love? Any rebuttals there?

Title is self explanatory. Class 76 dreaming of their days as friends.

And then we get a big Kazuo moment here in this exchange between him and Kyosuke.

Kazuo seems to really understand what Kyosuke needs to do, calling him naive, saying that he sacrificed Chisa, he really seems to have it all together.

And simultaneous battle of Sonosuke and Seiko with Juzo and Hina. That's... something.

Seriously, Kodaka? That's pretty weird for a forbidden action.

And Yasuhiro's still okay. Great! He better not die.

Uh, yeah. Inside is what will keep you safe, Hiro. Not like a housekeeper, a farmer, and a wrestler already died or something.

What the fuck is behind that door!? The outside? A secret room? Monaca's control center? WHAT COULD IT MEAN!?

Why does Ruruka want Kyosuke dead? They think it will end the game. Where have we heard THAT before, hmm? Kyosuke himself in the last episode. Coincidence? Maybe, but there's something deeper there.

I think Ruruka forgot that you can break lights...

This I think is a really important moment for both of these characters. Ruruka didn't want to betray Seiko, so she kept asking for stuff, and since Seiko trusted Ruruka, she kept giving her stuff.

This might sound dickish, but think back to the last episode. Remember how happy Seiko was when Nagito said the laxatives worked? Another reason for Seiko to keep giving Ruruka the drugs is for her to feel proud or happy that they work. That's probably another reason why Ruruka kept asking for drugs! So that Seiko could know that her drugs were working!

Based on Seiko's shy self, do you think she'd feel comfortable giving drugs to the other kids? I mean, at Hope's Peak she knew that other kids were people just like her, who had talents that they cared about, but do you think the other kids at her previous schools would approach her, especially since she wore that mask? I would've LOVED being friends with her, but I'm sure the assholes at my school would've talked shit about this precious cinnamon roll.

I don't blame Ruruka for this OR Seiko. Nobody really is to blame, but all three members of Class 76 are kinda at fault here. Ruruka kept asking for drugs, never giving anything and obsessing over her sweets. Seiko was too trusting of Ruruka and never stood up for herself. Sonosuke really didn't do anything, but that's a bit of a crime in itself. I mean, he doesn't seem like the type to say "We're your friends, Seiko" or "We really do care about you" since he cares only about Ruruka, but I feel like he could've said something like "Ruruka, are you sure that taking all these drugs is a good idea? This might be a problem if you become too dependent on them" or "Maybe you should make sure Seiko knows that you are her friend", you know, something that shows concern for Ruruka's treatment of Seiko.

Why does Seiko get a bit aggressive towards Hina? Is it the scratches on her arm? There needs to be some kind of explanation for this. Seiko's actions have been kinda weird.

So, does Monaca want to destroy the Future Foundation or be entertained by Makoto or someone? Monaca is gonna play a very important part here, of course, but we need to know what her EXACT motives are.

Kyoko is figuring shit out! Yeah! She better start telling us what she is finding out, though, and I mean BEFORE the very end.

Can you imagine if this ends like a horror movie? Like, only Makoto and Kyoko survive, and then she tells him her findings, which makes Makoto realize who the true mastermind is, only for them to escape? That would suck! 0/10 ending, needs more Yasuhiro and Hina!

God dammit Kodaka! Why!? Well, at least we know it's a long name, so it's not Gozu. Unless Gozu secretly has a longer name than he's letting on.

Anyone here a fan of Fairy Tail? You remember the filler arc in the anime where Levy had to say who she liked and they cut out the audio so we all had to assume? This is just like that, but in Levy's case, we all had a pretty good idea of who she said, while for Tengan, we have almost NO idea. My best guess it either "Gek-ko-ga-ha-ra Mi-ay-a".  At least at this point in time.

So, this confirms that Kyosuke knows who the attacker is now. Or, OR! What if it isn't the attacker and Kazuo didn't lie because he THOUGHT that person was the attacker? Think about this for a second. What if Kazuo said "everyone in this building right now is human"? Miayandroid's presence would kill him because of his bracelet, unless him not knowing that she is a robot counts. We need to know this, it's important. Does being uninformed count as a lie?

Imagine these forbidden actions being set to the DR 1 characters. Celeste can't lie, Hina can't run in the halls, Mondo can't punch anybody. It'd be pure chaos.

Kyosuke has a fucking plan. This is either great or terrifying.

Now, I'm seeing a bit of symbolism here. Monokuma has two sides, the white hopeful right side and the black despairful left side. Which eye did Kyosuke lose? He's losing his hope, falling towards despair because of losing Chisa, because of the game, because of Future Foundation falling. His character is so deep and I'm very intrigued by it.

What the fuck is Cure W supposed to do? Cure Seiko's hulk disease?

Imagine how super fucked up it would be if Cure W cures Seiko's thing that prevents her from eating sugar and she's had that the whole time! That would have been the biggest middle finger to Ruruka EVER!

One thing I"M curious about is "What if Seiko is lying about not being able to have sugar?" That would be even MORE fucked up! She'd have been lying to Ruruka this whole time, and Ruruka did nothing wrong. Just a thought.

And now she's dead. FUCK YOU KODAKA!

Now, she's hung on the wall, you can see the monitor in the top right.

So, is that water coming down from the ceiling? Why?

And that Monokuma knife again. Geez.

And now Yu Narukami has turned into Kaneki Ken. Fabulous.

I'll speak a lot more about Kyosuke's little ending scene here in the next Info Dump, because there's some things that I want to point out.

Death flag much, Kyosuke?

He's either going to die before he can kill the attacker, or it's gonna take him forever to find them. Or maybe someone will shove him in a broom closet and he can't open the door to get out or he'll die.

So, this episode was a roller coaster of emotions. Classic DR, right?

After this episode, I was very curious about Kyosuke and interested in what his plan is. I'll be keeping a close eye on his actions in the future. Those puns were unintentional, but very fitting.

Keep an EYE on him? In the FUTURE? Well, it'd be pretty hard to keep an eye on his in Despair, because he's building the overseas branch and Chisa is the one investigating stuff.

Anyway, let's just end this chapter. I might not be able to post another one until tomorrow, but I'll try my hardest to catch up! God, this must be what NicoB feels about his DR3 videos...

So, this is Emerald-kun, signing out! Peace!
