•Intro - The Mono Store•

I had been busy exploring the mansion when I stumbled upon something unusual.

Tucked away in a corner was a sign that read:

"The Mono Store - where all the things you didn't know you needed have a home!"

I rolled my eyes at the bear's obviousness before going inside. For being as small as it was the store was absolutely packed to the brim with useless junk. It must've been a mean game of Tetris trying to fit all of the items in one tiny room!

Among the junk (including but not limited to: expired snacks, stomach medication, paper lanterns, and a full ass suit of armor), was a little lit-up contraption. It looked like a gachapon machine you'd usually see at the train station. Just pop 100 yen in and you'd have yourself a plastic toy. However, this one was a little different. The hole where you'd usually put a coin was much larger, I've never seen a type of yen that would fit there.

"Man isn't that hole big? Bet you're wondering how you'd stuff a regular ol' coin inside puhuhu!"

I watched as the bear of the hour popped up from behind the counter. He wore his usual sinister grin.

"Oh gross Monokuma, no innuendos please. I cannot take it today...or any day really." I groaned.

"But my point still stands! How will you operate this fine machine Sei?"

"If Etsuko were here she'd just kick it, can I do that?" The bear just shook his head dismissively.

"Kicking my precious MonoMono Machine is off limits missy! Besides, I'm giving you the low down on this thing so you should be grateful!"

"Okay fine asshole, tell me what the thing does." I deadpanned.

"Ahem..as I said before, this is the MonoMono Machine! A contraption unique to this mansion! All you gotta do is put in a monocoin and spin that wheel in the front! Then a surprise will pop out, sound fun?" Monokuma laughed uproariously, getting a little too close to my face.

"Okay first of all.." I put a hand in front of me to block the bear from inching closer. "This looks like a regular gacha machine so the mechanics cannot be exclusive to this mansion. And secondly, how do I get these monocoins?"

A small rustle came from behind the counter before Monokassi popped up to join us.

"We give you the coins Miss Sei! Every day my horrible cousin keeps you all here you get three coins! Each turn costs just one! Isn't that exciting! Three prizes every day just for getting along with your fellow ultimates!" The teal bear beamed down at me before reaching her paw out. "Here's five to get you started! The extra two are from me since you're so nice!"

"Thanks Monokassi, I'm give it a try." As soon as they appeared, the bears were gone. I took a moment to look down at the coins in my hands, they were definitely the right size. They just looked like cheap metal with a picture of Monokuma's face plastered on it, like the creator couldn't even bother to make them realistic.

"Here we go..." I sighed, putting in my first coin. A few dings could be heard from the machine before a little capsule popped out and into my hands. I opened it to see a little plastic airplane with a keyring attached to it. I smiled, immediately knowing who'd like it.

But wait..if I get a bunch of these coins then I'm going to have a shit ton of prizes that I don't need. There's not much use for half the stuff in this store, why would a capsule machine be any different? Unless...I regift them. Nobody will mind a little reusing and recycling will they?

I tucked the airplane into my pocket, that's one present down. I put in the rest of my coins and got a fountain pen, skull hair clips, a microfiber cloth, and a small pink stuffed bear (not one that looked like another Monokuma clone, thank god).

After collecting the prizes into my pockets I left the store, closing the door behind me.

What a weird little shop...
