Non despair AU

     Nao's POV:

     Honoka had been over at my house the entire day and we were starting to get tired.

     You see...her parents allowed her to sleep over tonight which is rare for them to agree to so we took full advantage of it. She came over at 8 am this morning.

     For someone who is used to waking up early for ice skating practice I'm fine, but Hon likes sleeping in and was a mess when I picked her up this morning.

     And now here we are, 10 pm laying on the couch.

     "Mm Nao I'm sleepy..." she mumbled.

     She rested her head on my shoulder as I blushed with excitement.

     I hummed to the blue eyed girl softly and patted her head.

     After a while she moved her head to my chest and fell asleep.

     I stroked her hair and smiled down at my best friend.

     I've had a crush on her for months now and I wanted to tell her so bad...but she doesn't understand things like crushes. It'd be awkward to explain it to her.

     I glanced at the clock after sitting in silence for a while, it was 10:30 and I knew we couldn't stay downstairs forever.

     I scooped at the sleeping girl and carried her to my bedroom and set her on my bed, she opened her eyes sleepily.

     "Naooo what are you doing....?" She whined. I laughed at her drowsiness.

     "I'm just tucking you in dear."

     "Oh okay." She said quietly, smiling up at me.

     I pulled the covers over her torso and climbed in beside her.

     She grinned at me but started to frantically look around the room.

     "Nao! Where's Cheer?!" She cried.

     "Don't worry she's right here." I said calmly, giving Honoka her pink Care Bear. She got Cheer when she was two years old and hasn't slept without her since.

     She grabbed the bear from me and hugged it close.

     "I love you Nao." She said suddenly.

     "I love you too Hon...get some rest okay?"

     "I will." She whispered, cuddling close to me as we both drifted into a peaceful sleep.
