Song in the media is Clair De Lune, by Debussy. ;). Nothing else to say.

Kaede hummed, sitting down by her piano. It had been a long day, and she always looked forward to sitting at her piano and playing her problems away. Ok, that might've been a lie, she did enjoy spending time with a specific red-headed magician a bit more than spending time with her piano, but what no one knew wouldn't kill them.
Her fingers danced around the keys, playing the calming and familiar tune of Clair De Lune, by Debussy. It was one of her favourites, and it calmed her down on the hardest of days. She'd recommend it to anyone who had problems. Maybe she could play it for her friend Shuichi. He seemed to be a big ball of anxiety. It could calm him down.
Speaking of her friend, a knock on her door caused her fingers to falter. She puffed out a sigh, standing up. Straightening her skirt, she walked towards her door, her cheeks hollow as she looked at the person who had disrupted her. Most people by now knew that her time with her piano was sacred, and something not to interrupt.
"This better be important." She muttered to herself before opening the door. Her eyes widened, letting the person in.
"Saihara! I was just thinking about you." She laughed. He nodded awkwardly, fumbling with his hands. He looked away, nodding, but said nothing. They stood in silence for a couple of minutes before Kaede decided to press him for his sudden appearance.
"Can I help you with something, Saihara?" She asked. "You did interrupt my piano time, y'know..."
"Ah! M-My apologies." He stuttered. "I-I believe Chabashira requires y-your presence. I-I uh... I-I-"
"Chabashira?" She asked, tilting her head at the detective. He hesitantly nodded. "Why would Chabashira want me?"
Sure, Tenko was best friends with Himiko, and it was no secret that they got along. However, just because Tenko was friends with her girlfriend did not mean Kaede had to get along with the Aikido Master. If anything, Kaede despised her, seeing as sometimes Himiko would trust Tenko more than her own girlfriend.
"Something to do with Yumeno." He murmured, pulling his sleeve over his hand. Kaede's interest peaked at that, her head raising sharply, her eyebrows raised, waiting for the detective to continue. When he said nothing, Kaede sighed.
"I'm assuming you've been told nothing else?" She huffed. He shook his head, apologising. She raised her hand, and he immediately stopped. She took him by the arm, dragging him out of her piano lab.
As she was dragging him along, she began thinking deeply about why Tenko would want to talk to her over Himiko. She knew that Tenko had something going on with Himiko, something she didn't like, and she knew that if Tenko had the choice, she'd try and come out on top. She halted, the detective slamming into her back. Her eyes widened, letting go of the boys arm, who cradled it close to him out of his personal anxiety.
"Uh... Where was Chabashira, anyway?" She muttered, looking away from the blue-haired boy. He looked up, thinking for a second before he replied to her.
"In Chabashira's room, I think. Either that, or Yumeno's."
She nodded, setting off for Tenko's room, Shuichi following behind her. Occasionally, she would look behind to see if he was still behind her, but other than that her focus was solely on finding the red-headed magician.
As they reached Tenko's room, she faltered, her hand raised to knock on the door. Why was she so nervous? It was just her girlfriend, plus her girlfriend's best friend. Maybe that was the reason, her girlfriend's overly-close best 'friend' was in there.
"Kaito and Harukawa are there as well, Akamatsu." Shuichi murmured, twisting his fingers together. She nodded. She knew that nothing would've happened on the Aikido Master's part if someone as cold as Maki was present. No one would dare try anything with Maki about, period.
She knocked on the door, and was immediately bombarded with the astronaut's friendly face. He smiled at both Kaede and Shuichi, pulling them both in. Maki shut the door, rolling her eyes.
"Akamatsu, Shuichi!" He shouted, smiling. She smiled back awkwardly, pushing his hands off her. He nodded, stepping away from Kaede.
"Momota." She greeted, nodding her head. "Harukawa, Chab-"
She stopped, looking at the sight of her girlfriend. She sighed. Himiko looked exhausted; her head was resting on a book, her red hair which was usually well cared for was a mess, her skin was far too pale for Kaede's liking and from what she could see of her girlfriend's facial features was her left ear, which was incredibly red and looked painful.
"What happened." She demanded, striding over to her girlfriend. Now that she was closer, she could definitely see some irritation in her girlfriend's ear. It was similar for her right ear as well.
"Akamatsu." Tenko muttered, looking away. She was sat dangerously close to Himiko, and it was something that annoyed Kaede. Greatly.
