Mia and I stood there dumbfounded.

Mia dashed towards the pool but Mononeko stopped her.

Mononeko: Wait!

Sora: Huh? Why?

Mononeko: The water in the pool is infused with electricity. One dive in there and you'll be fried instantly!

Mia: But Eve... she's... she's...

As Mia was freaking out, Strawberry was beginning to wake up.

Strawberry: Ugh my head... morning already? Huh? Sora? Mia? What are... you... two...

She looked in the water and her face went pale.

Mononeko: A body discovery announcement... meaning Eve really is...

Before Mononeko could finish, Kotone was the first to find us.

Kotone: I got here as fast as I could! What happened?!

Sora: It's Eve. She's in the water but we can't get to her because of the electricity.

After hearing this, Kotone nodded. She pulled out what looked like a gun and aimed it at her head.

Kotone: Cybele!

She pulled the trigger and summoned what looked like a blue demon lady. The demon dived into the water and picked Eve up before bringing her to the surface and lying her down gently. The demon disappeared soon after and everyone else finally came.

Frostwing: What happened?!

Artoria: Is... that...?

Angel: Eve!

Angel and Mia quickly went to check on Eve.

Prix: Looks like our first victim was the easiest target.

Alicia: Dammit, why her? She's-

Monokuma: A corpse! A rotting, unbreathing corpse! Hm? What do you mean unbreathing isn't a word?

Artoria: Monokuma, what are you doing here?

Mia: You mean, you know who killed my sister?!

Kanzen: Of course. This killing game wouldn't function properly if the host didn't know the killer.

Mia: Shut up! How do we know it wasn't you or Monokuma?!

Kanzen: If you think it's me, then you can go ahead and vote on me in the Class Trial. I wouldn't care regardless~

Artoria: Enough! Everyone!

Artoria quickly got everyone's attention.

Artoria: I get it. We're all sad and grieving. But we need to keep a steady mind. At least for now. All of our lives are at stake, so let's get together and find the culprit. Let's not let Eve's death be in vain.

Kotone: You're right... y-yeah... you're right...

Mia: ... Fine...

Chris: It might be harder said than done though. I mean, very few of us have experience with dead bodies right?

Angel then raises her hand.

Angel: Um... at times like these, maybe we should have someone guard the body?

Sora: Guard the body?

Angel: I mean, I don't want to suspect anyone but... if one of us is the culprit, then that person would be able to destroy as much evidence as he wants right? Someone should guard the body to make sure that doesn't happen.

Seiketsu: Well what do you know? The little girl read my mind.

We all looked up to see Seiketsu walking up to us.

Sora: Seiketsu? You're actually helping us right?

Seiketsu: Didn't you read the rules? Investigation is a mandatory thing. I don't have much of a choice. Anyway, we should have Satoka guard the body.

Satoka: Hm? Sure.

Artoria: Why him?

Seiketsu: I won't rule out the possibility of him being the culprit, but I've known him long enough to know he's not exactly bright enough to pull off any complex murders.

Frostwing: Still, we should have someone else join him just in case.

Kotone: I'll do it. Just in case, you know?

Artoria: Then the rest of us should split up and search for clues.

With those words, we all went on to investigate. Mononeko came up to me.

Mononeko: Hey um Sora?

Sora: Hm?

Mononeko: Can I help you with the investigation? I honestly want to find the killer too...

Sora: I... well as long as you're not in the way I guess.

Mononeko nods.

I've never done anything like this before, so it's clear I need all the help I could get.

The first thing I did was look at the Monokuma File.

The victims name is Eve Mioda. The time of death is 11pm and cause of death was shock. The victim has a minor neck injury neck as well as severe burns both inside and outside her body with her internal organs being severely damaged.

I took a good look at the file. Processing the information. It was short but held a lot more questions than answers.

I went to take a look at the body.

The first thing I noticed was the handcuffs on her arms and tape around her mouth. Actually, there was tape all over her body.

Was this really necessary?

I go to touch the body. It was cold... ice cold. I removed the tape from her mouth and found a small, broken glass container.

Kotone: Wait... isn't that...?

Sora: Hm? Does this look familiar Kotone?

Kotone: Well, when I summoned Cybele to grab Eve, she found a bunch of those taped to her body. And she found this one behind her neck.

Kotone pulled out a glass container. This one was completely shattered compared to the other one.

Kotone: All the other ones were shattered, but this one was the only one shattered in this state. What could it mean?

Sora: No clue. I may need to investigate further.

Sora: It's not much, but I believe that's all I can gather for the body. Better investigate elsewhere.

I look up at Satoka.

Sora: Something bothering you? You look distressed.

Satoka: Well sorta. I can barely remember what happened last night.

Sora: That's because you were drunk.

Satoka: Still there was something that bothered me. I remember Strawberry sending me to my room, but I also remember this strange chill. Like a quick breeze for like 10 seconds or something.

Sora: Do you remember when this happened?

