Side: Despair 11: Goodbye, Hope's Peak High School
Why is Mukuro the picture? Cause I haven't used her yet, and this is the last time I'll be to use her. Plus, she had a bit more screen time than most.
Well, I actually thought this was the perfect ending to this arc.
I mean, the arc was full of plot holes and missing important things and WE ONLY SAW YASUKE ONCE WITH NO DIALOGUE!
But, I still loved this ending. Let's go over it.
Juzo fulfills his end of the deal to fuck up the world by telling Kyosuke that Junko is innocent. Fuck you, Junko.
Angry Juzo is angry.
Juzo also pulled a Peko by punching the wall until his knuckles bleed.
It's so sad knowing that throughout the Tragedy, Kyosuke thought Chisa was fine. I feel bad for him.
Why did the despair eyes change from being darkened in the games to being swirls in the anime?
I kind of panicked when I saw Junko wearing her clothes from DR0, but that nothing to do with the episode. Unless it was supposed to mean that yes, indeed, DR0 has passed and we didn't get to see it and Yasuke is fucking dead before he gets ANY fucking impact in this anime.
Okay, this is actually really unsettling to see Chisa and Class 77 act normal while despair. There's just that really creepy feeling, knowing that they aren't right...
I have mixed feelings about this... On one hand, there's a hot and bothered Mukuro that I like. On the other hand, what's making her hot and bothered I DO NOT approve of.
Chisa's letter also really breaks my heart. Even more so since she reads it during images of despair everywhere.
And now comes the despair. Well, at least there's SDR2 music. The Chapter 5 investigation music.
Okay, Akane's boobs should not look like that. Seriously, no way that shirt is covering her nipples.
I like how Teruteru suddenly just got snacks all over his desk.
And yet you chose to become Byakuya Togami.
And Nekomaru finally got his despair red lightning. I'm sad seeing him like this, but at least that explains why it's in Future Arc.
Anyone else think the switch Chisa used looks just the one Machi used in Turnabout Serenade?
Well, that's one plot hole patched.
Izuru is literally the guy who can do everything that did nothing. I'm pretty sure Yasuhiro did more than him.
Shut up, Junko. Stop trying to be all lovey dovey with Izuru. You had a fucking badass motherfucker as a boyfriend and you KILLED HIM DEAD!
You ready for dis bear?
This little scene between Jin, Kazuo, and Koichi is pretty interesting. It's like the guys in charge plus some random guy that's awesome with a cool hat.
If Kazuo is the traitor, then does that mean he planned all this out from way back here?
"And we will allow those two kids that I had no say in when they came to this school. Clearly they are not suspicious and totally normal and fine. Plus, I'll keep all that memory erasing equipment, in case we want to fuck around. I'm sure nothing bad like me flying up to space will happen."
Personally, I quite like the idea that maybe if Jin survived, he'd have been a super kickass Branch Leader. Imagine Jin vs. Kyosuke.
I remember Trigger Happy Havoc, too!
I love how we got this quick glance of these guys alive again.
Sakura can turn bolts with her fucking hands.
Waaaaaaait a minute, how the fuck could she not unscrew them in DR1? Or use their toolkits to unscrew them? Like, what the hell?
Okay, that adorable.
Celeste is just sipping fucking TEA while the others work. My god.
So... Nobody saw Junko throw that wrench at him? Not even Taka? Shouldn't Taka be more of a foreman, making sure everyone is working hard and not slacking off?
I remember when we all thought Sayaka was gonna be main girl.
I like Sayaka. I'm also still surprised that she's not flat chested. I thought that for the longest time, because her ribbon covered her chest. Though, she's actually pretty busty. Leon approves.
Yes, Makoto's luck is different than Nagito's. Nagito's luck was enough to cause NicoB to create a fucking Danganronpa fandom wide meme.
Mukuro fucking hesitated about killing Makoto. We all know why, and I really like that detail. Even though I don't ship it.
Does this count as Komamiki? I'm counting it as Komamiki.
Question: Kyosuke finds Chisa in the classroom, so he's assuming that Class 77 died in that room, while Chisa miraculously survived. Why is he not questioning the lack of bodies? I know some might be hard to see in the fire, but Nekomaru is large enough to leave a noticeable impression.
It would've been really good and symbolic if they didn't play the ending, because all the pictures used were burned.
Well, that's interesting. I wonder what symbolism it is that Junko is in the execution art style. Is it because she chose to let Makoto live which caused her inevitable death?
Oh fuck yeah. FUCK YEAH! FUCK YEAHSJCKDJXKCJSKSJM *dies*
Sorry, I just love SDR2.
Though, this is probably the closest we'll get to an anime of it.
Why does a Chiaki say "desu" after her first three sentences?
Ah, my good old Hinanami is back. Back before DR3 caused a bump in the road, but I came out of it shipping them still.
And Hajime! Gold old Hajime! Love the guy.
Who's ready for 12 more fucking episodes? Just kidding.
I think this is what we're getting instead of Despair 12, which will end of the Hope's Peak Arc. I'm excited! I hope it will be more Future than Despair!
I also kind of wish it was a bunch of episodes instead of one. That way it could be like the 'Corpse Party: Book of Shadows' type thing, where its all a bunch of stuff we didn't get to know. Like, one episode about Daisaku's past, one about Gozu's past, one about the student council, one about that PE teacher that died in the flashback of Future 8, one about what happened on Jabberwock Island before they left, one about seeing more about Hajime, Sato, and Natsumi's time in the Reserve Course, one that's basically the anime version of Danganronpa 0, and one to end off the whole Hope's Peak Arc. Doesn't that sound cool?
Actually, speaking of that PE teacher, for those of you who haven't, go check out my Randomness book, the chapter titled "PE Teacher's Name Voting". The more votes/input, the closer I'll be to starting that Koichi fan fiction!
And so ends the Despair Arc. There were despair times, there were hopeful times, there were fanservice times, there were plot hole times, and there were times in between. It was fun. A bit poor story wise for the Danganronpa "missing link" as some would consider. But, overall, I think it was okay.
So, see you tomorrow where we finally see if Tengan really IS the traitor or mastermind, or if Kodaka is gonna bullshit his way out of making a dead grandpa the bad guy!
This is Emerald-kun, signing out! Peace!
