Rantaro Amami (Shuichi x Kokichi Part 2)
Ok, before I say anything about this request or anything about this, I want to thank everyone. At the time I started writing this (23/06/18 and bloody 7:37 in the morning) we were at #2 in the goodbyedespair tag. I just wanted to take this to thank you all for reading this, voting on this and commenting and keeping my spirits up with giving me these requests. I'm far from an amazing writing, but the fact you're all willing to give me a chance and let me write and contribute towards this fandom truly warms my heart. Thank you all for getting this book this far.
We also reached over 800 reads. I'm so happy and shocked. Once again, thank you!
Anyway, on to the request:
So I wrote a sickfic!Kokichi x Shuichi for anonymous, and they requested a part two. After some long and confusing discussion, we both finally understood what was asked for. They asked for: Rantaro is the sick one, and it's part two to Shuichi x Kokichi
That should make enough sense. If you don't understand, you will as you read on. Enjoy!

Whilst Shuichi had taken the brunt of Kokichi's illness, Rantaro had still been the one to initially take the supreme leader into his care. Shuichi may have dealt with Kokichi for longer than Rantaro had, but by the time Shuichi had properly began taking care of Kokichi, the germs and bacteria surrounded him had become quite harmless, or vanished.
The power of the human body, am I right?
Unfortunately, bacteria and germs don't suddenly disappear. Your body isn't Barry Scott, and with a bang, the dirt isn't gone. Besides, Rantaro didn't exactly want to know if Shuichi and Kokichi had banged to get the dirt away anyway.
Moving on.
Being the considerate friend he always was, Rantaro had managed to get himself ill. If he hadn't had been so caring towards Kokichi and if he hadn't offered to look after the smaller student, he may have found himself in a completely different situation. Maybe he'd have been sat in the cafeteria next to Kaede without feeling the need to vomit everywhere. Of course, that would be in a perfect world, and that hardly existed here.
Sure, he was in the cafeteria. And yes, he was sat next to Kaede, as well as Korekiyo. However, the rest of his ideal situation hadn't been answered, and there he was sat, listening to the rest of his classmates ramble on about different situations whilst he attempted not to puke on any of them. Multi-tasking was something he was good at surprisingly, and he was sure Kirumi would be proud.
A nudge disturbed him from his thoughts and he quietly sighed. He turned to face Korekiyo, his eyebrows raised.
"Is something bothering you, Amami?" He asked quietly, leaning close to the green-haired male. Amami shook his head, attempting to keep the conversation to a minimal. The less he spoke, the less sick he would feel. Korekiyo seemed to accept his answer, nodding. However, the look on his face (or what Rantaro could see of his face) seemed rather disbelieving.
"So, it's agreed. We'll split off into the groups and see if we can find anything else, alright?" Kaede asked. Rantaro looked up. He hadn't paid any attention what-so-ever, and they finally had a plan? He was planning to reside to his room and rest, but if his classmates were asking of something from him, he'd have no other choice but to comply.
"That sounds lovely, Akamatsu." He smiled, gritting his teeth inside his mouth. She smiled back, before laughing. He tilted his head, confused.
"You might want to go catch your group, Amami, seeing as Ouma's already dragged Shuichi off."
Kaede was a life saver. He owed her so bad, whether she knew it or not.
He laughed lightly back, nodding. He stood up, bidding the rest of his classmates a goodbye before leaving. Once out of the room, he sighed heavily, running his fingers through his hair. Why did he have to be grouped with someone who spent their time lying and running away from everything/everyone? Sure, he was friends with both the detective and supreme leader, and Shuichi was far more bearable and citizen-like than Kokichi, but having to be grouped with Kokichi was generally annoying.
Rantaro wiped his forehead, shaking his head. He shouldn't be thinking about how much of a nightmate Kokichi was. He was supposed to be looking for them as well as around the school, not thinking about how much of a nuisance Kokichi was. Is. Eh, not like it matters what he says.
"Ran-chan!" He heard someone scream before a weight suddenly jumping on his back.
His eyes widened, and he stumbled forwards. He heard someone shout out his name alongside Kokichi's (the bastard. Friends or not, he's dead), before Rantaro collapsed down onto the floor, Kokichi tumbling off his back. He'd taken the force of the fall, but seeing as Kokichi had fallen off his back, it seemed like he had also hurt himself. Rantaro sighed once again, watching as the navy-haired detective ran over. Instinctively, Shuichi helped Kokichi up before offering a hand to Rantaro. Rantaro smiled gratefully, allowing himself to be pulled up.