Satoka: It was after Strawberry brought me to my room so probably around 9:50? Right before the Nighttime Announcement.

Kotone: Knowing you, it was probably nothing.

She's not wrong. Still, I should probably keep it in mind just in case.

After talking with them, I went to investigate the pool. Though it looks like Chris was doing just that.

Chris: Oh, Sora.

Sora: Investigating the pool?

Chris: It's no doubt that the combination of water and electricity is what killed Eve.

Sora: Yeah. Considering Kotone and Satoka are the only ones here who can generate electricity naturally. Kanzen can probably do that too, but we haven't seen the full extent of his powers.

Chris: Well what if the culprit didn't need to generate electricity naturally?

Sora: Hm?

Chris: Take a look at this.

He points down and I notice a massive chunk of the side of the pool has gone missing.

Sora: Huh?

Chris: Quite interesting isn't it? Almost as if someone fell from high up. But that's not the only thing.

He leans down and points to what seems to be some sort of yellow powder.

Sora: What... is that?

Chris: Not sure myself, but it appears to have some electric properties.

Mononeko: Now that I think about it... I am detecting a lot of that stuff in the water. It's probably what's keeping the electricity in the pool going.

Sora: But doesn't that break your non-littering rule?

Mononeko: All rules are voided if done with the intent of murder. Otherwise this would be a major rule violation.

Chris: Interesting... very interesting indeed... Still I do want to make something clear.

Sora: What is it?

Chris: There are two suspects to this case. Strawberry, for being at the crime scene, and Alicia for conveniently holding a party right before a murder. However, I want you to know beforehand that I took a drunk Alicia to her room personally, so she has an alibi.

Sora: So you're saying it could only be Strawberry?

Chris: Not necessarily... she's an obvious candidate but too obvious. It's like the culprit didn't even try. Or maybe... there was a sudden change in plans?

Sora: Change in plans?

Chris: ... For now, you should head to the old building. Maybe you'll discover a clue there.

After investigating the pool, Neko and I headed into the old building to see if we could find anymore clues. Once inside, we found Angel, Pix, and Alicia.

Sora: Oh, this is an unexpected pairing.

Alicia: It was kinda a coincidence. I came here to investigate and bumped into these two.

Prix: Angel wanted to help investigate, so we came here to see if there were any clues on the killer.

Sora: And did you find anything?

Angel: Sort of... we aren't sure if it's important but did you notice all those irons?

Sora: Now that I think about it, yeah. They were in the storage room. The building is pretty old so I unplugged them to prevent a power outage.

Angel: Oh, so they were originally plugged in. They weren't there when yesterday, so what's going on?

Alicia: And that's not the only thing. Look under the table where the drinks were.

Alicia: Looks like someone was plannin' somethin'. Dunno if it was the culprit or not but this definitely looks like it was planted beforehand.

I looked on top of the table. I noticed all the glass cups on the table.

Alicia: With everything goin' on, I didn't really have the to clean 'em. I could imagine it was one helluva party but I can't exactly remember much thanks to Mononeko switchin' the soda with alcohol.

Mononeko: Hm? I didn't do that.

Angel: Huh?

Mononeko: I was with Sora most of the time. There's no way I could replace the soda with alcohol without getting caught. Especially with these cat paws.

Angel: But if you didn't... then who did?

Sora: ... ... ...

Now that I think about it...

I leaned in and took a closer look at one of the glass cups. I picked it up and immediately noticed something different compared to the others. This cup was the only one to have actual soda inside.

But if that's the case...

Sora: Hey, does anyone remember who was drunk and who wasn't?

Prix: I do, actually. The ones who got drunk last night were Satoka, Kotone, Crimson, and Alicia.

Sora: Only them?

Prix: Seiketsu and Kanzen never came to the party. Meanwhile, Artoria, Anna, Strawberry, and Frostwing are all immune to the alcohol's affects. You, me, Angel, Eve, Chris, and Mia simply decided not to drink. And Chris brought Alicia to her room around the same time that all those who didn't drink were leaving.

Alicia: He did huh? He's always been so reliable to me. Still doesn't exactly make me feel better about all this though...

I turn around and leave the old building. I start to make my way to Rocket Punch Market, and on the way there, I bumped into Seiketsu.

Seiketsu: Hm? Oh, it's you.

Sora: Seiketsu. Investigating alone?

Seiketsu: Better to investigate alone than allow the culprit to manipulate information. Besides, I'm about done here anyway.

Sora: You are? Does that mean you already know who the killer is?

Seiketsu: Not too surprising. Though not even I can guess why they did it.

Sora: ... ... ...

Seiketsu: With that look on your face, you have a pretty good idea of who it might be too huh?

Sora: ... No point in lying. Yes, I might know who done it but no I don't know why they would.

Seiketsu: That so? Well there is something I should let you in on.

