Touko Fukawa (Touko x Kazuichi)

First off, can I say that by the time this goes out, it'll probably be a week since this was requested and the requester probably won't want to read it anymore. I'm really sorry, I took two requests on at the same time, and I completely forgot to write this one. Anyway. I've never really heard of people shipping these two, so it's definitely a first for me (and the main reason I forgot to write it, to be quite honest) and I hope it really is good enough.

This was requested by the incredibly patient and amazing KitsuneWisp who asked for: Can you do Touko Fukawa x Kazuichi Souda. Probably have them like start as the bonding over how they're alike or Souda just tries to win Touko's heart and Touko just starts freaking out

I'll try my hardest.

Touko shook her head. She didn't know why the imbecile kept following her around. Had she been able to have her way, she would've stayed with Komaru in Towa city. Alas, Future Foundation wouldn't allow it, and ensured that if she wanted to stay apart of the Foundation, she was to help out with the remnants.

The process of bringing them back was slow. Fortunately for her, it meant she only had to deal with the five of them left. She didn't know two of the males, seeing as the short one would make a thing of staying away from everyone besides his male classmates, and the male with one red eye and one green eye was never really seen. The two girls had tried multiple times to get her to hang out with them, have some sort of girly night with them, but she refused. Eventually they gave up with her, leaving her alone. However, the pink haired male was quite persistent.

She wasn't entirely sure why he followed her around, or how she got to know him. She just remembers that Byakuya had dismissed her off like she was nothing, and he was watching. After that, she remembers him coming up to her, but what he discussed with her and what he did was unknown to her brain. Or Syo's either, she had tried to think about it with her serial-killing personality, but nothing.

After that incident, he followed her around a lot more. Whenever she needed something, she was always there, and when she needed someone to just let out her frustrations with Byakuya, he'd be willing to listen. It's how their friendship, or whatever she could call this, started. He was so nice to her, and understood her problems with Byakuya.

She hadn't expected it at first. She had never seen the boy pining over the blonde princess, but then again she had no reason to pay attention to it. She wasn't even present when they were running the programme, so she had no idea of his actions with her.

However, she remembers being sat on a couch one day. The gymnast was sat next to her, but she made no effort of conversation, and Touko would've ignored her anyway. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see the mechanic talking to the princess, but that was only because of his obnoxiously pink hair. Not because she was trying to look for him or anything.

She recognises the way the princess dismisses him. It was like he was scum to her. He wasn't scum to Touko, but she wouldn't publicly admit it. She wouldn't admit to even knowing the boy publicly if she could help it. She recognises the rejected look on Kazuichi's face, and it does hurt her heart a little.

"I-I didn't know Souda was i-infatuated with Nevermind." She commented, looking at the gymnast. The response wasn't from her, it was from the yakuza, who stood behind her.

"How the fuck couldn't you? Do you just walk around blind all fucking day?" He spat.

She'd really have loved to set Syo on him.

"W-W-What's it to you i-if I do? S-Scum like you d-don't deserve to know my a-actions." She spat back, glaring up at him.

"Not like you can talk baby gangster! You was infatuated with Pekoyama weren't you?"

Had the princess not walked over and started a new conversation, she was confident that Fuyuhiko, whose name she had only learnt a day ago despite him being around for months, would've gone straight for Akane's neck.

Days after the incident, Touko still found herself having conversations with the mechanic. She seemed to be able to understand him more, and she liked that he understood what it was like. Dedicating yourself so much to one person, only to see them reject you. However, as far as she understood, Kazuichi had it a lot worse than her. From what she could understand, Sonia had fallen in love with a breeder, who she thinks was called Tanaka, but she wasn't quite sure, and that Sonia ignored him in favour of the breeder, and how destroyed she was when he was executed off.

"She still wouldn't pay attention to me." He sighed, looking away. "I tried everything. Kinda makes me wish I'd killed Nidai instead of Tanaka sometimes. She'd of been much happier; they all would've."

"D-Don't talk like that. God, your like 'Omaru." She said. "B-Besides, who would I have to talk about T-Togami to, without you?"

"I 'Spose you're right." He smirked.

She didn't think anything weird of the boy. She was actually quite close to him. That didn't mean she was going to willingly get along with his classmates, though. Which is why she thought it weird when the yakuza sat next to her on the couch. She was writing something, and he just willingly sat with her.

"W-What do you think your doing?" She muttered.

"Well, if you're friends with Kaz, looks like I gotta fucking get along with you." He replied, rolling his eyes. "Trust me, hate this as much as you fucking do."

"I don't need, nor want your pity." She spat. "I can cope on your own. Kazuichi wouldn't want it either."

"First name basis, huh?" He smirked. She'd definitely wanted to let Syo loose on him now.

"W-What's it to you?"

"Look, Kaz hasn't gotten attached to anyone like this. Not even Nevermind. He clearly likes you, and wants you. So I'm the fucker that's gotta convince you."

"W-What do you mean, attached? W-We're just f-friends! Keep you head out of b-business that isn't yours!"

"It is my fucking business when my fucking best friend wants to fucking date you!" He hissed. Touko's eyes widened.

She didn't mean to be sick on the floor. She thinks she had a justified reason to, though.

So when a couple of weeks later, when she met up with Kazuichi, she decided to bring up the topic her and the yakuza had been talking about. Sure, it probably would've strained their relationship, but even Komaru had told her that there was no way to confirm Kazuichi's actions without asking him himself.

"I-I was talking to Kuzuryuu the either day." She started. He turned to face her, placing his wrench on the table.

"Oh? I didn't think you and Fuyuhiko... saw eye to eye."

"I-I didn't s-say we did!" She insisted. "H-He spoke to me, n-not the other way around."

"Sure, sure. Whatever you say, princess." He smirked, picking his wrench up again. "What'd you talk about, anyway?"

"You, mainly." She said. He dropped his wrench accidentally, scaring Touko a little. He picked it back up, but there was a small flush on his cheeks. She looked away, grabbing onto her hair.

"W-Well, what about me?" He asked, fiddling with the wrench and metal. She looked away.

"W-Well... he said... that... G-God, he was probably just lying!"

"Doesn't sound like him to lie." He muttered.

"F-Fine! Y-You want to know that badly, h-huh?" She spat. Kazuichi turned to her, confused. "He said you wanted to... to fucking date me!"

Kazuichi's eyes widened, and he stuttered a bit. Touko would've rolled her eyes, but she settled with looking away.

"T-Typical boys. A-Always making-"

"Didn't think he'd actually say something." He mumbled, looking away. He ran his hand through his hair, and Touko looked at him, her eyebrows knitted together.

"W-What do you m-"

She got cut off by Kazuichi connecting their lips. Her eyes widened before she closed them, kissing him back. Sure, she wasn't the classic romance girl, but for once she'd settle with being a classic romance. She wrapped her arms around his neck.

"So, does that answer your question?" He asked, smirking. She hit him around the head, blushing.

"W-What question?" She stuttered. "I-I never got to f-finish my question, w-which is rude, may I add."

"Maybe you can answer mine then." He smiled. "Come on a date with me, tomorrow?"

She blushed once more, nodding shyly.

Touko didn't seem to notice Hajime and Fuyuhiko in the background. Hajime seemed to be handing Fuyuhiko money of some sorts. If there's one lesson to learn from this, it's that you don't make a bet with a yakuza. Ever.

Kazuichi smiled, shaking his head. His friends might've been idiots, but at least he got the girl he was chasing after. She might not have had the perfect features like Sonia, and she might've been a little crazy, but he loved her all the same. Luckily, she did him.

He couldn't ask for anything more.
