Kokichi Ouma (Kokichi x Kaito)

Prompt given by the ever so lovely and overly patient SheMyCrabQueen, who requested: Can you do a Ouma X Kaito Sick Fic I don't Care which one is sick

With such little to go on, and seeing as they didn't mind what I wrote and who I wrote about, I made this little thing up. Hope it's alright:

Set during Chapter 5 when Kokichi uses the exisals to get Kaito (you know what I'm on about, I'm bad at explanations). Kaito doesn't have his deteriorating health, and Kokichi's is planning something whilst having Kaito locked up in the bathroom. However, when Kokichi begins to drive his plan, he doesn't seem to be in the best of shape and Kaito helps him out.

I think that makes enough sense.

Thanks! Sorry it took so long, thanks for understanding!

Kaito sighed, leaning against the door. If he had the will and energy to annoy Kokichi, he'd have continued banging on the door. He'd only stopped from sympathy for the supreme leader, but also because he was getting fed up with himself.

Pressing his ear to the door, Kaito sighed. He could hear movement on the other side, so he gathered that Kokichi, or someone at least, was planning something. Kaito groaned, he wasn't willing to put up with any of Kokichi's bullshit. From the sounds of things, Kokichi (or whoever was behind the door, but Kaito was confident no one would bother with him besides Kokichi) was dragging something, but to what he was dragging, or why he was dragging it, was unbeknown to Kaito.

Kaito shook his head. He was starting to get incredibly bored. Whilst entertainment wasn't something Kaito usually thought about, stuck staring at the same four walls and the same objects inside the walls did things to the mind. If he didn't receive company within the next few hours he was sure he would definitely go insane. He wasn't sure who that would affect, Kokichi, himself, or the others, but he quite simply didn't care.

"Momota-chan~!"

Kaito groaned. His assumption had been correct, and it was one time he really wished he had been the idiot his classmates had labelled himself as. At this point, he was seeming more like his sidekick and less like himself.

Psh, he was kidding himself. There was no way he was at the level of logic Shuichi had. He hardly had the brain cells to dress himself correctly, and he even failed at that.

"The fuck do you want, you gremlin." He muttered angrily, pounding the door once with his fist.

"What makes you think I want something?" Kokichi asked innocently. Kaito glared at the wall, imagining it was the purple-haired prankster. Had it been, he would've totalled beaten the shit out of it. He definitely wouldn't have let Kokichi win. Not after last time.

"When the fuck don't you want something." Kaito replied. "You're always up to something, and I won't fall for you schemes."

"Nishishish!" Kokichi laughed. "I wouldn't be so sure!"

What Kaito didn't know, was how defenceless Kokichi was at this moment. He was heavily leaning onto the door, supporting himself. He could barely keep himself upright, how the hell would he convince Kaito to fall into his plan? However, doesn't the saying go what they don't know can't hurt them?

Kaito growled, shaking his head. He pounded his fist on the door again. He wouldn't let Kokichi win him over. He wouldn't be shown up to be an idiot. He didn't have to be like Shuichi, he just had to be smarter than usual, be unsuspecting. Take Kokichi on like a man.

"Open this damn door and I'll show you why I won't fall for anything!" He shouted, standing up. He could do this, self-confidence was key for winning any battle. No matter what anyone would take on, as long as they had self confidence, they were sure to get pretty far with their challenge.

"Why should I listen to your demands?" Kokichi asked teasingly, shifting his weight from one leg to the other. He knew sooner or later he'd have to abandon standing, but he was confident he could get through teasing Kaito being stood up. Besides, it was pretty simple to tease him, so it wouldn't like he'd be standing for hours.

"We should fight this out like men, Ouma." Kaito demanded. "Open the door, stop being the coward you are."

Kokichi laughed, turning his head away to cough. He really needed to get his plan done and dusted (haha, dusted. Kirumi would've loved to have dusted, had she not fallen from that vine) before he could think about himself.

However, his coughing soon turned to hacking, and it caused him to collapse onto the floor. At this point, he was struggling to breathe. How had he been able to muster up such great acting moments before, and now he was suddenly crumbling apart?

"Ouma?" Kaito asked, pushing his ear against the door. Sure, Kokichi was an ass hole, and he knew that Kokichi deserved to have some sort of karma, but no one deserved to be choking, especially in the conditions they were in.

When he didn't hear a response, he began banging on the door. It might've been part of Kokichi's plan, but you couldn't blame Kaito for being concerned. Whether you hated the guy or not, there was no way Kaito couldn't be worried.

"Ouma, open the door." Kaito demanded, attempting to hold his stern composure. Whilst he did quite well to maintain it, Kokichi could tell the genuine concern in his voice. He slowly reached up to the handle, leaning heavily on it. He fumbled for a key, and once he had finally retrieved it, quickly unlocked the door. He left Kaito to do the rest. Surely the astrounaut couldn't have been stupid enough to not know how to open the door, right?

Luckily enough for him, Kaito seemed to have noticed Kokichi had done something, and he managed to shove the door open. Of course, once he had opened it, he was a bit shocked at the sight of the supreme leader sat on the floor, clutching at his chest.

"Ouma?" Kaito questioned, suddenly weary of the purple-haired boy. He was known for his incredible acting, and whilst it wasn't his talent, he sure gave the person a good run for their money. Sure, he looked to be in quite a lot of pain, and illness was a hard thing to fake, but some part of Kaito couldn't help but wonder if the boy had malicious intent, or if he truly was feeling this terrible.

"What... the hell... are you... staring at." Kokichi managed to wheeze out, his coughing fit still over-taking his ability to even breathe, let alone form a coherent sentence.