Seiketsu: I was investigating the island for quite a while. But last night I ended up spending a little too much time off the ship. As a result I slept in one of the cabins outside of the hotel. Luckily for me, I found a comfortable blue bed in one of the cabins and slept there at around 10:30 pm. I didn't wake up till after the Body Discovery Announcement.

Sora: What? You were that close to the crime scene?

Seiketsu: Just thought I'd let you know.

Why would Seiketsu tell me this? This sort of info only makes him look suspicious. Unless...

Seiketsu left and I was forced to put my thought on hold. I headed over to the Rocket Punch Market. There I saw Strawberry with Mia.

Sora: Strawberry. Mia, you're here too?

Mia: Yeah. I want to find who killed my sister. But I can't do that alone no matter how smart I am. Plus there's something that's been bugging me...

Sora: What is it?

Mia: Eve is 7 feet tall. But her body was 5 foot when we found her.

Sora: Meaning something must have happened to prevent her from growing further.

Strawberry: Yeah, that's why Mia came to me. But I can barely remember anything.

Sora: Can you tell me what you can remember?

Strawberry: After everyone who wasn't drunk left, I managed to return those who were drunk to their rooms. Everyone but one person who was asleep. Once I went to wake them up they suddenly attacked me and hit me in the head with something hard.

Sora: Huh? But when I saw you, you weren't injured at all.

Strawberry: That's thanks to my healing factor. My head healed after being busted open but it's taking a minute for my memory to get back to me. They probably cleaned up all the blood off the floor but I still have blood on my head as proof.

Strawberry moved some hair to the side to reveal a small amount of blood left behind from where she was hit.

Mia: It must have been right before I got that text.

Sora: About that, you're sure it wasn't Eve who sent it?

Mia: Of course not. Eve doesn't know how to text. But due to the school rules I couldn't leave the ship to see what was going on since it was already 10:15.

Mia: Right. You go on ahead then. Strawberry and I will keep investigating the area.

Strawberry: Hopefully my memory returns to me soon. Then I'll know exactly who attacked me.

Mononeko hopped onto my shoulder and we walked back to the hotel. This time we went into the building and up the stairs to the kitchen. That's where we found a trail of ice leading to the balcony.

Mononeko: Woah, what's this?

Sora: Looks like ice. And it's still frozen. But it doesn't look like it was frozen recently.

I turned towards the balcony that was completely destroyed.

Mononeko: It looks like something ran into it.

Sora: Something... or someone?

I looked down the balcony. Just as I thought, it led straight to the pool.

The intercom's turned on and Monokuma's face appeared on screen.

Monokuma: "Man, it's been a really long time since I've had one of these. Hope nobody thinks I've lost my touch. But anyway, times up! Investigation is over and it's time for the Class Trial! Everyone please report to the red door on the ship. I'll be waiting."

With that message, the intercom turned off.

Sora: Red door?

Mononeko: Yeah. I think Mia and Eve meantioned it before. I'll show you where it is.

Neko led me back to the ship. Inside, everyone was gathered around a big red door with Monokuma's face on it.

Frostwing: Is everyone here?

Artoria: Seems like it.

Anna: What an ominous looking door. Does that bear really expect us to go through there?

Strawberry: We don't really have a choice. If we don't, we all die and Kanzen wins.

Kanzen: Hey, what do you mean I win? If we vote wrong, I die too you know?

Alicia: Unless you were the culprit.

Sora: Preferable... then we could kill him off early.

Kanzen: So harsh on me for no reason...

Chris: Guys, we should probably get going now.

Satoka: We just gotta find who killed her right? Should be easy enough.

Seiketsu: Let's get this over with.

We all stepped into the red doors and found ourselves going down an elevator.

Kotone: An elevator? A pretty old one too...

Angel: ... ... ...

Alicia: You okay there, Angel?

Angel: I feel a bit sick in the stomach... are we going to be okay?

Alicia: Don't you worry, we got this. Right guys?

Mia: ... I will find out who did this... for Eve's sake.

With those words, the elevator came to a stop and the doors opened revealing a courtroom.

Monokuma: Well what do you think? A whole courtroom all to ourselves!

As always, Monokuma popped up out of nowhere.

Mia: Hey, what's the meaning of that.

Mia pointed at one of the 16 seats in front of us. It had a sign of Eve crossed out on it.

Monokuma: Well I didn't want Eve to miss out on this golden opportunity. Think of it as her getting to see her precious classmates die in front of her for not finding the killer. Or think of it as her watching her killer die while you all live. It doesn't really matter to me.

Mia: Bastard...

Artoria: Enough of this. We need to begin otherwise we can't move forward.

Monokuma: Alright, everyone get to your assigned seats so we can begin our very own class trial!

All of us took our seats.

Eve Mioda. She was the biggest and physically she was the strongest one here. But despite that, she was just a child who wanted to help out the best she could. Someone as kind as her...

Was murdered by one of us. Who did it? Why did they do it? Was it really just to get off this island? Or was there something more?
