ROLEPLAY ONESHOT: Tea Party (Molly x Daichi)

[A/N] Hey, hey! This is a little different than normal, guys! This is a oneshot about my OC and the OC of ChocoboRacer702, Molly Cole! We roleplay together and I offered to write a oneshot about them in exchange for her drawing my boy Daichi Mochizuki. Please follow her! She's amazing, and she's done such a good job coordinating our RP! I'm going to sleep now. I should not be awake. But I needed to finish this.

When the two entered the dining hall, they found that it had been transformed. Fairy lights were strung up on the walls, the table had a fine golden cloth on it, and it was laden with dishes and teapots. The room was immaculate.

"Thanks for inviting me, Daichi! Though, honestly, the formal wear might be overkill," Molly smirked playfully. Her dress was stunning. An exquisite gown with layers of light blue, dark blue, and a speck of purple, it fit her in her waist but flared out at the bottom. The flowy, transparent sleeves were delicate and lengthy.

Slightly flustered by her mischievous smile, but too confused to pay it much attention, he responded, "Wh-What? But you i-invited me." He tugged at the sleeve of his dark blue suit.

Molly's eyes narrowed as it dawned on her. "Yumi. I've told her seven billion times to stay out of this. Sorry, Daichi."

"Th-That's okay! She p-put all this effort into it. We may as well e-enjoy it, right?" he fiddled with a strand of his hair as he felt his cheeks heat up.

"I mean, as long as you're sure!" she decided.

He ran up to a chair and pulled it out for her. "M-M'lady," he grinned. She took it, feeling butterflies in her stomach. She found his gentlemanly demeanor charming. He was slightly uncomfortable in a suit, given that he'd never actually worn one before. Chenhua had helped him pick one out. But even so, he was thrilled for the vast amount of teas laid out in front of them. Yumi had been kind enough to label them. There was Lavender Herbal Tea, Rose Congou, Gunpowder Green Tea, Assam, Chamomile, and of course, the Hibiscus tea that the two of them had offered him when they first met. There were little menus on the table that listed what they tasted like and what foods they paired well with.

"Wow. She sure put a lot of thought into this. I wonder how long she's had this plan in her back pocket," Molly commented, slightly concerned with how conniving her best friend could be sometimes. Daichi merely chuckled at the idea of Yumi cackling with glee as she made tea and typed up menus.

Daichi ate some of the finger sandwiches on the table, particularly the smoked salmon and watercress egg salad ones. Molly happily picked at the cucumber ones and the roast beef ones. But they both knew that Molly was more excited for the scones and petit fours. And Daichi spent most of his time drinking tea.

He giggled. "I-I feel so fancy!"

"I know! It's like we're nobility or something!" Molly enthused, eyes sparkling in excitement.

Daichi's heart fluttered at this, and he reached across the table to brush her bangs away from her lighter eye. She did the same, revealing his tribal tattoo. She loved how he never judged her or pointed out her heterochromia. How he seemed to celebrate and embrace it even without pointing it out. He loved how she reminded him that his past was valuable. How she took interest in his history. "Y-You look really p-pretty, by the way," he complimented, propping his head up with his other hand.

She flushed a little, giggling. "Thanks. L-Let's dig into the desserts!" she suggested, anticipating the delicious sweet tastes paired with the tea. She tried a bit of everything, delighted in the scrumptious flavors. Part of her wondered if they were made by that Ultimate Chef guy. How would Yumi have gotten him to help?

Daichi ate some fruit and berries as he listened to Molly rave about each particular goodie. The perfect flakiness of the scones, the proper balance of sweetness. She listened back as he rambled about the various teas. How this one was earthy. How this one was a little smoky, and this one floral. Of course, he lifted his pinky. It was required.

"Y-Y'know... I kinda know why Yumi d-decided to do this today," Daichi looked away, nudging a blackberry around his plate.

"What do you mean?" Molly asked, intrigued.

"Today is th-the one year anniversary of wh-when we met for the first time. If I'm n-not mistaken, that is."

Upon hearing this, Molly poured Daichi and herself each a cup of hibiscus tea, adding in some honey. She placed the cup into his outstretched palms. "A toast, then? For many more years spent together. For many more blissful and lazy days."

"Here, here," he smiled. They clinked their teacups together softly, and let the smooth, sweet flavor glide down their throats. "Let's clean up. W-We can't leave this place m-messy."

"Yeah, of course! But, uh... could we get a few pictures before we take the whole thing down?" Molly requested, sad that it was coming to an end.

"D-Definitely!"

She stood up and took a few pictures of the dining hall. He took a few of her eating a little cake and holding a teacup. She then walked over to him, flipped her phone into the selfie position, and planted a gentle kiss on his cheek, snapping the photograph at the perfect moment. Immediately, he went bright red, heart racing.

"Oh, yeah. I'm definitely gonna frame this. Yumi will be so pumped up!" Molly cheered.

"Wh-What? Y-You just—" he stuttered, eyes wide and barely able to breathe. Molly merely winked and began to pick up dishes to clean.

"Thank you, Yumi. You shouldn't have meddled... but I'm glad you did," she whispered to herself as Daichi watched her, stunned.