"Akamatsu doesn't answer my question, Chabashira." She hissed. "What. Happened."
"Probably Ouma." Maki muttered, playing with her hair. She puffed out her cheeks.
"What do you mean, probably Ouma?" She demanded, looking at the child care-giver. Maki glared back.
"Ouma was the one to find Yumeno like this." Kaito muttered. "Probably one of his dumb fucking pranks."
"W-We can't assume that." Shuichi added. "He was trying to be kind, letting us know of Yumeno's condition-"
"Yet refused to help out. Sure, he's kind, isn't he?" Maki spat, sarcasm evident in her voice when calling Kokichi kind.
"This still doesn't answer my question!" Kaede shouted.
"We don't know, Akamatsu. That's the only answer we have." Chabashira spat. Kaede rolled her eyes, gently sliding in the seat next to Himiko.
"Himiko?" She whispered. "Wake up, sweetie."
"Like that's gonna fucking work." Maki muttered.
"You got any better ideas?" Kaede asked, looking at her.
"I'm just saying. Kaito had to practically shout at her for her to understand us." Maki stated.
"Himiko." She said, a bit more volume in her voice. She began petting her girlfriends hair, and it was evident that Tenko was clearly annoyed at these actions.
"Haven't you got anything better to do?" She shot at Tenko, not bothering to smother up her true feelings with her usual kindness. Tenko glared at her, but left silently. Kaede smiled lightly, shaking her girlfriend's shoulders.
"Himiko." She said sternly. She shook Himiko's shoulders once more before the magician slowly raised her head, her hands going to cover her ears.
"Nya... I was sleeping." She muttered, shaking her head. "Why does everything sound underwater?"
Kaede tilted her head sideways, confused by her girlfriend's antic. She looked back at her detective friend, waiting for him to say something. He was by far the smartest of them all, and the most logical, so it would make sense for him to come up with something to explain this all. He looked puzzled, though, which worried Kaede.
"S-She's got an ear infection?" He asked, rather than stated. Maki scoffed, almost as if to say No Shit, Sherlock. Sure, Kaede could've worked it out on her own, but it was nice to have his support. Kaito nodded, slapping his sidekick on the back.
"Great job, Shuichi!" He shouted. Himiko groaned, resting her head back on her book. Kaede shook her head, moving the magician's head from the book. Himiko whined, but rested her head on Kaede's shoulder. Kaede almost hissed at how warm her girlfriend was, but decided to not comment on it.
"I think I've got this, thanks Momota, Saihara, Harukawa." She stated, looking at the trio. Maki said nothing, leaving like Tenko, in silence, however lacking a glare. Kaito nodded, going to drag Shuichi off with him and Maki before Shuichi walked over to Himiko and Kaede. At closer inspection of Himiko's ear, his puzzled look from before faded, and Kaede let out a sigh of relief.
"U-Uh... I-I'm not doctor, but I-I think Yumeno might have swimmer's ear, o-or something with similar symptoms and results."
"But we don't have any water around here. That makes no sense, Saihara." Maki commented. Kaede nodded.
"Magic~"
Kaede's head darted upwards, looking at the door. Leaning on the door-frame, the purple haired gremlin that caused so much trouble stood, looking tauntingly at Kaede.
"What the fuck do you want, Ouma." Kaito spat, glaring at the supreme leader. Kokichi held his hands up, playing the innocent card. Wouldn't work, he never was innocent.
"I'm being honest!" He insisted. "It really was magic! Tell them, Himiko."
All he received was silence.
"Temporary hearing loss, or hearing to be more impaired." Shuichi whispered. Kaede nodded.
"That's probably one more of your goddamn lies though, isn't it." Kaito hissed, walking towards the leader. His eyes widened, and he immediately backed up, walking into Maki, who didn't look to pleased either. Kokichi began to run off, Maki and Kaito hot on his heels. Shuichi sighed, standing up.
"I-I should probably follow them, m-make sure they don't kill him." He muttered, shaking his head. Kaede let out a soft laugh, nodding.
"I'll have to see you again soon, Saihara. Once Himiko's improved, and Kokichi isn't at threat of being murdered." She chuckled. He nodded, a small smile on his face, leaving the room. Kaede stood up, lifting the magician into her arms bridal style. Himiko whined, leaning onto the pianist, who smiled, kissing her cheek.
"Off to bed with you!"
"Nya, but I'm not sleepy." Himiko yawned.
