Life 3 - Chapter 31
I facepalmed. "Great, this is just...great...."
I noticed a girl pacing back and fourth. She seemed to have crossed the boundaries of the fourth wall.
"Dang it, not Quentin!!"
Quentin looked at her. "Dang it, not Quentin what?"
BeccaWise4 smirked. She thought you were gonna be the mastermind.
Quentin gaped at the girl. "Wait, you thought it was me?!"
BeccaWise4 laughed. Yeah, last chapter, she STILL didn't believe Mitch was the mastermind. She still thought it was you.
Quentin rolled his eyes.
The girl stopped pacing and looked at BeccaWise4. "Wait a minute... I've been talking to the MASTERMIND in the comments?!?!?! Can I join you?"
BeccaWise4 raised an eyebrow. Umm...if you want to be executed with me, then sure, I guess.
I was so super confused. "Why the heck is the author the mastermind?!"
BeccaWise4 smirked. Well, in one of my other Minecraft series books, I had mentioned that I put myself in my stories in some way. Not to idolize, but to enhance my ability to write the story. That could also include writing an x reader, which having those place holders can help me feel like I'm still in the story.
"Are you writing an x reader?"
She froze. Uhm, I've said too much!
I rolled my eyes. "Ok, but seriously, why are you the mastermind? You didn't really put yourself into the story except during those few paragraphs in death/execution chapters."
And now.
I crossed my arms.
BeccaWise4 turned to the crowd of readers that were creeping over the minuscule remains of the fourth wall.
She sighed. You have questions.
They nodded.
BeccaWise4 turned to me. We'll have to delay my execution for a bit.
She turned back to the readers. Let me answer some possible questions you guys have before you ask me more questions.
She beckoned to MonoKirby. He flew up into her arms. She hugged him before starting.
Why was the fourth wall so messed up? First off, let me say that KitKatAttack101 actually was the closest in guessing who the mastermind was. She suggested that the fourth wall was the mastermind. Technically, she was on point. The author IS the fourth wall. THEY separate the characters from the readers. Anyways, I was stretched between roles. Normally, as an author, our only job is to protect the fourth wall. Well...I was the mastermind. Then, I had to be Mitch, too. Having 3 different roles really stretches the author. I had to divvy up my strength among the 3 places. The reason it fell was because Jerome called the mastermind. Once he knew, I could recall my strength back to me. The fourth wall fell at that point. Also, I couldn't tell them to stop breaking the fourth wall because it would've given away who I was. I wouldn't be just a voice they heard. They'd know I was an actual person in the story, and since you never saw me 'til now...you see the point.
I raised an eyebrow. "That was a long explanation."
She shrugged. Trying to answer possible questions in one go before I'm gone.
She sat on a podium. What next...ah. Why did I use bacca language, like, 3 times before not using it again? I'm forgetful. Bleh.
I rolled my eyes. ".luftegrof syawla s'ehS"
There, see? Used it again.
I stuck my tongue at her.
"Next to Displeased Mitch, this has got to be the most fourth wall breaking in a book." Mitch said.
"It's very confusing." I said.
Quentin looked at the readers. "Like the fact that we're saying our own words, yet they're being controlled?"
I held my head. "Ah, Quentin, stahp! The logic hurts my head!"
Anyways, who was this 'him' I mentioned last chapter? Yeah...that would be my dead brother. No, not Caleb. Caleb's fine. I mean a brother who died when I was 4. Alexander. I barely knew him, but...I don't know.... I just felt insurmountable rage about 8 months ago. I guess that brought around this book. Sorry to the Crundee and Skybop fans. And Pewdiplier fans, if there even are any.
"Are you gonna explain me, or are you just gonna brush me off?" Rachel said, sulking slightly.
BeccaWise4 rolled her eyes. Yeesh, ok! How did she die? ...uh...I actually don't know. I just needed a ghost to guide Jerome, and Rachel was the first person who popped into my mind. Course, if you read my first ever published book and then this one, you'd instantly know I was the mastermind, so I changed her name to Rayn with a y.
Rachel sighed angrily. "I always freaking die in your books! First, I die in your first published book. Second, I get my freaking left eye stabbed out by a maniac in your third book. Now, I'm dead for no reason!"
BeccaWise4 shrugged. Well, sorrrry.
I sighed. "Sibling rivalries."
BeccaWise4 nodded. I think that's all the questions.
"Cans we be killings you now?" Barney asked.
BeccaWise4 scoffed. Yeah, yeah. Just press my name on the podium.
The top slid back one last time to reveal our 6 names, and a new button that said, "Becca".
We all pressed it.
The slot machine rose up in the center.
MonoKirby hopped from BeccaWise4's arms and landed on the lever. He then flew back up to BeccaWise4.
The slots started spinning.
Becca. Becca. Becca.
Then, the obvious words popped up.
GUILTY
BeccaWise4 sighed. I did indeed kill Ian and Crainer.
A pixelated BeccaWise4 was on the screen. MonoKirby ran in, but instead of sucking her up, he jumped into her arms, and they walked off the screen together.
The slot machine went back into the ground and, the ground closed up.
A hole in the wall appeared, a coat-hanger on the wall next to it.
BeccaWise4 flew up to the hole in the wall. She removed her purple cloak and placed it on the coat-hanger.
The way out is in the pockets of my purple cloak.
Still holding MonoKirby, she started going into the hole.
She then stopped and turned around.
Ah! I almost forgot the most important thing!
She sat on the edge of the hole, her feet resting against the wall.
Why am I the mastermind? To portray a bigger concept. Just a little warning, if you haven't read Dangan Ronpa Minecraft by MangoKiwi, do it now. There is a massive spoiler I'm about to say.
She was looking directly at the readers.
No one moved.
She nodded. Ok. You know how Bodil40 was the mastermind in DRM? Well...in truth...he was not the mastermind. He never was. He was a...placeholder for the true mastermind.
There were mumbles among the readers.
The true mastermind...was MangoKiwi.
Gasps erupted from the crowd.
Yes. MangoKiwi was the true mastermind. Think about it. She made the plot. She chose the ways of execution. She pitted the players against each other. She controlled who did and didn't die. She created the layout of her mansion.
She looked at me. Just like I did. I made the plot. I chose the ways of execution. I pitted the players against each other. I controlled who did and didn't die. I created the layout of this castle.
With that, she stood back up and continued through the hole.
It closed up behind her.
We looked at each other and at the readers.
I sighed. "Let's go watch BeccaWise4 die."