Once on his feet, he swayed a little. Both of his classmates moved to steady him, and soon he seemed to be able to support himself. Before he could mumble an apology to the supreme leader, the detective began speaking.
"A-Are you alright, Rantaro?" He asked. Kokichi gasped dramatically. Rantaro rolled his eyes, wincing at the pain it caused him.
"Y-You care more about Ran-chan then me, Saihara-chan?" Kokichi asked, throwing his arms in the air. Shuichi shook his head, stuttering out an apology before Kokichi began cackling. Rantaro's head throbbed more prominently, but he didn't bother saying anything.
"I-I wasn't... it's... h-he's just paler than usual... I-I was concerned." Shuichi mumbled, twisting his fingers together. Kokichi smiled, kissing the detective's cheek.
"Of course you were! You're too caring, Saihara-chan! There's no way you'd leave me for an avocado!"
God, what Rantaro would do to get Kokichi to quieten down. He loved his friends, considered him near to a brother to be completely honest, but Kokichi's voice was shrilling, and his head was causing an immense amount of pain for him.
"R-Rantaro?" Kokichi asked, leaving his boyfriend alone for a couple of minutes. He walked over to the traveller, concern evident in his voice. Rantaro was half expecting him to burst out with it's a lie, or something along those lines. However, Kokichi remained silent, tilting his head up at the green-haired male.
"Rantaro? Are you ok?" Kokichi asked one more. For some reason, the sick filling Rantaro had during their discussions had re-emerged, and he wrinkled his nose. He needed to get on with investigating, he couldn't waste time because he was sick. It was probably just in his head.
One thing lead to another, and just after he turned his head away from the supreme leader, Rantaro coughed, vomit spilling out of his mouth. Kokichi's eyes widened, and Shuichi rubbed his back. Rantaro didn't remember much else, but he remembers the sudden dizziness he felt, before his entire world faded to black.
Both Kokichi and Shuichi looked at each other, shocked. Sure, they had both suspecting the traveller hadn't been feeling the best, but neither thought he would actually be sick. Shuichi was supporting the green-haired male, and Kokichi seemed to be thinking of a plan.
"Bring him back to my room? See what we can do?" Kokichi suggested. Shuichi nodded, and the two of them both carried the traveller to Kokichi's room, setting him on Kokichi's bed, waiting for him to wake up.
When Rantaro woke up, he groaned, leaning further into the pillow. He felt someone rub his back, quietly murmuring to him. He didn't bother paying attention. He felt his pillow, and he suddenly looked up, confused. He was met with the smiling face of the supreme leader, and when he looked behind him, he saw the anxious detective.
"Morning, Ran-chan!" Kokichi whispered, giggling. Rantaro smiled. This was nicer than earlier. It was at a bearable volume. Why didn't he talk like this all the time? "Well, afternoon actually! But no one has to know!"
"What's going on?" He mumbled, leaning his head back on Kokichi's leg. He felt someone's hands run through his hair, and based on the fact that they were quite small, he guessed they were Kokichi's.
"You were sick, and then fainted. We brought you back to Kokichi's room." Shuichi quietly explained. Rantaro nodded, moving to sit up. He should probably reside back to his room. His two friends looked at him quizzically, and he stopped with his movements.
"Where you going, Ran-chan?" Kokichi whined quietly.
"Back to my room? Leave you two with each-"
"You looked after me, I owe you the favour! Just let Saihara-chan and I do this, please?"
Call Rantaro a softie, but he could never resist puppy-eyes. His sisters always called it his weakness, and he had no other choice but to agree with the fact. Kokichi's puppy-eyes gave you some sort of guilt though, had you not obeyed him. Besides, who'd want to make someone look and feel like a kicked puppy? Not Rantaro.
Rantaro sighed, laying back down. Shuichi continued to rub his back, and it was quite calming for the traveller. He hesitantly laid his head back down on Kokichi's leg, and he felt Kokichi's finger run through his hair again. He closed his eyes, almost asleep, before he heard Kokichi whisper something.
"Goodnight, big brother."
He smiled. Sure, he'd be a big brother to both males, even if only Kokichi had been the one to whisper it. He had already classed them as family, so for them to finally symbolise it would be nice.
Family. That sounded nicer.
And that's exactly what they are.