"You clearly are." Kaede tutted, walking towards her own room.
She spotted Kirumi sweeping outside with a broom, and she made a mental note to see her for something to help Himiko. She set the magician in her bed, kissing her forehead. Himiko closed her eyes, blushing wildly. Kaede smiled sweetly, laughing at her girlfriend's reaction to her.
"I'll be right back." Kaede promised. Himiko sighed, turning over. "I have to talk to Toujo about something."
"Be quick." Himiko muttered, shivering.
Kaede was.
Kaede jogged outside, flagging the maid up quite quickly. Whilst she was dedicated to her job, her dedication to her friends won by a far mile.
"Toujo!" She shouted, forgetting about formalities and greeting her friend. Kirumi bowed, nodding her head at Kaede.
"Akamatsu." She greeted. "May I be of assistance to you?"
"Yeah, actually." Kaede stated, scratching her head awkwardly. Kirumi looked shocked, but covered it up quite quickly.
"How may I help you." She asked.
"How do you... uh... treat swimmer's ear?" She asked. Kirumi put a finger to her chin for a second, thinking.
"I believe you give antibiotics or medication, Akamatsu. Why are you so intrigued by this topic, if I may ask?"
"Himiko's got swimmer's ear. Or, Saihara thinks she does, and with how smart he is, I'm going to believe him." She explained. Kirumi nodded.
"I doubt you'll find the desired antibiotics here." Kirumi told Kaede. "However, some sort of pain relief should work if Himiko is in the earlier stages of it. Perhaps a more important question though, why would Himiko have swimmers ear?"
"Magic." She muttered. It sounded more stupid coming from her mouth than it did Kokichi's. Kirumi giggled, however coughed afterwards, hiding her mishap.
"My apologies for laughing." She said, shaking her head in annoyance with herself. Kaede smiled at her. "Perhaps I could find the desired pain relief for you, or at least, with you?"
"Sure, that'd be great!" Kaede smiled, her chirpy voice waving through the air. Kirumi nodded, setting her broom aside, walking off towards the cafeteria. Kaede followed, practically jogging after the maid and her brisk pace. If they ever needed to run away from anything, say an execution or something, Kirumi would be amazing for the job.
Once in the cafeteria, she spotted the anthropologist reading, sipping some tea. Kirumi greeted him, receiving a response. Kaede nodded to him, however so wasn't too close with him in the first place, so she didn't bother saying anything to him in fear of upsetting him.
"Shinguji, I do not suppose you'd happen to know where pain relief would be in this place, would you?" Kirumi asked. He looked up from his book, humming at the maid.
"Ah, if I'm not mistaken, it should be in the kitchen. Have you not seen it yourself?"
"Thank you, Shinguji. It was confirmation I needed."
Kirumi walked off into the kitchen, bidding goodbye to Korekiyo. Kaede stood in silence. Had she attempted to address the anthropologist for such a thing, he would've dived into an anthropology lesson, so how could Kirumi get away with it? She was a lady with a busy schedule, so maybe he respected that she wouldn't have time to listen to her?
"Akamatsu." Kirumi said softly, holding the pain killers out to her. Kaede shook her head, attempting to get rid of her daydreaming.
"Ah, sorry Toujo!" She replied, taking the pain killers with a smile. "Thank you! I'll be sure to tell Himiko. I'm sure she'll appreciate it. Goodbye Toujo." After some hesitation, she also added onto her goodbye. "...Goodbye, Shinguji."
He nodded at her, not replying, unlike Kirumi who also bid her a goodbye to return to her sweeping.
She returned to her room after collecting an ice pack. She went to dramatically announce her arrival before spotting a sleeping magician. Her heart melted at the sight, and she internally cooed at her, as if she was an infant or something. She had the height to be one, anyway.
She placed the pain killers on the side, making a mental note to make Himiko take them later. She wouldn't bother trying to wake Himiko up again. What would it achieve? A grumpy magician in pain for what? Some pain relievers that might not work?
Kaede shook her head, but placed the ice pack on Himiko's forehead. She needed to reduce that fever, and she would by any means possible. She slipped in the bed beside her, spooning her from behind, kissing the back of her neck.
"Goodnight, sweetheart. Sweet dreams." She whispered, resting her head on Himiko's back. A few minutes of rest wouldn't hurt, right?
"You owe me a thousand yen, Momota-chan~!"
"Get back here you fucking purple hobbit!"
