Chapter One

The 12 young people walked into the strange house.

"Hello?" Dawn called out, cupping her hands around her mouth.

"Hello," a creepy voice rang out in reply.

"What is this?" Ash demanded immediately after the resounding answer ended.

"This is going to be fun!" the voice said.

"What do you mean, 'fun'?!" Iris exclaimed.

"It is just a game... Your rooms each have your name on the doors. There are notes inside that will describe why you are here without your Pokémon."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ash walked into his room. It had a Twin-Sized bed with red sheets, a wooden desk with papers and pens scattered around it, a red shag carpet, and a hanging lamp. The lamp cast a soft glow on everything, which was comforting and creepy at the same time.
"Where's that note that that guy was talking about?" Ash muttered. He moved towards the desk, then saw a note on his bed. 'That has to be it,' he thought.
He strode towards his bed and picked up the paper.
"Competitors,
Welcome to a game. In this game, you will have to kill each other. When there are two left, you will have a Death Match. Whoever wins that will have the opportunity to free all of the Pokémon. If you fail, you will have an execution. Whoever is found guilty for murdering someone will also be executed. I wish the worst of luck to you all!
Signed,
Giovanni, Leader of Team Rocket."
"Team Rocket," Ash muttered angrily, crumpling the piece of paper in his gloved fist. "Cilan was right."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Everyone lied down in their beds of varying colors in their own room, no one being killed before the night.

Early in the morning, a scream was heard.

"A body has been found! You have an hour to investigate!"

"What?" Ash muttered groggily, rubbing his eyes. Then the memories of yesterday came flooding back to him.

Tracey burst into Ash's room. "Come, quickly!"

"Let me get dressed, will you?!" Ash exclaimed, covering his bare chest with a crimson sheet.

"Oh, sorry." Tracey's face turned red. *By the way, Tracey is a boy.*

As soon as Tracey closed the door, Ash jumped out of his bed and rummaged through a pile of clothes that had appeared during the night. His flannel pants were making his legs hot, which contrasted with his torso, which was rather freezing. "Why didn't I wear a shirt to bed?" he wondered out loud, then remembered that he was so disoriented that he must have forgotten to!

He settled on a dark-green T-shirt and light blue jeans. To finish the look, he put his hat on. The print of a PokéBall on the front seemed a brighter blue for some strange reason.

"W-w-why would anybody m-murder CILAN?" Iris stuttered. Her shirt was wrinkled, and her skirt was crooked. Even her hair was rather unkempt, which showed that she was very disoriented and confused. "I mean, I know he was annoying, but MURDER?! That's a little far!"

Ash's liquid brown eyes widened in fear. "Who would do this?" he asked no one in particular.

"Oh, Ash!" Misty said, putting a pale hand on the Kanto Trainer's shoulder.

"It has been 20 minutes!" Giovanni's voice boomed over the contestants.

Cilan's neck was twisted, along with a leg. Blood was soaked through his black, crisp shirt. Much blood had stained his green sheets, which gave Ash the idea of Christmas in his state of hysteria. Cilan's eyes were closed, for which Ash thanked Mew. He couldn't imagine what horrors lay behind the closed eyelids. A thin stream of blood trickled out of the green-haired teen's mouth, adding to the effect of freakiness.

"Okay, let's investigate," N said firmly, taking charge. "Clemont, Tracey, and Brock, investigate the body. Iris, Bonnie, and Serena, look around the mansion for any clues. Misty, May, and Dawn, look for any suspicious persons. Ash? Just... sit down," N finished, seeing his friend in a hysterical state.

Ash sat down in a nearby wooden chair, panicking about this whole sick game.

"Ash," N said firmly.

Ash looked up, his pupils shrunk in fear.

"You can't let one death rattle you this much. All of us will die except for one. Unless you die early, you will have to stay strong."

"I DON'T WANT TO DIE!" Ash screamed, then sprinted out of the room. His black-and-red sneakers pounded the floor, but his pounding heart was the sound that reverberated in his ears the most. A few tears threatened to drip off his face, but he wiped them away with his wrist before anyone he was running by noticed.

"Ash?" Dawn asked, her voice rough. "SUSPICIOUS!" she suddenly screamed.

"WHY WOULD I KILL MY FRIEND?!" Ash demanded the Sinnoh Coordinator.

Dawn backed up, her hands in the air. "N was right. Just sit down, you're upset," May said, her blue eyes concerned.

Misty nodded, putting her hand on Ash's shoulder again. "I'm sorry, but you will have to get through it."

Ash turned away.

Everyone heard Iris exclaim, "I FOUND A WEAPON!"

All the people rushed to where they heard Iris's voice, like a humongous flood of flesh and bone.

Ash saw the weapon of choice; a poorly cleaned table knife.

"What the heck," he said under his breath. Who would kill someone with a rather dull TABLE KNIFE?!

"Thirty minutes left!" Giovanni taunted the Trainers and Coordinators.

"We need to find out who did this," Iris stated firmly.

"No dip, Sherlock," Ash growled.

"Ash, you have to stay strong!" Misty urged her friend.

Iris and Dawn nodded in agreement. Serena was too busy comforting young Bonnie. The younger girl was bawling that her brother Clemont was going to die along with everyone else.

"Interesting," Brock said.

"I don't remember you wearing a long-sleeved shirt ever. What makes today different?" Tracey asked the older Breeder.

Brock searched for an explanation, but just said, "I'm disoriented."

Tracey looked under the bed. "Nothing here," he murmured.

Brock looked around nervously and snatched a scrawled note out from under Cilan, which told the murderer. Nobody saw him do it.

"We know that they had to have access to the kitchen, or else they wouldn't have been able to get the knife." Iris nodded thoughtfully. "So it is either Brock or Cilan, the culinary masters."

"But there's no suicide allowed in the game, and no one here has the courage," Dawn pointed out.

"So it was... Brock?" May asked in a small voice.

Serena was hugging Bonnie to comfort her. "I didn't know him, but I didn't think that he would kill anyone from the way Ash talked about him."

Bonnie nodded in agreement to Serena's statement.

*in the courtroom*

Cilan's pleasant expression had a red X violently slashed through it.

"So, who was the murderer?" Giovanni's disembodied voice echoed.

"Brock!" everyone except Brock yelled.

"What?!" Brock said, shocked.

"Don't play dumb," Serena said angrily.

"Fine. I did kill Cilan, because I wanted to travel with Ash some more, 'cause he was such a great Trainer, but Cilan got to instead."

A red button appeared. Mewtwo appeared behind it and pushed it.

"Mewtwo!" Brock said, shocked that the man-made Legendary had appeared.

Mewtwo dragged Brock into a stimulation room with Psychic.

The stimulation room would be Brock's execution.

Execution: Pokémon Breeder's Nightmare

Many Pokémon looked Brock's way. Pairs of Vulpix and Ninetales used Fire Spin. Pairs of other Pokémon also used powerful moves.

When they walked away, there was nothing left of Brock.