"You seriously shouldn't be doing anything like this, Ouma. Whether you're an ass or not, you can't do this to yourself." Kaito muttered. Sure, he hated the kid, and most people knew that, but he could set aside his hatred for a couple of minutes. The guy couldn't be terrible, could he?

"Have appearances.... to keep... up."

"Not with us, Ouma." Kaito promised. "You aint gotta keep nothing up for us. Just gotta be yourself."

Kokichi would've laughed, and perhaps not his signature nishishish. Maybe he would've allowed himself to let out a genuine laugh, despite hating the astronaut, but considering the circumstances, he didn't bother trying to push his body further then its limit.

Kaito sighed. "Look, just... you gotta let us help you sometimes. Break down your stupid persona thing, let us see the real you."

It was the closest the two had ever gotten to bonding. With the countless amounts of times Kaito had attempted to attack Kokichi, and the amount of times Kokichi had actually hit him in return was beginning to become routine for the time. Times like this... it wasn't existent in either boys lives.

"And what... exactly are you... going to even do?"

Even in his condition, Kokichi still managed to add his usual snarky tone. It annoyed Kaito greatly. He'd have loved to have known the real Kokichi, not the one that hides behind a mask of a villainous mastermind.

"Take care of you, of course!" Kaito replied quickly, kneeling down next to the boy. "You aint gotta do this on your own! I'm sure Shuichi can help if things get too bad!"

"Run along... to your sidekick... when things... get to hard. I...ronic."

"Hey! I don't run along to Shuichi, it's just..." Kokichi had nailed it though, like he always did. Kaito seemed to struggle more and more without Shuichi's help, and it was meant to be Shuichi running to him for help.

"Next... your going... to suggest... Harukawa... to help out." Kokichi wheezed, a small laugh escaping his lips. Kaito sighed, shaking his head. He knew trying to get Maki's cooperation on something like this was futile, so he wouldn't even bother suggesting her name, or making promising he couldn't keep.

"No but... it aint good you sitting down here wheezing your way to your death. You gotta go somewhere else."

"Like... where."

"I dunno." Kaito muttered, standing up. He twitched his nose, trying to think of somewhere. Sure, he could admit defeat now and take him to Shuichi, but he'd most likely be asleep like the rest of their classmates (minus Kiibo, of course.), and he would hate to disturb either of his sidekicks. Had Kirumi still been alive, he'd have suggested seeking her help, but alas, Ryouma wasn't alive, consequently executing off Kirumi as well.

"Just... come to my room or some shit. But don't screw around." Kaito sighed, offering a hand to the supreme leader. He liked to think of it as instead of offering Kokichi his help to fight of some illness, it was to form a friendship with the guy. He was confident it would never happen, but a guy could dream. If he could go to space, why couldn't he form a friendship with Kokichi?

"Not even... a date first?"

Kaito rolled his eyes, but hearing Kokichi joke around was a bit comforting. It meant that the illness hadn't completely taken over the kid, or Kokichi hadn't allowed it to take over him.

"Sure, I'll take you on a date afterwards or some shit." Kaito replied lazily, not really bothered. Kokichi seemed to perk up at the mention of a date, but neither pushed any further on the instant.

"You reckon you can walk?" Kaito asked as he helped Kokichi to his feet. Kokichi shrugged, before dramatically falling into Kaito's arm. On instinct, Kaito caught him. It wasn't because he wouldn't have caught the guy regardless. Definitely not...

"You're probably going... to have to... carry me." Kokichi sighed. Whilst his coughing had died down, his voice was quite wheezy, and was incredibly light.

Putting his late night training session to good use, he lifted Kokichi into his arms bridal style. It shocked Kokichi, and he instantly grabbed onto the taller male. Had anyone else seen them, they would've questioned the two's comradery,  but Kaito could see through it. All that mattered was the male in his arms's health, not the opinions of their few remaining classmates.

Although, he knew Maki would have a lot to say about this. What she didn't know wouldn't kill her though.

"You can rest if you want." Kaito suggested, looking down at Kokichi only to find the leader had already fallen asleep. Kaito sighed, shaking his head. He made his way back to his dorm room, careful not to jostle the kid about too much.

Walking down the hallways, the astronaut couldn't see any of his classmates. It was rather lucky on both of their sides, as he wasn't willing to listen to the gossip they'd surely come up with. With Tsumugi's cosplay and love for something called 'shipping' (which Kaito evidently knew nothing about), he knew she'd surely be able to come up with something.

He unlocked his dorm room, managing to hold the supreme leader with one arm. He was incredibly light, and it was something that worried Kaito. Sure, he had been able to ignore it, seeing as he had a rivalry with him, but in moments like this he wasn't sure he could ignore it.

He settled Kokichi down on his bed, pulling the covers over him. He didn't bother undressing the leader, saving him his pride, and to be honest, Kaito didn't want to undress the leader knowing how awkward it would be. That being said, he did remove Kokichi's shoes and socks, and if he planted a kiss on his forehead, no one would be none the wiser to it.

He laid down on his bed, crawling under his own covers as well.

"Night... Kokichi." He muttered, turning away from Kokichi. The leader smirked.

"It's a lie..." He muttered. Sure, Kaito knew he was lying with that comment, and that his illness hadn't been faked. "...Night, Kaito."

How he managed to miss seeing Kiibo in the hallway shocked the rest of their classmates, including Kiibo himself.

"He did what?"

Kiibo was sure he shouldn't have shared the information with the rest of his classmates either, and if he found Kokichi's body in the morning, he was sure Maki would be to blame.

Oh well.
